Yeah, but this needed to appeal to a wide audience, so that ended up not really being feasible, especially since plenty of Carrey’s fanbase extended to younger people after Ace Ventura.

I know there was also an extension when he first came to the garage for his car, he got out of a cab that he was riding with Charlie, when he got there, Stanley: I'm uh here for the Civic. Fat guy: Oh you mean that snot green Civic?(In the original script "Pea Soup" green) Stanley: Well, actually they call it "Emerald Forest."
There's always the stigma of adaptations that strayed from the original source. But in this case it kinda worked. A Nightmare on Elm Street esque The Mask could've been interesting, but it'd probably be another forgettable 90s slasher. The one we got was a timeless movie that appealed to a much larger crowd. But honestly, you gotta wonder what it would've looked like for a real life version of where Ipkiss obliterated the gang into pink mist with his Tommy gun, and shoved a muffler into one of the mechanic's head?...
I don't feel sorry for those guys. They probably conned him with the brake pumps and transmission thing to get more money. They didn't even discuss it with him first.
Lol at 1:18 when they look really scared I have to feel a little sorry for them, then I remember they ripped Stanley off like complete assholes, that's when I change my mind
I bet! Not to mention the complete renovation of the auto-shop! Something like this. Once the mask tornado starts up, the mechanics start backing up and trying to run around the shop, seemingly aiming for some backdoor to escape from. Meanwhile the camera start slowly tilting up towards that hanging bulb that's bobbing around from the chaos below. From the noises heard, the mechanics don't manage to get very far, since the whirlwind seemed to overtake them. We see some of the mask's deeds via a shadow play on the wall. We hear fabric ripping in the midst of the whipping winds. We see a witness watching on in horror, catching it on camcorder while covering their friend's eyes. While we don't directly see the insertion, we do hear the mechanics' pained cries and screams implying the act. We see papers being strewn about, we hear glass breaking, we see The Mask picking up some spray cans with his tornado winds. The shadow play reveals him now spraying the mechanics.
Nah, I don't. I think the timing of the joke is lost with that bit. It's much funnier when it goes right from the Mask saying he's got something to take care of, to him busting down the doors and threatning them
They should've kept that on there & the original comic book was no Surprise cause he ended up killing them but it does look like the tradition of the ADDAMS FAMILY FILM
A lot of the stuff cut is what makes this feel more closer to the Comics, honestly.

HOLD ON TO YOUR LUGNUTS IT'S TIME FOR AN OVERHAUL!!!
You know overhaul means take apart

That’s still the funniest quote ever
What does he say between this part and "sounds like you've got a little exhaust problem there" ?
1:08 I hear Beetlejuice music by Danny Elfman.
OH MY GOD, IT IS!

We need an extended cut for the 30th anniverary
Serves those guys right because they gave Stanley the worst car ever.
Your emissions exceed community standards mister!
1:00 - :04 to pick up the ace.

I ve seen this a million times had no idea there was a deleted scene
Probably because it looked dark when he enter the garage
According to this, sfy.ru/?script=mask, there is, or at least, there was supposed to be even more!
Same here. 😮
0:21 neither have I.
Scary how he appeared.
If you haven't do anything wrong to him, i don't think so..
The mask did that because the mechanics didn’t do their job which is the oil change and of course the “loner” lol
That’s what they get for ripping Stanley off for buying a used car
0:54 yes, they did.
This is one of the reasons I'm a fan of Chris Nolan: he NEVER EVER abandones full scenes he shot!

Nasty pea soup green.

@@scifinerd17 It was supposed to be a Citroen, not even fixed and refurbished.

I’m sure there’s still more to this scene that’s missing that was cut from theatres ie:- them getting the exhausts ‘Inserted’ and spray painted etc.

But first: Attack the "car mechanics" with mufflers👍👍😁😁
they should have kept this in the scene
I see, its a deleted scene! 😉
Not that the film is a master piece already! I just think this would have added a bit more to it

Why does this scene sound better with Danny Elfman music?
1:10 I have no idea how they added Danny Elfman.
Me neither
0:55-0:56 What's that sound?
One of them farted.
I think the mechanics the Ripley's Brothers liv and Burt deserve that for ripping him off
The comic was brutal. Both of them died.
What is taking you so long?
I'm sorry but there has been a death in the family so my highest priority has not been on the 100 Sub Special, but i did upload this video for now!
This better and why the mask did at
I wonder why did the mask went to the car dealership
