The VA of Rayvis did such a fantastic job, absolutely nailed the whole "Ancieunt warrior looking for an honorable death" thing going on here with Rayvis' emotions. This video also reminds me to use Force parry more often, didn't realize it was that effective vs unblockables, I usually just dodge lol.
In this game, there is a secret boss even more horrifying than Malenia (on GM difficulty). Oggdo Bogdo and his son. This is not a joke. Every single attack is an unblockable oneshot. Looking forward to seeing how he does that one.
Not gonna lie Rayvis was the first boss fight I actually felt like I needed to focus for even on Grandmaster. I genuinely think he’s one of the most interesting characters in the game while Dagan feels like all he brings is his surface value. Even Rayvis’s lines during his fight give more depth to his character over the rest of the bosses who just throw insults at you.
Personally, I enjoyed learning Rayvis's move set. Parrying his attacks was satisfying for some reason, and I got to learn a couple tricks after watching your video! Cool
Just did this fight yesterday, it is the highlight of the game for me. Really fun and exciting fight. I didn't do the final boss yet and I think it won't be as good in comparison as Rayvis set a high standard.
yeah standing still and pressing parry and the same attack button over and over is really fun and exciting lol truly a highlight of the combat design in this game
Shura couldn't hang on to the frayed ends of his sanity and totally lost it, now mf is haunting these alien creatures because "fcuk Japan and Sengoku shit era".
The parry push vs the unblockable overhead is the definition of “you’re only crazy if it doesn’t work. “ Edit: here now on Grand Master, you can Parry Push all red unblockable attacks, the timing is weird on the spinning one but it’s doable. Thank you Ongbal , because of you, I use every technique at my disposal.
Point blank blaster style does it too, just did a run where I tried it out on Rayvis a few times for extra disrespect. It does the same thing push parry does plus damage. I was messing with a Devil May Cry playstyle where I would do point blank, switched to crossguard and then hit a power swing. Although there were a couple times where it hit the point blank parry but he still did damage, but that's only if I were a couple frames late.
The only change i wanted from fallen order was the parrying to be more like sekiro. And they delivered, I love the combat in this game despite performance issues. Hyped to see your bode vid ONGBAL
JEH-DAII Really impressive fight, you never let up on him once. I haven’t played these new star wars games but the combat seems really smooth and satisfying
Ongbal, what game are you most looking forward to playing next? I would be interested to know. Seeing you master armored core 6 would be quite a sight im sure many would agree. Have a good one man! Thanks for all the videos
Amazing performance! I feel a bit of disappointment that they basically did nothing to the animation for parries. You parried perfectly and were super aggressive, which is truly impressive, but visually, it just looks like someone turned invincibility on. Every attack the enemy does still completes and goes right through you and your character gets knocked back from the parry as well.
Rayvis in particular is like that when it comes to parries. Other lightsaber bosses do have some counter-parry sequences or reactions. Or that is how I remember them to be. I think they did this to portray Rayvis's brute strength and endurance because he doesn't get staggered from saber attacks either.
Never played this series. Animation looks terrible if he had no damage. Def looks like invincible glitch. They don’t have animations down pat. Not going to buy if stuff looks like this. Amazing skills
Happens in allot of the fights, particularly the ones coming up. The game forces cut scenes mid fight and it’s moves your character out of position to do so. Really wrecks momentum
I literally attempted to beat him on Jedi Master for about an hour or so before I gave up and lowered the difficulty. Died like 20 times, could never get past the second part. The only boss I had to do that for. Made me just about rage quit. Don’t know how you made this look so effortless Lol. Good job
If anyone is thinking about playing the game for yourself, do yourself a favor and play on grand master difficulty off the start. It will take some time to get used to but it’s way more enjoyable and honestly I haven’t even bothered to play it any other way because of how much fun I’ve been having.
Oh man...i did a dual saber and double blade combo. Dual for the fight. Double literally for the blaster deflecting and getting more force. Took me 6hrs on my first time playthru but this video helped me so much! Initially i was just dodging and i started playing more offensively after watching this video.
what i love the most about dark souls/bloodborne/sekiro/elden ring is that bosses just shut the fuck up. there are guttural roars, bellows of anger, and animal cries, but otherwise when you're fighting the boss they're aren't spouting nonsense for the entire fight. my biggest gripe with these star wars and god of war games is just how much they're talking. great gameplay though.
I LOVE THIS BOSS FIGHT. This is the most sekiro-like boss fight, as rayvis doesn't get staggered after 1 parry, and the attacks just keep coming. This is probably why a lot of people got caught off-guard and deemed this the hardest bossfight in the game. Also force push parry completely trivializes the fight, as It staggers rayvis, which is why I never use it. Sorry for my little rant, I just really enjoy this fight, another good one is bode boss fight, as it's another parry heavy boss.
Gendai like rayvis are ALL op asf, Durge should be comparable to rayvis at least. Cal does also have scaling to be comparable to attack of the clones obi wan
You’re actually insane. Just started this game, and this boss fight frustrated the hell of me, took me like an hour. The first half of the fight was easy could do that without taking damage, but the second half was annoying.
I wanna see this done with the cross guard stance. I feel that for the last part of the game i was forced to use the dual sabers because you can animation cancel attacks to parry, and all the other weapons cant. Feels like a HUGE limitation to the other stances, especially cross guard which is super slow
Even in the galaxy far far away, Onbal's blade will strike true.
He plays with no hesitation thats why
Hesitation is defeat.
Lmao
As long as there is a parry mechanic you know this guy will pick up the game, become a god with it and make a banger of a fight 🙌
Honestly I hate the parry mechanic in games especially this one
@@ohyeee7003This one especially because it feels sluggish and inconsistent. Sekiro's parry system is perfect.

I fought him using only the cross-guard. Made it much more fun
When the cutscene MC fights worse than the player MC
Never thought I would be spoiled by Ongbal but here we are. I have to watch this.
He uploaded radagon the 3rd day the game released or something like that, I'll have to block him by the time DLC comes out lol
Not really a spoiler when the trailers clearly showed that Rayvis would be one of the main bosses
He's preparing for Rick the Door technician
Always great ta see you getting to have fun and testing out your skills in a new game!

All the bosses from Rayvis to the end of the game are excellent. Not sure who I'd put on top just yet, I think I'd need another run to know for sure.
This fight is amazing, he’s a very interesting character.
Don't worry. All bosses fights in this game are amazing.

In the hands of Ongbal, Cal Kestis is a master of all lightsaber forms. Here, he demonstrates his mastery of Forms III, V, and VI.
This boss was so rewarding to defeat because its extremely fair, but just a massive endurance race. How long can you not mess up for?
The grand master of all time!
*Rayvis:* They denied me a warrior’s death!
*Also Rayvis:* Stop! I yield!
Doods a mix of a Viking and Samurai being a warrior from a time long ago.

"Controlled flailing."

Haha love how he says “Jedi” like he’s disgusted or insulting him but the delivery by the voice actor was great. His whole role was great.
You can only play like that with dual wield saber, because you can cancel attacks mid-swing to immediately parry. Other styles can't cancel like that.
A unexpected but welcome surprise didn't think I'd see him play this.

I see too many people playing this game trying to treat the parry mechanic as optional. Bosses like Rayvis filter them pretty hard.
I wonder how much he'd actually be able to say if every stagger cut him off.
