READ: The scythe ability now has a longer cooldown period in between hits (new patch), allowing you to use casts 2/3 more frequently. Consider placing it further down the bar if the bars in this video no longer function as intended. Example abyssal savage bar: Death skulls> Soul sap > Soul strike > Scythe > Ghost
NOTE/EDIT: The horror event has been fixed. You'll now see green smoke on top of the pad.
NOTE/EDIT2: You can apparently do boss masses with loot share and the top ~16 players will be able to get a fragment drop at Nex.

I came to the game foe the first time because of necromancer. I have nothing done. But I've been following your guide and appreciate it.
I've had to watch it 12x because I don't understand much of the lingo used but I'm learning
As an FYI - if you're using the ritual method he touches on at 23:03, the best xp you can get is using a tier 3 ritual and hitting 700% attraction.
Did they patch the xp rate on high tier rituals? On the patch notes it says they adjusted xp for the random events for the rituals.
@@findponcho In the notes it says that updates was actually made last Wednesday, so you shouldn't see any different xp rates than the people that have been doing that all weekend.

Eric, love your guide here. Would be great to have weapon augmentation perk suggestions at the various levels. Also thanks for showing your revolution bars. I tended to "auto setup" these as I wasn't sure what to use and they seemed to be pretty bad.
I personally used the usual perks. Might not be best in slot but they are very good
Weapon 1: Precise 6
Weapon 2: Aftershock 4/Ruthless 1 (I had one of these lying around)
Armour 1: Crackling 4 Undead slayer
Armour 2: Enhanced devoted 4
Armour 3: Biting 2 Demon slayer
Armour 4: Impatient 4
Also note that 6:00 not only does it keep your inventory clean but it means right clicking and "repairing all" and doing new rituals will automatically consume the items instead of you having to do it more manually.
This is hands down the best guide of all time.

For those unable to spawn Mogres with Explosives. You need to do the miniquest Mogre (miniquest)
I didn't do the mini quest but was able to get their drop

some things to note,
mogres mini quest is required to be able to kill mogres to get the flippers
sometimes flippers wont drop, and you have to return to the necromancy smithy and repeat AND FINISH the dialogue to be able to get the flippers drop
after using the ankou agitator, killing the ankou is not required, although they will become aggressive towards you. use the agitator enough times, and eventually a level 70-something ankou will spawn (a stronger variant). this stronger variant ankou has to be killed and is the ankou that will drop the ankou residue.

Shambling horror already hotfixed! The sparkles replaced with green smoke
16:00 I'd also mention that the kiln cape is not just decent, it's second to BIS stat wise so it's not a bad cape at that level. Prior to that I found skillcapes or the ardougne cloak decent alternatives, though the soul cloaks from Memory of Nomad are of course the fashionable choice if you want to cut a few damage points in favor of prayer bonus. I'd also say on the topic of prayers *stop being stubborn and swap back to regular prayers until level 90.* Necromancer-piety and prot prayers is way better than leech curses for training.
i went from 66 to 70 with lamps in seconds i never felt so guilty but i laughed and thought i got ahead of myself for level 70 gear, souls i need as of this comment. But you've been a great help with getting me caught up after returning to RS. we owe you a pint
For ankous: You need to hit around 5-10 of them with the 'Ankou Agitator' then a level 72 bigger looking ankou will spawn. You need to kill it for it to drop the 'Ankou Residue' which you need for the tier 60 miniquest from kili.

a useful thing me and a few clan mates found. Hermod can be massed too and drops individual loot for all players in the instance. It's good grinding out your plates like this as he's also pretty good combat xp because his health scales and when he spawns minions you can use the threads of fate incantation into finger of death for great aoe necro damage/xp each time. cheers and good luck on the grind yall
For T90 upgrades, for those that don't know:
Araxxor you can dart both phases and use the cloth on the corps.
You can kill telos at 0% enrage easily, and dart the last phase to get the drop. (I don't boss, before this I killed Bandos in gwd1 in like 09, this was new and I did it first try).
For the Ambassador you can dart the first 2 bosses, go with a friend and tag the boss with necromancy once, then he can dart or kill him with whatever and you will get the drop.
What does darting mean? I’m an old player returning.
death touch dart, a treasure trail item/sometimes daily challenge reward at the 21/21 and it insta kills a boss/phase.@@zigzagsk8

10:18 I recommend going to the ankou room with the skeletons, not the ghosts. More enemies come closer since they're all melee

Bound skeleton's aren't too bad to afk if you can keep prayer up. It's about 400k an hr xp in POD. and pretty afk. They also drop a lot of super restore (1) so you can keep prayer up without using a ton of your own resources.
This man creates the best runescape content i swear. I need a video on how to have patience to go from 1-99 lol idk how you do it i cant wait that long tell me how you do it

For the level 60 miniquest where you fight "at least level 70" enemies I went with abberant spectres since they're also vulnerable to the ghost hunter outfit and salve(e) which will help your accuracy since you're fighting something higher than your necro level. That outfit is also incredible for the mid tier necro boss. Between it and the salve(e) you will tear through him.

FYI for 21:35 , You can completely afk at Abyssal Savages with a dragonhorn (or split dragontooth) necklace, 3 pieces of cryptbloom for Animate Dead (I went head/boots/gloves) and protection from magic prayer on only. You can revo Putrid Zombie (you should have the detonate talent point at this time), Scythe, Soul Strike, Vengeful Ghost, Death Skulls, and Soul Sap in that order to afk. Just in case, added one more slot for soul siphon, but I did not need it. I did this from 70 to 80 Necromancy and it was amazing. Will probably continue to do it until 99! Allows for at least 5 minute afk timers for overloads, but I would try and keep 2 rolling for the animate dead timer.
Putrid zombie aoe part of it ability count as poison damage and reduce experience, I notice it otherday cuz I notice exp tick was off. I assume that why hermod isn't immune as gotta make sure all necromancy abilities/familars are able to work properly.. so mean they gotta make him vul. to it. Maybe if struggle kill it help speed up doesn't matter , but maybe need consider it. Yeah ghostly essence is new ink ..... shit wont buy for me ,came back work mid price increase more then my +20% offer. RIP life

This may be obvious but you can use overloads to boost your necro lvl significantly, since it is indeed a combat skill. Helps get those glyphs pretty early especially with elder overloads ;)
However, caution should be taken with the potential cost of the over loads. At lv 60 I would say normal necro potions are good enough. Save the higher boost overloads for accessing the multiply 3 glyph.

I’ve just returned to RuneScape after about a 10 year hiatus and boy did a lot change. I started off with about a month or so of just using legacy in f2p mainly to level up ranged to match it with my other combat skills while I familiarized myself with the new mechanics. My next step is to get necromancy up once I become p2p. These guides have been so helpful in explaining what’s available now. Plus the explanation of abilities is super helpful for someone who has been gone as long as I have.
One this is for certain; it’s SO much easier to level up now.
I came back about a two years ago and I still get so overwhelmed with the amount of information/things to remember when training things like necromancy. It’s a lot.. lol

Correction you'll get the fragments from nex regardless, but you won't get the normal drops . So you just have to attack next during all 4 phases but you don't need to be the one doing the most damage
I personally recommend holding off on using mementos and the other hard to get bones until you can max out the ritual with Multiply 3 glyphs. You're not getting very many of them yourself, and it's gonna take a good while for the price to settle out.

Great idea doing the tier 80 tank armour first for the weapon upgrades I’ve been getting ruined by Nex with the tier 70 gear it’s been so frustrating
You doing Nex solo? I dont boss nor know anyone that does. Curious if its feasible.
And note on the mogre flippers a fair amount of people don't know that still requires the Skippy and the Mogres miniquest that starts on a nearby shore to Rimmington by throwing a bucket of water on the wandering drunk guy.
If you have the right gear, mainly the Ghost Hunter Equipment, you can start Shadow Warriors at a much lower level. It is awesome.
@ProtoxxGaming, you should put a PSA out for scammers trying to sell off Soda Ash as regular Ash. Saw someone trying to do that at the GE today and called them out. You have a large following and could help someone out! Keep up the great work 🤝

I’d like to recommend Scav Farming for early leveling as Necromancy has a good amount of aoe and can get decent experience while also getting them tasty invention mats 👌🏼 Lumby Catacombs is the place to be

80-90 in every skill is such the slowest grind!
ive had great xp at my slayer dungeon with 5 bound skeletons from 70-90 not spending much and using demon horn necklace for inf prayer, super AFK
Just FYI, my brother and I did Nex yesterday and we both were receiving fragments each kill.
@Protoxx I’d like to add the update today fixed the nex part of the power armour. If your on loot share you get the piece 100% of the time and if there are multiple eligible people in the group everyone gets a piece.

Everyone on release: "How can we use the t95 gear then? WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!"
In my experience if you're wanting to save time without annihilating your cash stack, buy *necroplasm.* A fair amount of people are selling it since it's easy to make and you get respectable necro xp while making it. The part everyone is trying to avoid that they pay so much extra for is making the individual vials of ink. Unfortunately it's not herblore so none of the procs to save items work on it, but it's a lot less time consuming if you already have the necroplasm off the GE and go to either the abyss or haunted mine mushrooms for quick ashes.
The last thing you want is to be saying "damn, I need to make more ink" and have that start with changing your entire glyph setup into ink production, which of course costs _even more ink._
Inversely of course, if you don't care about leveling fast, _make and sell ink to lazy people._ The higher the better.
Dang, it used to just be swing a sword at a cow. Lot to soak in with this new combat skill.
Was doing kril after level 72 power amour. Had 40 seconds per kill with BiS and perks.
At 80 was 30 seconds.
At 90, just the weapons t90, it's from 15-25 seconds a kill. 15m an hour with the rates of subj rn.
solid 300m+ gain with 120k+ xp hour. Nbd nbd.
I would have liked to see what gear you're rockin to get started with this
being ironman i decided to make a little calculator for the rituals. my math comes out to roughly 900 powerful communions and the various rituals needed to make the ink for them to go from 90 to 99. is kinda nice to know i just gotta hunt enough dinos to get those bones now.
The Abyss is not bad afk if you can get a spot, you bring a GOTE and a Backpack full of porters and you can get 300K+ xp an hr an tons of ashs... More rewarding that dropping fungal because you actually get xp.

For me my combat training has been trying to get bladed dive. It’s great xp and agrro isn’t a big issue shattered worlds has been fun
Please know that u can get an ability called "dive" from the succession quest.
It works without weapons but deals no damage
I think you still need to have bladed dive unlocked to access the dive ability though

Deathwarden tank armor makes Nex an absolute cake walk. Hardly any damage taken, and a lot of damage issued. Just spawn your skeleton and ghost, ezpz.
Hi there Eric, was curious with the new necro update, can you still Dart the bosses for the unique drops for the Krili's upgrade progression?
As long as someone else darts it for you yes, I did not see any fixes in the patch notes.
Would you recommend using the Guardian's gift on perks for augmenting the necro gear? If so, what gear and which perks?
The boss requirements for the power Armour are killing me on my mountain man internet. I cant play content that requires timing :/
Agreed. It would have been better to make Kili's tasks Comp requirements BUT let the rest of us that can't do the bossing requirements just buy the armor OR Give an alternate way of doing the tasks

I grinded Hermod from 85-90 and had insane xp/hr. Only had T-70 Armor and T-80 Power Death Guard/Skull Lantern
