That is incredible to hear from someone who actually helped manufacture the True Trace. Do you have any pointers. It is not a tool I use a lot, but like so many tools when you need it it is great to have the correct tool. I was lucky to find one so complete.
@@Haystack461 The best info I can give you is to keep the oil clean and do not overheat the oil, these are the two biggest problems that I encountered. Believe it or not, operators also hit them with Hammers.
Hi I just got a lablond lathe and it came with a taper attachment and a true tracer. The tracer is not attached to the lathe. If I paid you would you send me a copy of the manual and is there a reason you installed it on the front of the lathe?
The true trace depth of cut is controlled with micro-adjusters in two directions, in and out and left and right. You bring the cross slid into position set it to zero and then all adjustments for cutting are made on the True Trace micro-adjusters. So it will need to mounted on front where you can get to the adjustments. I also had to manufacture an adapter plate to connect to the cross slide. If the True Trace came with you lathe, was it set up to accept the true trace? If you get me the address I will get you the information I have.
Gary Cass thanks your the best some guy on eBay is selling a manual for a $130.00 . My Tracer did not come with the attachments that hold the template I was hoping that the manual would have information on the template attachment so I could fabricate one. I am 70 years old and have never worked a lathe, mill or a Serfice grinder. Was this your profession or did you start latter as a hobby? My address is Santo Pezzotti, 217 Green Drive, churchville pa 18966. Thanks again this will be a great help.
@@santopezzotti730 I will get you some pictures of the holder and copy the information. This was not my profession. I trained back in high school and have dabbled in it my whole life. Finally got more started in what I call copy-cat machining about 20 years ago. I do repairs type machining for local farmers, contractors ex.
Just found your channel and subscribed. Very nice attachment.
I worked for True Trace for over 10 years, and when you pulled out an
original Blue Print I almost fell off my chair!
