Asolutely helpful, I've had issues with this since I started modding and it's been holding me back as no one truly went in-depth. But of course Captain Xavier gets the job done and now I can get my projects going, many thanks.

Good to see the basics. We experienced moders often forget to explain them.

Cap, I just want to say I enjoy your videos so much and I love that you are silly and whimsical. I’ve recently starting my own nerf collection, at the tender age of almost 40, and decided to attempt to make my own video on modifying an elite Rayven. Once I get the 2 parts I need from @outofdarts I’ll finish filming. Thanks for being so awesome

    Thanks for that,
Ive contemplated doing one or two of those springs but was not confident of the whole process till now.

Thank you so much for posting this. I did it! I had to use a pair of vice grips to hold two coils of the spring (the vice grips could not grip one coil) at the other end. With that in place, I could pull the coil out enough to start unwinding, but even that took some effort.
I'm concerned that a stronger spring will damage the catching mechanism and plunger so I'm thinking of going no higher than 7.5kg.

this really would have been helpful to me a week ago when I tried to mod my bigshock and probably broke it

I remember attempting this without pliers when I was like 11 and cutting my hand by accident. Really like this series.

I totally ruined (to either point where the blaster wouldn’t easily catch) the plunger rod of a Big Shock threading K26. But maybe with more practice I can do it without doing so much damage. Is there a technique for heavy springs? I just ended up cutting the t-pull off to swap springs on the next Big Shock I modded. I re-attached the handle with a machine screw.

Short and sweet! I like it

When putting the spring back on, I’ve had good luck just starting the spring on the rod on any random section of the coil (and working both directions). The principle is the same but the last loop tends to be very tight and difficult to open.

It is almost like there should be a tool to remove these types of plungers sold. Something like the tool for removing fuel lines on auto.

Captain Xavier It would be a good idea if you could make a video on how to lubricate the plunger tube, what type of lubricant you have to use and in which parts are necessary to put lubricant, it would be very helpful since I hardly find videos on the subject and thanks for the video as always keep up the good work

Buy "superlube" from OutofDarts.com and put it on the o-ring.
