Thank you for all this wonderful information! I don't have access to stronger springs so this is almost the only way I can mod my blasters.
I just started doing the same myself and this is actually a pretty smart solution, especially if you have geared blasters that can't take too much pressure, but get just enough of an upgrade for a slight boost.
gotta love the video breaking due to an unholy amount of springs
Very helpful Captain, and it helps solve the age old problem of Thrifting Blasters for a few bucks, and wanting to upgrade them, but not wanting to spend 6-10 bucks on a spring, and Another 9 dollars on shipping, for a blaster that only cost ya 3 bucks !
I guess spring prices are pretty reasonable, but shipping can often triple or even quadruple the cost of getting the springs into my grubby-little hands, which is nobody's fault, not even the Romans'.
Literly like 2 weeks ago I was wondering how this was done and how it works exactly. After searching for videos I couldn't find any and read something on reddit. This. This is way better. Better late than never.
I just used this video to double up my x-shot longshot springs. Between that and the work I did to improve the air seal, and a flawless plunger tube (so far) it is now hitting like a truck!
Tinkering with springers can be tough, thanks for the tutorial. Bangarang!
Using a spring I found from Ace hardware, I forget the exact size, and a stock spring from an X-Shot Reflex 6, I was able to double the two up to use in my Rival Takedown which has made a significant difference in performance.
I then recently came across a Nerf Stampede and after a clean rewire, I doubled the return spring with another Ace Hardware spring, and discovered you can in fact double up the stock firing spring with a stock spring from a Nerf Retaliator! Big enough to fit over the plunger rod, small enough to fit inside the Stampede spring, and weak enough to not break anything!
Update: Upgraded a Nerf Zombie Strike Longshot and managed to get 2 additional springs from a Takedown and a Retaliator installed along with the stock Longshot spring, and still have enough space for a 4th spring if i can find one.
Thank you for the video!
Yes bring us more of the mod tips
Nice! Love seeing a new video in this series
Thanks a lot I didn't know i could thred 2 identical springs together that well. Lucky I have 2 rampages and one of them is already taken apart so I have everything I need to upgrade the blaster.
Thank you for the video captain! I posted a question on the last video you uploaded have you seen it?
1:18 Oh my god the bit rate
Thank you for the video captain. I posted a comment on your mk3 upgrade by out of darts video. Thoughts?
This is one of those simple old questions that probably gets/got angry "JFGI, Bro!" "UsE tHe SeArCh FuNcT10n" Comments and replies on forums
Thank you, ser!
Double spring mod is my technique. I done it many times already.
i found that a chronos spring fits perfectly inyo the pilot spring. no cutting. could you try it and check the performance?
I wonder if conical springs will work? About to find out I guess...
The camera cannot handle that amount of springs
Captain, Can you show us how to properly open a Zuru X Shot Max attack to replace a spring
Well given that, as far as I know, I do not have one...no.
How would you thread over a plunger head like on the firestrike
Thread on one. Then thread on the other.
Are you planning to do a mod tips video on single trigger flywheel guns like the nightingale?
And talk about what exactly? Do you have a specific question about them?
@@CaptainXavier how exactly to wire them and explaining how the internals work
@Liam Hamelly ah, yeah, I can put that on the list. It is rather interesting.
Have you ever brassed a jolt?
Yes
Yay
No i just need an extra second stampede, rapidstrike, 3 stryfe, 4 maverick, and 1 nightstrike to pull springs from....lol
