It's truly gratifying when a piece of fan fiction you wrote seventeen years ago is still resonant with an audience. These stories have been adapted as narratives, a fully cast audiobook and now a visual adaptation. It's a fantastic effort and great to see the first of these in Trainz. Your direction is outstanding and I absolutely love the design for Shane the Tractor. Looking forward to seeing more!
Tractor: "And I'm SURRONDED by old fashioned equipment!" Me watching in 2020: "Mate, you're a 1954 Masey Ferguson Tractor, I wouldn't exactly go around comparing yourself equal to a 2020 John Deere!"
That crash scene was actually pretty intense. Nice job man. Love that Shane has an Irish accent, being of Irish blood was real satisfying to hear in a Thomas video.
I have just had a thought - If Butch the Tow Truck was on the other side of the crossing, Maybe Shane's Driver would have told him that Shane has got a problem with his engine and cannot move at all. Then there would be plenty of time to tow him off the crossing before Boco blasted his horn to warn people that he was approaching - Simple! But no, The Driver was not smart enough to call for help.
Well Shane, you're one to talk, you were built sometime in the 1940s as a Fordson tractor. Shane seems to resemble a Fordson E27N tractor with that shape and colour scheme
So interesting to see a sad face and an OOOEEEERRR face for Boco! And Ryan's performance was on point as always. Lovely nostalgia rush hearing this, takes me back to early SiF redub and audio days.
On behalf of the ERS authors we hope you enjoyed the ERS's return to UA-cam. I hope you'll all agree that Aiden has done a fantastic job here. It wouldn't have happened without all his hard work and we hope there will be many more adaptations in the future. In the meantime, why not head over to the Sodor Island Forums where there's over 300 volumes available to read.
LNERandBR agree love what you make, oh by the way what do you mean by return... has someone else try to do this the only other person I can think of is Daniel long
Can I just talk about the shots? The camera work was fantastic and the amount of color and saturation felt just right - I genuinely felt comforted. Also, the editing, especially with the crash, is the real 'chef's kiss' in this. Kudos for your excellent work, Aiden!
well it seems that if Shane thinks he is "Surrounded by the old fashioned" he looks to be quite old fashioned himself! you wouldn't see tractors like him these days or at least not very often
EXCELLENT! A great adaptation of this story and easily one of my favorites. I really like whoever modeled Shane and your directing gives this a very Railway Series aesthetic with TVS assets.
4:41 - Boco' unused second series wincing face! 5:05, 5:20, 5:33, 6:02, 7:11, 7:18, 7:21 - Boco's unused second series sad face! 7:34 , 7:41 - Boco's unused second series laughing face!
I don't read, let alone listen to adaptations of 'Extended Railway Series' stories, but when I do, I am quite impressed. It's not exception with this adaptation.
Wow! This is truely stunning and the fact that eyes can now move freely really makes it better, although the close up shots of Boco's face would have given me nightmares as a kid. 10/10 would buy it on DVD
Shane sounds like an ERS version of the Horrid Lorries, but I see his comeuppance was quite different. Glad to see it was an engine who gave him what for!
Saying "nice story" really can't cover how good this is. I really need to read the Extended Railway Series more. Also, I noticed Great Mouse Detective music was used at the end. :D
Boco has an interesting tractor fetish But seriously, love the story, and the crash was very satisfying. It’s so much better than seeing Boco conveniently stop just in time (something both the TVS and fan productions do too much). This vid is one of your best
Great Work Adapting this classic ERS Story into an amazing video! Keep up the good work my friend! I'm looking forward to seeing more of these in the future.
Great work! A few major differences from the original Audio Productions version, but great nonetheless. Especially with Ryan narrating. Love BoCo's new shut-eye face. Shane looks very good in blue.
Shane: For a tractor you do look funny with them ugly things on you Terence: I may not have wheels like you but my caterpillar tracks can take me anywhere. I even rescued Thomas from a snow drift with my caterpillar tracks
What a fantastic story and Shane the Tractor sounds like a good character. The shape of him reminds me to the tractor from 'Engie Benjy'. The story is written and panned well and I liked the incident between Boco and Shane :) .
Man great episode all around like seriously story fantastic , visuals amazing and an amazing crash to go along with it all seriously great work keep it up
Well done, you did a splendid job. You could have James work on Edward's branch line and have Shane repaired where he had changed his attitude into a kind optimistic tractor where he'll receive another chance where he works hard and still stay on Sodor where he'll apologize that he was rude and insulting. I want to see more of Shane the Tractor.
David Reyz actually if u want to go on ahead u can sign up for the sodor island forums it’s free and you can read the extended railway series there they got over 342 books and still making them to this day
Someone ought to have told Shane that on the Island of Sodor, Karma keeps a record of what People, Road Veachel's, and Locomotives say, and that if one says something rude or horrid, Karma bites back hard.
Great work Aiden another job well done however Shane was enjoyable to watch but I was in shock when Boco hit him but all the same. I really enjoyed the story however Shane mistakes me for a Bob the Builder character if I'm being honest that great work man.

SiForumsAndFansite 17 years ago... thats older than me also question where do I find this narration I’ve only found Daniel long doing it
Engine 87546 Older than UA-cam as well, to think it was written back in 2003
I knew the ERS was a pretty early thing, but I never thought it was around before UA-cam itself!
トーマス・アニー&クララベル。パーシー&郵便車・ブレーキ車。
4:00 anyone know the soundtrack?
that music at 0:52 is truly beautiful. it sounds really beautiful and regal
Tractor: "And I'm SURRONDED by old fashioned equipment!"
Me watching in 2020: "Mate, you're a 1954 Masey Ferguson Tractor, I wouldn't exactly go around comparing yourself equal to a 2020 John Deere!"
That's the problem with modern thinking. One thing goes wrong and there out of action for the foreseeable.
@@alexfaulkner6275 True, those old beauties could simply be fixed with a tweak, a bit of gum and a shoelace
I was gonna compare Shane to a Bob the Builder machine but that comparison works too.
@@flashstudiosguy James bootlace
@@flashstudiosguy What about some newspaper and bootlace?
5:15 This looks like something out of “Roary The Racing Car”
That crash scene was actually pretty intense. Nice job man. Love that Shane has an Irish accent, being of Irish blood was real satisfying to hear in a Thomas video.
Damn boco is a really nice dude. He was nice to feel concerned about shane especially after all that shane had said
I have just had a thought - If Butch the Tow Truck was on the other side of the crossing, Maybe Shane's Driver would have told him that Shane has got a problem with his engine and cannot move at all. Then there would be plenty of time to tow him off the crossing before Boco blasted his horn to warn people that he was approaching - Simple! But no, The Driver was not smart enough to call for help.
Hey, maybe if Boco honked his horn loudly enough at him. He could've probably moved Shane by making him tip over on his back. 😂
Now, this is something that I've wanted to see for a while now, visual adaptations of the Extended Railway Series.
Ditto
I want to see video adaptations for the horrors of the rails series so far the only one with a video adaptation is “six lovely tenders”
Loved how BoCo was given his customized wincing face just as he is about to hit Shane, and I sure bet that his sad face was referenced from Daisy's.
I think his wincing face is Toad's
Shane looks like he's from Bob the Builder.
he does actually
Cough caroline cough
I never thought of that, and now I can't unsee it...
He does look like he's from Bob the Builder
Lol he does 😂🤣🤣
Shane looks like a bob the builder character
Nice work btw
Well Shane, you're one to talk, you were built sometime in the 1940s as a Fordson tractor.
Shane seems to resemble a Fordson E27N tractor with that shape and colour scheme
You know this is fan made because BoCo is in it
Seriously, the Thomas showrunners utilized BoCo less than Arthur Smith uses a good player in the redzone!
@@worfsonofmogh1154 Nice

rhydyronen Excellent story yeah - that tractor nothing but trouble though he was busted serves him right!
LNERandBR hey i agree this you tuber has splendid talent i like his shane design it was fantastic simply marvelous looking forward to seeing more
Any BoCo content is great.
This brings a powerful lesson on level crossings to always look both ways, have patience and never queue on level crossings if in doubt.
Remember listening to the original story back in 2008. So nice to see a Trainz adaptation of it after so long!
That voice fits that tractor perfectly
The Tractor said Edward belongs in a museum, that's what one of the Horrid Lorries said to Toby.
Can I just talk about the shots? The camera work was fantastic and the amount of color and saturation felt just right - I genuinely felt comforted. Also, the editing, especially with the crash, is the real 'chef's kiss' in this. Kudos for your excellent work, Aiden!

what a treat this is - put me in mind of Chris Signore's audio adaptation/s from yonks back watching this.
can't wait to see more!!!
EXCELLENT! A great adaptation of this story and easily one of my favorites. I really like whoever modeled Shane and your directing gives this a very Railway Series aesthetic with TVS assets.
4:23
Shane: *looks at the camera* oh poop
I think BoCo taught that Shane a lesson, and it would serve him right for causing trouble and being rude to all the engines.
4:41 - Boco' unused second series wincing face!
5:05, 5:20, 5:33, 6:02, 7:11, 7:18, 7:21 - Boco's unused second series sad face!

I don't read, let alone listen to adaptations of 'Extended Railway Series' stories, but when I do, I am quite impressed. It's not exception with this adaptation.
4:25 The look on Shane's face reminds me of Bulstrode's face in Special Attraction
I like the fact that he just looks directly at the camera thinking, "Oh, shite! I'm in trouble!"
Yeah. It's so funny.
That tractor was nothing but a big bully and he finally got what he deserved in the end.
Feels like it’s from the original television series feeling like a series 3 episode
I love you included the BTTF music!
What is it with T&F and BTTF?
Saying "nice story" really can't cover how good this is.
I really need to read the Extended Railway Series more.

What Does The Fat Controller Mean? Is James Getting a Branchline?
I liked when Shane looked dead at the camera like he knew he messed up
Boco could see the tractor “stop boco!” Cried Thomas
Bocos driver applied the brakes but it was too late!
Nice work. I especially liked the shot of Shane looking dead-on at the camera when stranded...
I'd say karma hit Shane a whole lot harder than BoCo did.
Great Work Adapting this classic ERS Story into an amazing video! Keep up the good work my friend! I'm looking forward to seeing more of these in the future.
Boco is a diesel version of Edward
Boco is the best diesel I’ve ever seen. wish he had his own sires
Great work! A few major differences from the original Audio Productions version, but great nonetheless. Especially with Ryan narrating.
Love BoCo's new shut-eye face. Shane looks very good in blue.
Yes bo Co and Shane have a clenched face.
I couldn't help but felt bad for Shane after his crash, but I'm sure he learned some sense after that "bump"
Very good indeed. I hope you intend to adapt more ers books in the future if this is the standard you bring them too.
Well done 👍 boco u did it!
Maybe it's because they're both Hit Entertainment properties, but in my opinion, Shane the Tractor looks like a Bob the Builder character.
4:42 😱😱😱😱THAT FACE JUMPSCARED ME!
Always wanted to see more of the Extended Railway Series, great work you did on this video.
1:39 Saw this guy at my local steam rally
I can only imagine how Shane would act towards Terence
Shane: For a tractor you do look funny with them ugly things on you
Terence: I may not have wheels like you but my caterpillar tracks can take me anywhere. I even rescued Thomas from a snow drift with my caterpillar tracks
This is a lovely adaptation Aiden! Well done! 👍
I've always enjoyed this book. I like Ryan's narration. It sounds like he's shed most of his Scottish accent.
What a fantastic story and Shane the Tractor sounds like a good character. The shape of him reminds me to the tractor from 'Engie Benjy'. The story is written and panned well and I liked the incident between Boco and Shane :) .
To me He resembles Tractor Tom
You're right he does look like Farmer Fred's tractor from Engie Benjy
Very Creative Adaptation! Shane certainly got what he deserved!

That Shane the tractor is such a jerk.
If we get an adaption of “The Express Engines”, I’ll officially love the ERS again
If only...
I knew that damn tractor was alive from tramway engines
This channel is underrated

That outta teach Shane a lesson for making fun of engines! 😈
That's Jethro from Olly the Little White Van!

Is this inspired by Road Rebel With Rollers by Thomas1Edward2Henry3? If it is; nice take on it
Boco looks so ackward pulling short trains goods. I wonder if the real class 28s were like that.
Is Trevor supposed to sound like Ringo? If so, that's really cool!!
