A little bit off-topic, but I just wanted to thank you for what you're doing. Your videos are what made me finally understand how a synth works, and the way you demonstrate how sounds from even the most popular songs can be remade by anyone with a vst is kind of really inspiring.
tom u already know i rang that youtube bell so i never miss a video 😎 i remember ur last 808 bass tutorial u did in massive years ago, i still use variations of that patch to this day
I appreciate how you actually explain what your doing and why rather than just telling us to turn a knob and itll sound good. anyways, all of your videos are so informative and comprehensible ive learned more about serum in the last 2 hours watching through all your videos than I have in the last two years watching others.
You have great tutorials, keep up the good work! For bass sounds I recommend you to try this trick: Turn down the phase randomisation of OSC A & B, especially when using a sub osc. Otherwise your low end will be very inconsistent. Also, removing the fundamental from the detuned oscillator via editing the wavetable makes sure your fundamental stay constant. This makes a big difference the headroom and loudness of a mix, so your sub levels are not all over the place depending on the phase of the oscillators.
This is not specific to the video bit I love your videos! And I love that you don’t have ads on most of them. Makes me want to actually buy something from you!
Great content! You're a wizard and a great teacher :) What about just chaining the FX in an effects rack one by one and blending them in kind of like a mix knob and filtering out the low end of each individual chain, is that a good option? Or is it better to just separate the Lows and Highs altogether for a bass like you showed?
@@tikaal Yeah It's mostly to change the perceived thickness of the 808. You have to be careful with how loud your other instruments are in that frequency band for that very reason. It can get crowded. I was kind of being lazy with that reply bc I am busy sorry
You're going too fast. You didn't show the filter being applied, and you also don't explain how to add points in the LFO editor. It literally just cuts to it having another point and it being moved. Couldn't get past that part
@@strvtosmusic or maybe he could make a proper tutorial and show how to do everything you should have to do in the video. Why should I have to have previous knowledge on serum to make this? He never says “this tutorial is for serum EXPERTS ONLY!!!”
@@strvtosmusic lmao ur a bad musician. Imagine hating because I know less. Maybe next time someone is confused (since you know literally everything about serum) help them understand what they’re messing up. I might be a noob but you were a noob once too and now you’re just a loser

That's so cool to hear! It's about time I did a more comprehensive one for Serum!
You have no idea how long I've been trying to find a tutorial like this... thank you

Most indepth 808 tut I know of! Amazing man!
Appreciate it! Thanks!
Another fantastic tutorial from SynthHacker. Thank you! You are single handedly helping my move forward my sound design dreams!

One of my favorite 808s tutorial, thank u so much 🤝
The best 808 tutorial out there 👍😎
Super comprehensive and also agile explanation of what one might need, I appreciate that.
you're awesome dude. you always help me a lot
You are a Goat Just wondering do u have any videos to make a kick 🤔
Lit I forgot all about serum. Been wanting 2 create some custom sounds lately this was the perfect inspiration. Subbed up 🙏
Pretty cool man thank u
Such a phenomenal video as are all of your others. As I am developing my sound design techniques, I'm finding I lean on these videos a lot. Thank you!
Wow
Thank you
THANK YOU!

didnt even finish yet. this is a really well described video. very well compartmentalized. good job o7
The best video
10/10, thanks so much for this!!! Very helpful. Learned a ton about Serum from this. Keep up the good work! (+Subbed!)
No problem! Glad you found it useful!
Nice tutorial!
Thanks a lot
Very explicative, thanks a lot !
GREAT video, thanks!
Thanks for watching :)
very useful video! could you make something similar with snares/hihats/percussion sounds?
Extremely helpful
when i saw the notification i was like " 808s? not interested.... oh wait its SynthHacker?!" *proceed to click fast*

yop , i did not found your granular Noise sounds , its pretty interesting nice video btw
Wow 😍😍
Any chance you can recreate the Zay and spinnz 808
is this the software used to make the actual sounds of the 808s, kicks, snares etc... ?
this is crazyyyyyyyyyyy
Thanks
hey what means direct out in the noise section
Can you do this with other Sounds Like: Reeze Bass ? :)
2 saw waves one at -27 fin and the other at -17. Then add distortion and a filter.
@@RJFmedia ähm, ok thx? 😅
@@kingo5940 ye super simple reese, sounds great for hyper pop or variations of future bass like flume.
@@kingo5940 also serum's reverb filter is very good for reeses.
What type of small/cheap analogue synth makes these kind of sounds?
I use fl but this is gold
0:39 WHAT THE FUCK LMFAO??? THATS BEEN MY DESKTOP BACKGROUND FOR THE PAST YEAR
dope
Why would you want to widen your sub bass?
best
Are you using live 11? Why doesnt my redux look like that?
yeah Live 11!
whats the point of adding noise samples?
Fills out the frequency spectrum. 808s are almost all low frequencies
@@echorotation yeah but like, if you add other instruments on top of it, it fills the gap right? is to achieve some kind of balance on the sub itself?
