Anthony l. I had my very first ride on one last May from Oakland to Sacramento and man it was way better than riding the MCI D4505 units. At least this sound like real buses and darn near sound like Series 60s compared to the modern day MCIs too
prevost is just the top of the line!!!!! MCI is just the workhorse of the bunch!!! vanhool has to grow on me.. but that Cummins M11 plus sounds amazing behind that hool omg!!!!!
@seansuth I've never driven one. I figured with the Independent suspension any comparable bus would drive similar. The bus is more low profile in appearance, not sure where the air bellows are mounted, but on the DL3 they are mounted outboard right above the wheels. Not sure how to compare, the DL3's are my favorite. All new Prevost's now have the Volvo D13 in them. I've heard many, many problems about them. Them. No more Series 60's made now.
Greyhound will be abandoning all of Western Canada in October. Not sure if that is a loss a there coaches are for the most part old and in poor condition. It looks like local companies will take up the slack here in Alberta E-Bus will be adding some roots out of Edmonton and they are branching out to Vancouver B.C. to run to Kelowna and Kamloops.
Lawrence Cherry Lol nope not at all. The same way people are obsessed and enthusiastic about cars and motorbikes are no different than how we are with Greyhound buses and city buses too
I always tried to avoid Greyhound bus transportation, heard a lot of horror stories. Long trips with rude ride alongs switching buses when you are just trying to get home or wherever. Plus a lot of them stink of piss and etc.
In the 1950's and thru 1970's you never saw the door motor open at the station this was a NO NO! This should always been done to Greyhound coaches AT the GARAGE only! Washing of buses done at the garage only. REAR Mud flaps on many of the coaches have been 'cut' off I guess so maint can service the coaches better. This is an absolute NO NO! and should be stoppted ASAP!
Greyhound Coach Buses are not being maintain well. Grill hole missing in the rear of the coaches, left rear flaps are missing on many of the coaches. Canada does a better job of controlling their cleaniness than USA. Canada is leading, USA Greyhound owners just don't care about the up keep and maintenance of their buses. Many of the Greyhounds buses are DIRTY, need washing.
It was a HUGE mistake for Greyhound designers to use WHITE as their delivery colors. It showed dirt more, and dents from rocks, and this was a dumb color scheme. Greyhound executive have their heads in the clouds!!
New York should never get them because all of there Greyhound coaches are not maintain very good. Dirty, dirty wheel well.... The Vice President of Greyhound maintenace should be made aware and visit some of these termnals.

that Volvo d13 engine gives me goosebumps when it shifts when its being accelerated

Actually, the first Prevosts delivered were in the 8800 series and around the New York City area primarily.
Great bus action!

XL-II are dreams to drive. Just like the bigger brother, the H3, but has less cross wind roll. I miss driving them really

Wow! Great catch on the buses!
Is it weird that we all have an obsession with Greyhound buses?
I'm not sure seem like it. Lol I'll like to be a driver for a day

Considering these buses go across the dang continent, you expect it to smell like roses or something?
Il❤ Greyhound 😊
@studpuppy69, the X3-45 is basically an updated Le Mirage XL II.
This Tampa station now closed.
@seansuth Turn's out this is an X3-45. I still haven't gotten over the name change.
Have you ever driven the McI 102 dl3 or the d4500?

High thief and stoleaways should make Greyhound wary of leaving any coach doors open.

Before I saw your comment, I was thinking the exact same thing. That was a very poor color schema.
Chesterbarnes1 Also not to mention how bland they looked in the white color scheme

Id stick with peter pan.
The maintenance door should never be open in sight of the traveling public. This should been done at the maintenence garage.
@Chesterbarnes1, wellcome to the future, where everyone everywhere is bent on saving time, money, and "face" (lol).
