2:40 “Oh look, it’s a new tank engine! Oh I’m sorry James, I didn’t realize it was you!”
You captured Awdry’s style of humor in the RWS perfectly
Simply amazing work on this one, Aiden. The visuals, soundtrack, and everything else in between made for yet another banger! I can’t wait for the rest of the saga. It was simply splendid. Keep it up!
Great episode. I thought I was in for it again when I heard Watership Down again but you redeemed it with the score from Basil the Great Mouse Detective and Back to the Future.
ending this video without time travel happening is unsatisfying. you can't just use the back to the future soundtrack so obviously without a payoff!
I'm sorry that part of the video didn't satisfy you! Thought the music would work great for the scene and rolled with it :)
Edward was running at 88 mph and traveled back to the year 1885.
I'm a day late but whatever. In BTTF3 the engine used was actually built in 1891, so she must have done some time travelling herself. Luckily I don't think Edward would have that problem.
So well made. Expertly done! Ryan's range as all the characters and enthusiasm for each one was also terrific.
Matt, you know I think the world of you, and feedback like that means a lot to me.
@@SiForumsAndFansite You are indeed an example of a fan Ryan; that Team Thomas at Mattel would even honor you with an official character in the brand speaks as much. Speaking of Team Thomas, I have been trying on-and-off for years to get involved on the official production. In result of a one-to-one meeting in London late last year, things are now steadily progressing for me. Negotiations are still yet to be finalized due apparently to preoccupation with the 75 celebration output, but I've sent out my plans to them and it really looks like I'll be on solid course for next year. Samuel F.
What an awesome story version of the original audio drama!
_"One engine is as good as another."_ Way to bring up "Trust Thomas", dudes.
It's also a reference to a NWR1991 episode where because the china clay trucks couldn't get back at Bill and Ben for banging them, they took it out on Sheffield instead.
I love your style, and I really think it brings the island to life in a way that few other people I've seen can. Just the sheer amount of trains coming in and out, and rolling stock scattered around every yard makes the island look busy and feel like a real railway. I think this story especially embodies the line from Hullo Twins when Sodor was at its peak season , "no sooner had they arrived with one train, then they had to go out again with another." The pacing is really great. It seems slow but theres so much happening, putting you in the shoes of James' monotonous yet overwhelming workload.
I'm very happy to hear you enjoyed this project. Thank you so much for watching!
An honour and a real privilege to see one of my favourite ERS stories brought to the visual medium and be so well done, and equally, so well received. Love it, Aiden, you're going to be one to watch in future.
oh blast me I didn't know there is an ERS tory of this!
Where can I find it?
Say do you know when storm bringer 2 is coming ?
@@jockdouglass3824 Never 😜
@@SiForumsAndFansite shame
For those who’ve never read the ERS, you’re in for a real treat with this story.
Green5studios what is the ERS? I’m curious
@@TheLoneRailrider extended railway series
@Green5studios where can I read the ERS? Is it picture styled like the RWS or is it like a book series with no art?
Mr Crazy786 it's on the sodor island forum. Just get an account and you'll find 300 plus railway series style e-books. Although, with a rare few exceptions, there aren't any pictures in the stories.
The narrator has a lot of enthusiasm and passion behind his voices, very satisfying to listen to
Ryan is a fantastic narrator
rhydyronen I particularly loved his voice for Shane the Tractor in the last story.
@@stevemcqwark7061 Thank you so much for your kind feedback Steve, I've enjoyed the opportunity to record narration for such a talented content creator, who's brought my stories to life in such an awesome way!
@@rhydyronen Ryan was really good at Voice actor of the Voice Roles.
@@MSwolfdog158 swear the narrator is channeling his inner Ringo
Now that is definitely an episode that deserves to be in the TV series. James learning a lot on branch lines :) .
Same
I learnt quite a bit too
Heeey thats preetty gooood
And to think James once told Gordon "Trucks will be trucks."
I love it that Edward seems to be like a teacher of some sort to James. It's called 'Edward's Station' for a good reason.
At 3:05 James legit sounds like Johnny Vegas...
Also that back to the future 3 music is amazing...
I really like it. Ahh Edward, You're my favorite engine and really useful too.
Old irons finest moment since the 50s
True
Sudrian Dennis actually I’m wrong I forgot about his exploits in the late 60s
@@calebc.2290 0h yea well its ok if u get it wrong
@Tim Jones my favorite railway series character.
Back in edwards day he could go fast but yeah its the year 1936 and hes slow
This is David Mitton directing right here!!!🔥📹
Amazing and Impressive Episode! Edward really did a great job stopping the trucks!
Idk man, I just love that scene where Edward rushes pst James, and you can see that face of guilt James has when he realizes how he should’ve taken the trucks instead of letting poor Edward go through the trouble. This was a fine piece of work. Keep up this cinematic beauty.👍✨
Wow Aiden, I don't know what to say! I completely love the lighting and the part with the lightning, absolutely marvellous! And I love the edits you did also, this was a great video. With great narration!
Our Edward's had many fine moments, really. Personally, I think his finest hour was in ~1965, when he took those passengers home in a storm without siderods and twisted frames. "Battered, weary, but unbeaten..." As I am writing this comment about a day before the video premieres, I can't wait to see what Old Iron will do this time!
North Western SplendorTM trust me it’s worth the wait, but if you want a listen to what’s gonna happen you can look up the audio online
Agreed
Already love Edward's Essential Experience 💙
Back to the Future music?
Well, actually, this was a good choice.... This makes the Scene dramatic 👍🏻
Well done!!!
This is amazing! The cinematography is amazing, and i love the audition with the back to the future music!
Once again Edward has saved the day thanks to his wisdom and expertise over the years.
Oh yeah. That, I am amazed at.
2:45
ALONE
JAMES IS A MIXED TRAFFIC ENGINE
who mainly works on the Main Line.
Also can I say that Ryan is an amazing narrator? He puts his all into these voices and the emotion is just the chef’s kiss.
Ryan is very good at capturing each character, one of the best!
Indeed!
Loved this so much! And loved the BTTF theme
Aiden that runaway scene is so good, genuinely your best camerawork yet! Can't wait for the next one! :)
I remember when i was young I like this 19989
Well done. In fact, you should have James (Boco's replacement) work on Edward's Branchline from now on and Boco would take James's trains on the main line from now on.
1:52 that truck has cbt on it 😳
Great work here, Aiden! I noticed a bit more lag here than usual, but that’s nothing to worry about since the sound and visual efforts are so obvious here and work well. I haven’t read this book in a while so it’s actually escaped me as to how excellent Edward is portrayed here and it certainly doesn’t disappoint! Then again Ryan is a fantastic writer all round so I shouldn’t be surprised :D
I did say I was going to get new parts before filming this one but during that time I was in a big mood to just, well, film!
Did anyone notice the back to the future theme playing in the background while Edward was being bumped by the trucks?
Has a feeling of Season 3. I could see the set dressing by David Mitton in this series.
Me: A fine piece of work, Edward you can take a rest, after your run away, and then take your next train. I’m proud of what you’ve made here tonight Rhydyronen, you shall go and enjoy the comment section to help boost your self esteem.😉
Oh, thank you sir! It will be lovely not to be sad!
Tell me when will Carson be back with another story involving Richard? or Should I ask has he got some stories planned for Richard this July?
I'm not so sure about Richard - you'll have to ask Carson himself :)
rhydyronen OK I just I thought you knew if he told you never mind thank you anyway I can’t wait for your Edwards essential experience tomorrow
@@rhydyronen, if you would like to see Richard, you could see Carson's videos and ask him if you could find where to download Richard from, and then download Richard and add him into your videos and have Jake (KnapfordHarbour) be Richard in your stories where he is the main engine. Think of it, you would be popular to have Richard in your stories.
@@DVR01 I'm pretty certain Richard is a private model.
@@grandestgordon578 He's not giving it to anyone
3:37 The Great Mouse Detective Theme
5:25 Back to The Future Theme
This was amazing! I loved this story! I loved the voice cast! The filming was amazing and I loved the Runaway scene
2:40. Tenders and Turntables reference.
I love this story and I can learn a lot from the old engine, Edward.
the CBT truck is best the truck.
1:45: Isn’t there a tank engine that can- *N O !*
Carson made me watch this. And it was worth it.
I recognize the Back to the Future music during the runaway scene. ;D
This is amazing, I’m glad that the ERS is being shown like this
Don't get me wrong and no offence to Ryan, I love his work as narrator and voice actor but why didn't you choose Dan, Tardis Rescue's, narration of these story. His Duck and Edward voices are perfect and it just keeps thing more bundle up with him writing the stories aswell as reading them. Again, nothing against Ryan, just curious and just my opinion.
No worries at all man :) I wanted Ryan to narrate these first few stories for me as to get a classic feel and start of the ERS. (Plus, this is only the second book of the ERS!) For me, Ryan was a perfect fit for this first book but come to think of it It would be fun to have different narrators for different books!
@@rhydyronen Cool. Again, I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea, I just am used to Tardis Rescue being Edward and Ryan voicing a Scottish or Welsh character.
Oh yeah of course - I know exactly where you're coming from dude
@@DocterGeko The thing is though, much as I like and respect Dan, it's good to get a chance to perform other character voices outside of the ones I'm known for with Scottish and Welsh accents, and I'm grateful to Rhydyronen for the opportunity to do that and showcase my range, and it does get boring doing the same character voices over and over.
@@SiForumsAndFansite Again, no disrespect it just sounds strange, l'm sure I'll get used to it just like I am used to your version of On your Guard. I was just wondering is all, l'm not saying you shouldn't have a change as everyone deserves a change. I'm just not good at communicating with people most of the time. My main point is, love your work and I mean no disrespect.
Okay. I didn’t know you named your channel after a station on the Talyllyn line. Just found that out now
It is, yeah :)
I LOVE THIS HOMIE
You know. BoCo's Tractor Bang amazed me but this was fantastic! The inclusion of The Skateboard Chase from BTTF as outstanding! And cinematography was stupendous! I hope to see more in the future! Great work!
88 MILES PER HOUR!
Super Red James.

Woah I didn't expect 2:47 setup. Very very grand piece of work overall.
“C.B.T”
Nice:
Your work will never seem to amaze me; brings me back to watching the classic era as a kid!
4:38
Is anyone going to talk about the random tender in the background?
I love a number of the camera shots in this. Most notably the ones in the runaway part.
This was a pleasure to watch, loved the back to the future music during the runaway part, all round great job 👍
Hey whoever made this i love it and SHUT UP AND TAKE MY LIKE!!!!!!!
Incredible work as ALWAYS, Just can't wait for the next!
Talk about those coaches too, where ever did you get them, there just as immaculate as your railway.
This was amazing! The camerawork during the runaway scene was insane. Great work!
This was awesome
Loved how the climax and Back to the Future theme mix so good, well done!
That song when Edward was stopping the runaway trucks was amazing. What might it be called?
6:42 Edwards wheels don’t fit on the track 😂 Mans floating
The slow acceleration of the engines makes them seem so much more heavy and real than the TV series could.
Still needs to have the cars going ca-chunk-a-chunk... ca-chunk-a-chunknover the tracks as well as the awful screeching sound of their wheels on the inside of the track.
1:53 hah, CBT
Crosby - Barrow Trading, of course!
James is going to be pissed off an engine who can take care of the yard why Edwards gone and you don't help other engines you're stuck with the trucks good luck this time James you don't get to take a rest lalalalala
Very nice with the Back to The Future music.
what game was this filmed with? I'm thinking about getting trainz 2019 and I want to know if it's the right one.
One truck felt like he would vomit at a fast speed, and vomited when Edward stopped in time.
Aiden back at it again dominating this
Wow another episode
Yup!
its not a missing coach that Percy need its a missing mail van 0:42
This is an authentic cinematographic piece
For awdrys sake why doesn't edward just use sanding gear
Ahh, I always love a good RWS-esque story.
Great job Aiden, once again, you've managed to make these adaptions incredibly brilliant through the visuals and the music. One thing that I've always enjoyed about your videos that adds a nice flare to it is your use of jazz tracks from multiple different orchestras and movies, I did manage to catch a bit of Back to the Future being used in the chase scene.
Edward's Essential Experience is one of my favourite stories from this ERS book, and I love what you've done with it here. Through time and care, you make these stories come to life in brilliant ways that I most certainly couldn't do on my own! I'm also very happy to see that there's no more lag like in the last video, not like it could deter me from how good this is.
It's an honor to see high-quality Trainz content like this, especially in the current times. Keep it up Aiden, and continue to bring out the best in you through every upload!
Thank you for your kind words. I'm happy to see you've enjoyed this video!
You're welcome. And make sure to tell Ryan he's a fantastic narrator! He's most definitely one of the best I've heard.
I have to say this is great! The level of detail and the camera shots really hold true to what the original model series had! I have a question though, who made these new troublesome truck models? I know they haven't been released yet but where could I find them when they are? Thanks!
I know which ones you're referring to - sorry to say those will be private :(
What's up with the CBT Truck? 1:50
4:10How you get that best quality trucks?
why do you have music from back to the future
1:03 where the tracks go? (the ones that james passes
on 1:39 and 6:05 will those extra faces ever be included to the current SodorWorkshops James?
I'm not sure!
epic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! superb video old chap.
Did u play the back to the future theme 😂
The BtTF music really fit
Where did you download the locos?

i love the back to the future theme!!
1:04 Is that one of the NW Freight diesels?
That is Wendell, he's the Works Diesel shown in the RWS.
