There’s places in Mexico that can do it for less than $1K, but I don’t want to be kidnapped by cartel goons.
I didn't have elevated enzymes, but pain on my L&R sides of the abdomen. Dr sent me for an ultrasound found out I have fatty liver. Same for my husband. Insist that your dr give you a referral to a gastroenterologist and most likely they will do it. Good luck.
@@danaapplecheese5379 Thanks for the advice. I didn't know that was the domain of a gastro. I'm not having any pain but like 12/15 of the symptoms I have researched that are common with NAFLD, so I wanted to rule it out. I apologize if this is a redundant question….but for digestion during meals, should people take purified bile salts with food…. and then for overall health/liver/gallbladder issues, take tudca on empty stomach in the AM? Or is taking the tudca in the AM alone enough to have benefits for both issues?
I have heard both sides: Take bile salts with food......before the meal....after the meal. TUDCA --- can be taken on an empty stomach for best absorption. You can take TUDCA -- in the AM or PM.
I don't know exactly what has been wrong with my stomach but it was bad. I could not determine if it was gallbladder, stomach or what. It was in the center of my abdomen above the belly button up to the ribs.It started when I began taking a high dose of a very potent black seed oil. It overwhelmed me and I got chronic diarrhea and stomach pain even though I stopped taking the black seed oil. I never went to a health care professional because where I live they are all sell outs to the pharmaceutical companies and I don't trust them a bit. I had the symptoms and discomfort for a year. I eventually learned about TUDCA. I began taking it along with DGL and pancreatic enzymes. I am feeling better, but my stools are not yet 'normal', but improving. I believe eventually I will fully recover. I take a dose of TUDCA on an empty stomach and then again later with food. I appreciate the great info that you share with people. It's very helpful and so interesting.
Hey Anna, its amazing you have mentioed you got chronic stomaxh pain following consumption of strong black seed oil. I kid you not the same exact thing happened to me. Its been 2 years now and I am absutely certain it was the black seed oil that affected me. Bought TUDCA hopefully that wakes up the gallblader which seems to be the issue from symptoms
I’m not sure if you can help answer this, but I had bought some TUDCA capsules and have a hard time swallowing pills. Is it OK that I open the capsules and pour in water?
well it caused my gall bladder to dump last night...clog up my bile ducts...and gave me the mother of all head aches since last night...24 hours now and no sign of it passing.....it also hit my radial nerve causing burning and tingling down my arms...pain in my back shoulder...i lost a days work now from sleeping it off....another thing it did is hit the nerves going into my head...i have migraine with blinding aura...NEVER HAD THIS IN MY LIFE....stroke like symptoms that pass with an even more ferocios headache....i am a suppliment junky...been using them for 25 years and live on a carnivore and keto diet to prevent diabetic complications...very successfully too...i had kidney stones this past year...and i am alble to keep them moving with citrates and fluids...low oxcillate foods...i NEVER tried tudca until last night and it hit me like the wrath of god....i am suffering as we speak and trying like hell to prevent going to the er and having the chop shop remove my gall bladder....DO NOT TAKE THIS BINDLY....it CAN FUCK YOU UP...and i am very serious
Sorry to hear that. All those symptoms are not listed as a side effect. How did TUDCA hit your radial nerve? How did TUDCA cause the migraine? So -- what I read is that you were FINE before taking and ALL these symptoms happened after? What dosage did you take?
Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is an autoimmune condition characterized by chronic inflammation and subsequent scarring of the bile ducts within the liver. The cause is unknown, although researchers have ruled out alcohol and diet as possible triggers. This is a tough one because NOT that many cases are found. I have a 24 year old male patient --- after years of testing ---FINALLY found this out.

Elastase could mean there's intestinal malabsorption and/or the pancreas is failing(Carroccio). The stool elastase can be a serious indicator that the pancreas is failing. Severe deficiency is if there's less than 100ug/g in the stool assay(Dominguez). Needless to say an elevated elastase could be the warning of more serious pancreatic disease such as developing diabetes (Nunes) or even a cancer(Stein). If there is an elevated elastase you want to rule out unwanted bugs or more serious conditions.
I was told to take digestive enzymes when i start eating a meal and Tudca about 30 minutes after i have finished. One of your videos mentions to take Tudca before you eat. Does it matter? I have no gallbladder and have had 3 pancreatitis attacks since May.
Wow, so much info about TUDCA. 2 questions if I can: 1. Do you always split the dose? I mean I would like to take 1000mg but I only take it before sleep, few hours after meal, can I take 1000mg in one dose? 2. Is UDCA less potent or are they similar?

Hi doc, I had my Gallbladder removed 10 days ago. I had (and still have) IBS symptoms such as constipation, bloating, severe burping, etc. Can I take Bile salts in addition to Tudca or take one only? Also take digestive enzymes. Also have low energy, low libido and low mood, wonder if these are related to my GI issues? Another strange question....I barely pass gas. Even when I do, my gas does not have a foul odor. Neither do most of my bowel movements. Any thoughts on this?
We found that TUDCA supplementation could improve bile acid-FXR-FGF15 signaling and reduce pancreatic and intestinal injury in AP. Tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA) is a conjugated derivative of UDCA having protective effects in acute biliary pancreatitis as well. Tauroursodeoxycholic acid reduced activation of intracellular trypsin and caspases, and attenuated ER stress damage.
TUDCA is a lot more potent that ox bile and has far greater benefit on the liver and body. And if you end up taking TUDCA you shouldn't need as much if any ox bile.
Thank you for the validation, I began taking TUDCA (I forget why I started) months ago, and noticed immediate improvement in my GI tract. Timely information.
Hi Dr. Jinaan, I gave this to my mom. 250mg on empty stomach and she did eat an hour later. It made her light headed and feel wird, not a headache. What would be the cause of this....maybe a herx? Should I have her take maybe 1/3 a capsule with food instead? I really want to her take this because of her dementia. Any thoughts would be welcome...Thanks
Hi, Have you done stool test for your mom? My son regressed into autism at 3 years old and he completely forgot everything and when I tested his stool test, he had bacteria and HPHPA. Please try. I was diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cholongitis in 2020 at the age of 36 along with Sjögrens and was given Ursodexychol acid 750 ml Per day. I’m going for my yearly check up in november and can’t help wonder whether or not I should bring TUDCA up? Is it better than ursodeoxychol acid? If they are closely related I wouldn’t want to overdose in case they are over the counter medicine ? I’ve spoken to two specialist and one of them didn’t know what TUDCA was… His reaction was just “oh” when I brought it up. So I’m eager to hear your thoughts on the matter Dr. Thank you for the video.
Urosdeoxychol turns IN TO TUDCA. Yes, bring it up. I have a 24 yoa male patient with PBC. Where are you located at? There are NOT many Doctors who are familiar with PBC because there are NOT many cases in the US. Ursodexychol is the prescription form that turns into TUDCA.. Yes, you can take both.
Taking Tudca for me creates burning in my upper gi area for 2 days after only one 500 mg dose.my doc thinks I need it and I do too so going to try just a Lil bit of a capsule and work my way up ..gallbladder removed in 2008 ..leaky gut ..gut bacteria imbalance .gastritis .prior H pylori postive in 2007..inability to lose weight .cholesterol ratio imbalance.. gluten sensitive ...positive ana for lupus ..now negative .. For sure lol so going to give this a try again and just deal with any pain I may have because I know it should subside ..also going to do castor oil packs and coffee enemas to further my healing ..😊
Dr. J: I experienced high heart palpitations and soreness on my liver/gallbladder area when taking Tudca, I feel great energy the next day and like a muscle relaxer feeling on my liver/gallbladder area....the first time, I overdosed, the 2nd time I took minimal and I didn't experience fainting spells or loss of energy but the heart palpitations were and still hard to relieve no matter how much potassium I took. Is there any combinations of supplements that can bring the same effects of tudca into play here? I am still waiting on my ultrasound. I feel pressure on breathing, heartburn effects, pressure and pain on my right center rib area which is why I am taking Tudca.
I have gallstones and I have asked for time to try and save my gallbladder. I started to take Tudca, but I am experiencing such fatigue with it that I can't function. I have heard that it can increase progesterone and I remember being really fatigued in the first part of pregnancy. However when I have looked it up can't see anyone else talking about fatigue. Anyone have any ideas why? Thanks
Removing toxic bile acids from the liver and preventing them from damaging liver cells -- is one of the many functions. You may be detoxing from the newness of taking TUDCA. supplements.selfdecode.com/blog/tudca-benefits/
I can’t seem to find any concrete info online if it’s dangerous while pregnant. I don’t take anything during the first trimester because that’s the critical formative time but what about second and third trimester? Currently 20 weeks pregnant. General guidelines for pregnancy always say avoid because risks unknown. But if listening to those guidelines I would avoid absolutely everything during pregnancy which is not realistic. I take supplements after I study the mechanism of each supplement and can understand if it will harm the baby or not. My gut reaction is that taking a 500mg capsule every two or three days will be perfectly fine since ultimately it’s a bile salt and we produce that ourselves. Can you share your thoughts about this please?
So I was just diagnosed with bartonella after getting Covid. I’m on long term antibiotics which I hate. Can incorporating this help with microbiome? I also have celiac and hashimoto
You could be detoxing. TUDCA supplements are generally considered safe when taken within the recommended amounts. When exceeding 1500 mg daily, some people have reported experiencing diarrhea. Aside from that one complication, there are no other reported side effects for TUDCA.
What if I only have a fatty liver and no digestive problems at all or gallbladder problems. Can I still take it ? But I don’t wanna take it with food I heard it’s bad . Maybe wait 4 hours before eating
Hi! I was just diagnosed with PBC. They want to put me on urso. Do you think it’s ok to take both, tudca and urso or one is better than the other? TIA!
The primary therapeutic action of hydrophilic UDCA is to replace hydrophobic bile acids, thereby attenuating cholestasis and hepatocellular injury. Tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA), a taurine conjugated form of UDCA with higher hydrophility, is the primary metabolite of UDCA. URSO-- is prescription. TUDCA is a by-product of UDCA --- and it is safe to take as a supplement.
You’re only Dr that I’ve heard said to take on empty stomach. I thought you had to take it with food and I’m so busy preparing meals I forget to take it take it on an empty stomach but I just wasn’t sure
Could it potentially be bad for apoptosis to be suppressed (systemically, throughout the whole body) by the ingestion of TUDCA? That's my biggest hesitancy so far. Interference in a normal bodily process seems like it could potentially create a risk for some kind of detrimental effect. Maybe there is / are some good things associated with apoptosis? (and, thus, we don't want it to be suppressed) Any thoughts on this? Thanks :) P.S., what started me wondering about this was watching another UA-cam video, titled "How to Use Ox Bile and TUDCA the Right Way" posted about 8 days ago. In it, the presenter expressed that general concern, at one point in his video, and thus seemed to have come to the conclusion that it was best to only use TUDCA in extreme type cases - and briefly at that. (For example, to correct bad symptoms that need to be alleviated -- and there's no other way to do it -- in the short run.)
I have been having abdominal issues that the doc says is gallbladder. But it is also very difficult for me to walk. No pain, but it feels like my knees have no strength and are about to collapse. Almost like it's neurological or something. Is this weakness a result of liver or kidney problems? I have started taking tudca.

@@MuchoHeadHoncho It is suggested that TUDCA therapy is safe and appears to be more effective than UDCA in the treatment of liver cirrhosis, particularly in the improvement of the biochemical expression. However, both drugs exert no effect on the serum markers for liver fibrosis during 6-month treatment. Two herbs, lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) and bugleweed (Lycopus europaeus), have been shown in limited studies to reduce hyperthyroid symptoms and to block or reduce thyroid hormones. In one study, bugleweed was shown to be as effective as beta-blockers for protecting the heart from damage from hyperthyroidism

If I don't get a referral I will probably just take Tudca as preventative and hope for the best.

Not at all a redundant question. I was looking for the exact information. Thanks for your question. I hope you are feeling better and healed. 🙏

Thank you for sharing your story.
Which brand or company would you recommend? Thanks ❤

I’m not sure if you can help answer this, but I had bought some TUDCA capsules and have a hard time swallowing pills. Is it OK that I open the capsules and pour in water?
Yes, OR -- just open the capsules over your mouth and drink water afterwards.
well it caused my gall bladder to dump last night...clog up my bile ducts...and gave me the mother of all head aches since last night...24 hours now and no sign of it passing.....it also hit my radial nerve causing burning and tingling down my arms...pain in my back shoulder...i lost a days work now from sleeping it off....another thing it did is hit the nerves going into my head...i have migraine with blinding aura...NEVER HAD THIS IN MY LIFE....stroke like symptoms that pass with an even more ferocios headache....i am a suppliment junky...been using them for 25 years and live on a carnivore and keto diet to prevent diabetic complications...very successfully too...i had kidney stones this past year...and i am alble to keep them moving with citrates and fluids...low oxcillate foods...i NEVER tried tudca until last night and it hit me like the wrath of god....i am suffering as we speak and trying like hell to prevent going to the er and having the chop shop remove my gall bladder....DO NOT TAKE THIS BINDLY....it CAN FUCK YOU UP...and i am very serious
Sorry to hear that. All those symptoms are not listed as a side effect. How did TUDCA hit your radial nerve? How did TUDCA cause the migraine? So -- what I read is that you were FINE before taking and ALL these symptoms happened after? What dosage did you take?

Tudca is a great supplement that has hundreds of benefits! Do NOT consume alcohol when taking it.
Why?
Which autoimune disease causes damange to the bile ducts ? Just curious thanks
Thank you very much or the informations. I already take some NAC but do you think that it could be benficial to take some TUDCA with milk thistle?

@@thejdocrealminute4648 is it safe to take both Tadka and LIV 52 at the same time

For how many months should we take Tudca ?
You can take it as long as it is benefitting.
Hi Dr,
Can this with enzymes help to accelerate the markers for Elastase? They are very low
It really doesn't matter. A lot of research says: Before, During, After....... as long as you take it.

Wow, so much info about TUDCA. 2 questions if I can:
1. Do you always split the dose? I mean I would like to take 1000mg but I only take it before sleep, few hours after meal, can I take 1000mg in one dose?
2. Is UDCA less potent or are they similar?
UDCA is prescription. TUDCA -- you can split the dose or take it all at once.

Will this also help autoimmune pancreatitis?
We found that TUDCA supplementation could improve bile acid-FXR-FGF15 signaling and reduce pancreatic and intestinal injury in AP. Tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA) is a conjugated derivative of UDCA having protective effects in acute biliary pancreatitis as well. Tauroursodeoxycholic acid reduced activation of intracellular trypsin and caspases, and attenuated ER stress damage.

I had my gallbladder out years ago. How do I know if I have to much bile leeking?
Too much bile 'leaking'? ---> diarrhea.

Could it potentially be bad for apoptosis to be suppressed (systemically, throughout the whole body) by the ingestion of TUDCA? That's my biggest hesitancy so far. P.S., what started me wondering about this was watching another UA-cam video, titled "How to Use Ox Bile and TUDCA the Right Way" posted about 8 days ago.
