Excellent video as always. Have you noticed that many churches have different shaped windows. For example, in the church in this video, some windows are arched and some are pointed arched.
I hope Logan got his Cameraman's Assistant reward at the S&Q Dave. It really is a spectacular stretch of coastline all the way from Kimmeridge, right around to Durlston Country Park, perfect for spring/early summer (strenuous) walks. All good for the body and soul.
I think you and Logan surpassed yourselves on this one Dave. I would have had a job dragging myself away from those waves in the quarry. Just beautiful - thank you so much.
Great video Dave as always 😊. One highlight for me is the National Trust - Spyway and the sauropod footprints in the rock right before the Seacombe Cliff turn off to the east 👍
What a gorgeous day for a walk Dave. Such beautiful scenery and a wonderful church. This is a splendid area and just makes you appreciate the beauty of the countryside in England. A beautiful country. Thanks Dave and Logan for a lovely walk. 👏🏻💕
@@melissaphillips3088 I think my favourite place is Ashley Walk on the New Forest. There are areas there that are "out of the way" that few folk go to & so it is very peaceful.
Such a lovely day for a walk in the countryside and down to the sea. Thanks for the talking as well. I hadn't heard of the SW Coast path before so I was glad to see a bit of that as well. -H
Hi Dave. I discovered your videos a couple of days ago and have binge watched several of the Dorset ones. I was born and brought up in Dorchester, but I've been living (and working) in Spain for 40 years now. Get back to Dorset at least twice a year and you've inspired me to get out and about there following some of your walks. Thanks a lot for the history of a wonderful county.
Brought back lots of memories for me from walks in that area. I spotted canon from the cliffs but never been down to it. The sea thrift was looking very pretty on the cliffs there at Seacombe too. Loads of interesting information in video too. Thank you.
There IS a canon!! About 15 years ago a small group of us went to the Square and Compass in Worth Matravers. We were celebrating one of the lads' 40th which coincided with the Pumpkin Festival. Heavily intoxicated we then went for a midnight stumble down to the cliffs, I fell asleep on a mound in the quarry. I have a clear memory of a canon but none of my mates could remember it and we concluded that I had dreamed it. I've never made it back to check but you've confirmed it for me. Thank you Dave. Ps drunk by cliffs is a bad idea.....😮
I'm glad you found the cannon. We saw it years ago when camping near Langton Matravers. We enjoyed walks along the priest's way all the way to the sea. Beautiful scenery. 😊
Lovely day for a walk at Worth Dave. I grew up in Langton, the next village down the road. I went to school with someone who lived in one of the coastguard cottages. I didn't know about the Allan Williams Turret - I must go and see if I can find it. This is Rob from The Country Traveller. I've set up this channel 'Living in The New Forest' to try and get more traction behind my 'New Forest' videos, which aren't getting enough views. I'm friends with you now on this new channel :) All the best, Rob
Another great walk, Dave. I'm hoping you might make a few more visits to my birth county of Sussex in the coming months, but all the walks are beautiful anyway.
What a lovely walk you earned your pint on that walk up hill back we have driven through that village when we stayed at swanage . Why did the quarry close? God bless. Ralph and Sheila
It was certainly an undulating walk! I am not sure of the reason for the closure of the quarry .... it would not have been an easy way to take to the stone away (by sea) so maybe it had something to do with cost?
Great video. I do enjoy watching your walks, especially as I live in Purbeck. By the way, there are three of the Allan Williams turrets in Purbeck, the one you found at Seacombe, one at Worbarrow bay and one on Studland heath.
Thank you Kevin. Yes, I recall seeing the one at Worborrow (just off the SWCP near the beach from memory) when I was on the Tyneham walk ( I wish I had filmed it now!) but I didn't know about there being one at Studland Heath .... I will have to check that one out some time! Thanks for the information.
@@DaveFord it was fab thanks. Wonderful that you remind me of all these beautiful places ( I’ve lived in Dorset for 38 years) because we tend to take them for granted. Love seeing Logan too although makes me miss Swifty my greyhound who loved these walks ( but only on a dry day 🤣)
I forgot to mention that not being very familiar with gun terminology, I had a momentary vision of a line of vicars in their dog collars sat in that pill box! i
Happy memories of me, my wife and Ben our dog walking all over the Dorset coast. Those days are all gone now, but still the memories.
Glad that it brought back lovely memories for you. Thanks for watching.
Excellent video as always. Have you noticed that many churches have different shaped windows. For example, in the church in this video, some windows are arched and some are pointed arched.
Thank you. Yes, there is so much variety in the architecture of churches in the UK. I find that is what makes exploring them so interesting.
Thank you for this lovely tour!
Thank you & indeed thanks for watching.
Done this walk when I was much very much younger. Bought back happy memories. Thank you for the pleasure you bring through your video's.
Thank you Bev & indeed thanks for watching.

Thanks. Oh yes, Logan certainly had his share of the pasty!

Oh yes, we got to explore those footprints on our "Dancing Ledge" video - they were amazing . ua-cam.com/video/OcRvIeipsFw/v-deo.html
Just the best filmography, thank you Dave and Logan 👏😊
Thank you Matt.

Thank you Melissa. We were so lucky with the weather that day.

Thoroughly enjoyed this Dave. Beautiful views on a gorgeous day for it. Thanks for taking us on this great walk.

Thank you. We had great weather for that walk for sure.
I admire Dorset! Dave I`m glad I`m ready to watch all your videos. Logan - darling. Love you and British countryside.
Thank you. I hope that you enjoy the future videos in the series. Thanks for watching.

Thank you. There are some great sections of the South West Coast Path around that part of the Jurassic Coast.

Yes indeed. Those "coastal" walks always look so much better with blue sky & deep blue sea!
Brought back lots of memories for me from walks in that area. I spotted canon from the cliffs but never been down to it. The sea thrift was looking very pretty on the cliffs there at Seacombe too. Loads of interesting information in video too. Thank you.
Thanks Jean. Yes, it was quite a climb down (and back up) to check out that cannon!

Another fab video/walk. Thank you for creating and sharing

I think it is criminal that you don't have a million subscribers.
I am always amazed that even 3.7K or so folk are happy to watch an old chap & his dog wandering about the countryside!

Thanks Jim. I have a handful of "West Sussex" walks planned for later this year.

The walk was stunning in dorset
It is such a stunning coastline around there Keith for sure.
Fabulous Norman Arch in the church Dave ? Great video !
Thanks Geoff. Yes, very typical design for the Norman era for sure.
