Upper Franconia is so awesome. So many great Spots and they have the BEST Beer there. Looooots of small little Brewerys everywhere... They have done "Craft Beer" for centurys.

Go there January 6th when they light all the fires on the hills. That is amazing. But getter book a room there, it's at night and last time I went the roads where covered in ice. They also have a Felsenbad (Public pool) and the Teufels is actually a must see. Also a bit further in the other direction another great cave - Feengrotten in Saalfeld. I Never go on vacation in summer. I live in Franconia and have our area and Thuringia very close with the most beautiful nature. Off to go hiking on a bridge day now.

Really liked your video; it brings back old memories. When I was working for the U.S.Army in Nuremberg as a Civilian Support Group supervisor in the 1980's my assistant used to live in Pottenstein; I have often been there. The next time you visit I recommend to continue on the B470 road westbound and explore the Wiesent river valley.

I hiked that path with a number of army buddies in July of 1976. I found it to be a simple but magical place. I think a pilgrimage is in order. Thanks for the great videos. Keep up the good work. There is a town east of you closer to the Czechia border called Falkenberg. Great place to visit as well if a Pottenstein fan!

You are doing Germany the right way. The small gems, the hiking, outside activities, that is the best. Do not ruin it with stupid things like octoberfest, etc. ... oh and btw.: you are currently recommended to all german youtubers for some reason :D ... enjoy your time in germany and if you need a local guide in the Frankfurt area, write me a message :)

So fun watching your videos. I moved here October and have gone to many of the places you have in your videos! It’s so good to see other people stand and stare at the signs, travel hour away and then the things are closed, get turned around on the trails, ....
I am glad that it is just not me. I travel alone so it’s hard to gauge. It is so fun to explore! And to see your great attitude.

There are so many tremendous spots and activity offers in the Frankonian Switzerland. Go hike the Todsfelder Tal (extremely beautiful), visit 'Ruine Neideck' or the 'Riesenburg' or just go on a Kayak trip on the Wiesent. Also for hot summerdays visit the "Ostsee" near Bad Staffelstein. Awesome swimming spot there! And not to mention that upper Frankonia has the highest brewery density in the world. If you're into beer, do the "5 Seidla Steig". Hike to some of the best breweries and try to not get wasted :D

    Very nice vlogg.
By the way there is no locality in Austria solely called Stubai ...either you mean the whole valley called "Stubai valley" or in German "Stubaital" including a bunch of different small villages with their own names which is the main valley of the "Stubaier Alpen" which are in english the "Stubai alps" which are a whole range of mountains with their own names = precisely spoken the whole range includes 15 different subgroups with their own names and every subgroup has a bunch of different mountains with their own names.... some of them are located in North-Tyrol/Austria and some of them in South-Tyrol/Italy...
"Stubai" as a solely expression is just a brand-name for high quality mountaineer-stuff
    or
used in the internet just as a shortage for the whole huge ski-ressort but that includes 4 different places with their own names which are "Stubaier Gletscher" - "Schlick2000" - "Elfer" - "Serles" and every single one of them include some tiny villages (or at least one) as well with another different names..
and I´m Austrian so therefore I know for sure...but I don´t know where you are actually going for snowboarding by you just saying "Stubai" unless "somewhere over there" in Tyrol near the Italian border ;-D
Long story short it is just a collective term without being precise "where" - meaning which mountain? which village? or which ressort? you are going to visit?
But I´m looking forward to be taken by surprise....

@@filmsmith Definitively...Stubaier Gletscher is a good choice. If you are interested here is the live Webcam of that ressort with all its ski-runs....mainly to check the weather high up over there...and I recommend to go snowboarding early in the morning because it might be huge traffic on the ski-runs later one during the day depending of the day you want to go ...usually during the week it is by far not so full than weekends ...and depending of the amount of ski-tourist are actually on site of course because that can variate a lot..one week you are almost alone and the next week you might be overrun by tourists and locals..and to get a clue the webcam is there to check that as well besides to check the weather and snow-conditions...

The Riesending-Schachthöhle on the other side is many times larger but it is not open to the public. You can only enter by getting a permit granted by the state, since
it is very dangerous and should only be entered by people experienced in cave climbing, for example for scientific research. So I guess it's not completely wrong.
