FILM DESCRIPTION:
When timid bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey) discovers a magical mask containing the spirit of the Norse god Loki, his entire life changes. While wearing the mask, Ipkiss becomes a supernatural playboy exuding charm and confidence which allows him to catch the eye of local nightclub singer Tina Carlyle (Cameron Diaz). Unfortunately, under the mask's influence, Ipkiss also robs a bank, which angers junior crime lord Dorian Tyrell (Peter Greene), whose goons get blamed for the heist.

The oversized teeth on the Mask character were originally to be used only during silent scenes. However, Jim Carrey learned to talk with them on to make his character that much more wacky

There's still a more prominent touch of horror in his screams as the mask takes hold, to me as a kid i had no idea which direction this movie was going with that. I was almost expecting a cartoony serial killer flick.

One of my top five favorite movies of Jim Carrey's (like the first Dumb and Dumber movie, along with Liar Liar, The Truman Show, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind for instance) and Cameron Diaz's (like There's Something about Mary, My Best Friend's Wedding, the first Shrek movie, and Gangs of New York for instance). Also, the "Smokin!" is one of my favorite lines by Jim Carrey in the movie The Mask. Also, I would recommend Passenger 57 with Wesley Snipes if you can upload it, along with Wyatt Earp with Kevin Costner, Gene Hackman, and Dennis Quaid, Drugstore Cowboy with Matt Dillon and Kelly Lynch, Bright Lights, Big City with Michael J. Fox, Rob Reiner's Stand by Me, The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston, American Psycho with Christian Bale, and those two Robert Altman films (like The Player and Short Cuts for instance).

No one -- _no one_ -- could have played The Mask any better than 1994 Jim Carrey did. He would go on to star in other successful comedy films but The Mask was where his insane absurdist humor and physical comedy peaked.
