- This is the Greyhound bus station in Columbia, South Carolina. Buses from both Greyhound and Southeastern Stages come here everyday. Southeastern Stages is a regional bus line that serves the Carolinas, GA, Jacksonville, FL, part of NC, and TN. It has an partnership with Greyhound.
NOTE: The station is now closed as of March 2015. It has been moved to Buckner Road between Fairfield Road and Monticello Road. Here is a link below for those who want to know more.

Greyhound used to be fun, but so many routes cut about 10 years ago. I knew a agent that would give me the current schedule books (called Russell's Guide) that had all the Greyhound, Southeastern Stages and other connecting bus lines in it so it made it easy to plan trips. Greenville SC transit threw Greyhound out about 5 years ago from the downtown terminal and now they are out in the middle of a shopping area south of Greenville off I-85 and I-385. Stupid move and I emailed GTA about it but they responded saying no one transferred between the city buses and intercity buses there and that they needed the Greyhound waiting area converted to offices. Hardly any bus service here anymore.
The same in most every city today.
I can imagine that those Southeastern Stages buses are a lot more comfortable than Greyhound buses, Greyhound has those firm leaver seats that are so uncomfortable.
This Is The Old Southeastern Stages-Greyhound Bus Terminal It's Downtown On The Corner Of Harden & Gervais Street In Columbia S.C. So Glad They Moved The Bus Terminal Out Near Interstate 20 On Buckner Rd. The Terminal Is Much Nicer & Cleaner & Safer Too No Homeless People Hanging Around Out On Buckner Rd. Terminal Either!

awesome! these both Southeastern Stages Inc & Greyhound Bus Line Inc are my favorite that I love travel on going out of town that also departs or arrives @ the Greyhound Bus Station in Downtown Atlanta near 232 Forsyth St. in Atlanta, Georgia 30303.
I've been on Greyhound buses a lot of times and this is not the first time this is probably my text I'm on the Greyhound bus and I'm not going to stop getting on I'm going every year
Lanetta Taylor I'm the same way, I love Greyhound and I won't stop riding, I always take the bus from San Bernardino CA to greenboro North Carolina every year, my next trip will be on November 17 coming back on December 5. ,2019

That's the old station, the new one is out by the interstate. Gentrification has driven Greyhound out of many downtown areas.

They have a new station now. I wonder why they moved it from the old location?
Their lease at that location expired and would not be renewed.
The new station is not downtown it is in the middle of nowhere nothing really closeby
basically, gentrification. Rich people wanted the property to build apartments and don't want poor people hanging around.
Hey guys I'm from Brazil and I'd like to understand more about your buses model, bus station... here in Brazil we have a lot of companies, but I see that in US the most common is greyhound and I'm not sure if every bus station belong to a specific bus company, it's true or the bus station is public as here in Brazil?

Basically racism. White people in the area wanted to build apartments and didn't want poor people hanging around so they moved it to a poor, black area right off the interstate.
i dont know how this is a "Greyhound" station when i didnt see one Greyhound bus?? Southeastern Stages is not actually Greyhound lol
Southeastern Stages is in a partnership with Greyhound for bus services in SC, Georgia, and parts of NC. Whenever their drivers made announcements, they say "on behalf of greyhound, like to thank you for riding with us". Buses with Greyhound makes do come to the station, but only ones that are heading to Charlotte and Jacksonville.
