As an employee of Ki I know how they get the wait times, they call the person at the front of the line who is working or call someone who is working the ride and they ask them what the wait time is.
hey, KI ride operator here, they call us once every few hours for the wait time, the rest I'm pretty sure is them wildly guessing. Ask any nearby ride operator, and we may be able to give you a more accurate wait time, given that we can see the line.
I remember years ago, they used to give people waiting in line something with the time on it. Invertigo is now my favorite coaster. Not because it’s good. But because it changed my point of view of the world. I didn’t have to wait at all because they were looking for two people. And then the two other people who were facing us were actually nice. My hope in hunmanity is now raised

Friend and I went about 2 weeks ago. We went on a Wednesday and it was awesome. We walked onto every single ride except for Flight of Fear, which had about a 30 minute wait. Going during the weekday is worth it if you want to get on as many rides as possible. We ended up hitting rollercoasters 15 times
So the reason wait times are different than the app most of the time is because each ride that has a wait time gets called once every hour, so the app only gets updated every hour and the wait times can change drastically in that span.
I can relate, diamondbacks wait depends on wo is working there on the day, but getting invertigo and it being fifteen minute wait andit actually being a 6 minute wait is freaking so based tho I love this video
We just went with my youth group, only had to wait 15-20 mins for each ride! Except for The Beast, we had to wait like about 45 mins for that, but that’s because it got shut down for repairs.
When I went to kings island it started to rain but that meant everyone started to leave and the banshee line was EMPTY like there was absolutely nobody there. I rode the banshee 17 TIMES. That is why the banshee is the best roller coaster ever.

Dback always seems to have a longer estimate than reality and banshee is the opposite. Mystic Timbers and FoF (plus the beast at night) are typically the longest waits. Invertigo is hit or miss because if there’s a pretty long line it’s gonna be a while because they can only do one train, but sometimes it’s super empty and quick. All of this is just in my experience
They seemed long to me. I favor days when I know it will be light. Avoid Saturdays at all costs. Look for weekdays in may or the one week in August where they close early. During the summer, extra hot days (90+) on Tues/Wed/Thurs tend to be best (just be prepared for the heat).
honestly the main problem with cedar point is that the employees couldn’t care less about everyone getting on the rides and are so unbelievably slow with everything. my evidence is that on the ride Magnum they’re on a strict time limit for getting the rides out on time since the track can’t fit all 3 coasters at once. on that ride the employees actually get the rides going at a good pace, which means they should be capable of treating the rest of the rides the same way. any other ride there i swear the employees look miserable and work as slowly as possible which probably adds another hour of waiting for all the big rides. like i get it, i’ve worked at places like that before and it’s not fun, but the managers need to be more strict since because of that everyone at the park has a horrible time waiting in lines for hours just for the rides to break down. sorry i needed to rant about this lmao
From what I'm seeing in the comments And what I've experienced as my home park. Don't go opening day, a holiday, Haunt is bad too. But do during spring or during weekdays. I even go on Saturdays and it isn't that bad

They are sometimes accurate for me bc I live only 5 mins so the time and wait does not really affect me and if you live close or far away go during the week and u can hop right on rides!!!
