  • This is the final movement of the C Major Cello Suite and it's a corker! This movement is more tightly constructed than some of Bach's works are and in the second half of the movement he is careful to return to themes he introduced earlier.

That was amazing! I love the idea of classical music on synths, it feels like a hugely untapped niche.

Thank you! It was really a bit serendipitous that I discovered how well some of the Bach cello suites suit this instrument, but I’m glad I did!

Splendid, as always. I like it best when you use reverb sparingly, as is the case here. Is it a deliberate artistic choice to always use more or less the same sound on the Moog for your Bach transcriptions, and not to use dynamic settings, such as filter opening, to emphasize certain passages? The choice of sobriety, perhaps? In any case, the sound you've created is perfectly suited to the exercise. Please continue to provide us with these moments of pleasure. It's so rare to hear music coming out of synthesizers on UA-cam.

Thank you for your kind words! It is true that I have found a family of sounds that I like to use for these suites. Truth is that the filter dial on this keyboard is in need of repair or replacement and so I don’t tend to use it except to find a spot where it sounds good! There are other ways, like envelopes and the mod wheel, to access the filter, but these ways have their own complications that encourage me to use them sparingly. Thanks again for watching and I certainly intend to record all of the cello suites before thinking about what’s next.

@@NoiseSupply It's a beautiful sound, simple, elegant, and yet very expressive without necessarily needing to fiddle with the pots in every direction. Also: it reacts very well to paraphony.
