- I'm extremely fortunate to be spending a day flying in the Cirrus SF50 G2 Vision Jet - it is absolutely epic, as you can imagine. Initially we depart Cranfield VFR before converting to IFR to fly an RNP approach to Runway 27 at Gloucester. Please do like and comment your thoughts, I'd love to know what you think of the jet!

Love watching your videos, thank you for your time and effort it takes to make these videos
Thanks, Colin, that’s super kind. There will be plenty more to come in the future now that regular uploads are resuming!
I love this aircraft ! I often "fly" it on my X-Plane simulator.
Couldn’t wait for this one!
Thanks Dylan, hope you enjoyed it!
Great vid, what a cool aircraft!
Thanks Joe, pleased you like it!
Looking forward to this one!! Thanks for making the video which are always top notch!!
Cheers, Trevor, hope it stands up to expectations!
@@PlaneOldBen it’s brilliant!! I’m 50 and still get excited when the videos get put up like a kid in a sweet shop!!👍👍
Brilliant. My favourite plane on X-Plane, sadly the only flying I can do these days, but it's a joy to watch the real thing, done by people who know what they're doing. Thanks.
Thanks a lot Chris, I really enjoy the SF50 on X-Plane too!
Yes sir, I love my X-Plane! I’m quite dreadful a pilot but keep a lip up as it were! I’m not easy at paying for more experiences but have on limited. Next $ or # spent will be on actual Cessna trainings! Good flying mate 👍🙏
It's such a majestic aircraft!!⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was very fortunate to fly in it!
Vision Jet. Very cool!
Certainly is! I was super lucky to go flying in it.
Great content Ben, what a cool aircraft too, looking forward to the other videos.
Thanks a lot, Joe! The next few ones should be really cool.
Wow, I never new that the vision jet had auto throttle!! Wow, full VNAV capabilities .. thanks for sharing
Awesome plane old Ben, thanks for sharing mate
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
Great video! And I haven't even finished watching.
Haha thanks a lot!
Mega video, Ben!
Thank you!
Thanks for another great video 😁
Thanks a lot, Grant.
I ben hope you are well buddy.brillant flight buddy are you famous you have been treated like royalty. Have you managed to fly a vision jet yet with another famous person called Philippe the London pilot. Hope all are well and I can not wait to meet you both at Wolverhampton phil.
I felt like this video was giving me an incredible lesson on how to fly the SF50. There were some gems in there. However, the sound of ATC did drown out the voices of the pilots. In the future, if possible, can you lower the sound of ATC. Thanks for a very informative video.
What a superb way to travel. I think my first call would be Oban for lunch.
a very good idea indeed!
Cool video Ben. One of my favourite gets too.
Thank you for posting.
Thanks a lot, Roger! It’s an amazing jet for sure.
Great video and a lovely, if odd looking, jet. Funny to hear my old aircraft TB20 N33NW getting a featuring role as you approach Gloucester. A shame that the pilot keeps abbreviating his callsign to "33NW" despite the controller correcting him every time to "N3NW". Grrr.
Haha that is a shame!
Awesome Ben! I expect like many of us you have enjoyed hours of flying aircraft such as the Cirrus Vision Jets on X-Plane. I bet it felt amazing to fly it for real? And when should we expect the video of you in the left seat?
haha I don't think I'll be in the left seat anytime soon as you need a type rating!
Yes Ben! Why not get the type rating!? 👌
Fantastic vid ben, really enjoyed it
Thanks a lot, Lewis!
The paint job on that sf50 is superb. Def one of the best I’ve seen. Is this model a gen2?
It’s such a cool paint scheme isn’t it, yeh this one is a G2!
@@PlaneOldBen awesome man, absolutely beautiful aircraft.
You can adopt me if you wish.
I am house-trained and can make a good cup of tea 😊
Great video
Thanks a lot!
Good video and proficiently flown. Particularly liked the product placement of the Vertigo Aviation Detailing brakes off sign at the end, thanks for that 😁
hahah love it
Ben when are you returning to commercial flt? In the US they are crying out for Pilots.
I’ve been working for Draken Europe flying the Falcon 20 for the past year, I’m super fortunate!
@@PlaneOldBen hahahaha sorry Ben I’m just thinking of the reaction a certain popular streamer had when he heard about you having that career move ;)
What's the difference between g2+ and sf50?
Good video Ben. Enjoyed it from my hospital bed. Thank you
Sorry to hear you are in hospital, Gary. Praying you are better soon.
Only a short hop for you but extremely interesting. Seems like a great bit of kit, cheers guys
Thanks a lot, Vincent!
can the owner of this aircraft smoke in flight.
When did you fly this Ben ? Beautiful day for it when ever it was.
Only reason I ask, as I had the same information regarding air traffic training the other week.
Yes it was recently!
@@PlaneOldBen if it was the day I happened to be there I don’t fly to mid afternoon and would of 1000% remembered seeing this beaut on the apron lol
i want this plane. and i want to get the necessary training to fly it.
Cool to see another interesting type on the channel, look forward to more!
Thanks a lot, Sam.
how often are you in Gloucester thats my local airport would love to see that plane in person
It goes there every so often for maintenance!
Do I spy a Martin Baker Bremont?
So cool.. I saw this plane at EHRD today :)
That's was a great flight. Fun to follow along
Awesome to the max! Have you done a twin engine rating in prop planes yet or do you plan to?
Yes I have, there’s videos on the channel.
@@PlaneOldBen Wow! Thanks. I'm going to have to go have a look. I don't know how those slipped by me.
Enjoy!
You did well to avoid triggering the 'Instant Death' Lasers at GCHQ...
Lucky git! Poodleing about the sky all day.
That’s my job! 😂
Class video, looking forward to the rest.
Thanks Ross!
very good
Jeppeson plates are so weird to me the FAA plates are so much better IMO
I think you just get used to one type then stick to them!
3:59 Is that Kenya003 that far North ?
3:58
Not sure!
What an amazing aircraft. Thanks for sharing.
Is the vision jet beeing used for any Airbus pilot training, before they go on the bigger ones like a320 family, caused by the sidestick setup?
Not too sure! I know some flight training for larger schools is done on SR22s however.
Great video and extremely interesting Ben. Very different to my flying as you know but nice to see other types. Looking forward to talking to you about your current 'day job'
Thanks a lot, Tim! Looking forward to seeing you soon. I still need to come down and fly from the strip!
@@PlaneOldBen You are welcome whenever Ben
I probably heard this when I stayed in the village during university there.
That’s cool!
How do you keep from smoking the tires on this thing on landing with no thrust reverser, only wheel brakes?
The VREF speed is quite moderate, light braking stops the aircraft in a relatively good landing distance!
Too many adverts so didnt watch it all. Looked like a great flight though
I’ll check that! Thanks, UA-cam is adding a lot of interim adverts at the moment.
KOOL
Loved it. Busy flight deck for a short flight. 😀👍
Yeh it certainly was!
Hi Ben, how does the glass cockpit of the Cirrus compare to something like the Dash8? In particular, the W&B, performance calculations, etc. I'm hour building in a PA28 at the minute and to see these things in action is 'magical'..! Thanks and all the best.
Has Ben ever flown the Dash 8? How would he know the difference?
@@sam04019491 I think he flew for Flybe for a period.
@@bhughes1986 Oh ok. Didn’t know that. Good stuff.
Congratulations mate enjoy flying Cirrus Vision JET!!
Haha it was a very cool day out for sure.
See if they give us any kind of clearance?? What does that mean FGS? not a patch on Guido..
It means in regards to a VFR departure from an airfield not in controlled airspace. A usual clearance would be something as simple as a left or right turnout after departure, but in this instance we were talking in regards to the possibility of them asking us to route via an airways reporting point.
Probably more correctly described as “after departure instructions”…
Love this!!!
Thanks Jess!!
Imagine if you need to pee in a 5 hours trip
There’s actually a technology/device available for those things. Pilots are aware of this……
@@rogerdsmith What do you mean
the aircraft can handle a small bath room at the rare of the plane its optional. if you want you can install it.
No SF50 jets UK registered yet, or was it a ferry flight for a US owner?
There’s a lot of N-Reg aircraft based in the UK, which this one is.
@@PlaneOldBen where do you go get type rated for it in the UK? There's only two places to do it in the US that I know of.
Cool, saw you take off from my back garden :)
That’s awesome!
Brilliant vid mate, that SF50 is a decent bit of kit 😉
Thanks, Oz!
Great video and a great plane, really interesting seeing the latest in glass cockpits. Were there any mechanical instruments as back-up? Thanks for sharing Ben.
No mechanical backups, just digital nowadays for Cirrus, it’s the same in the airline world too.
Is the mag compass still needed? haha.
It’s very quiet
Super good video as per usual Ben! Amazing opportunity :D
Thanks a lot, buddy!
nice :)))
Thanks Maga.
AMG 63 Merc with wings, I want 1
Hahaha that’s quite the description!
Great video once again Ben! Looks a nice aircraft to fly!
Thank you very much, Jack!
Very quiet.
"You haven't flown a Falcon mate" lol
Haha the Falcon 20 I fly is a lot louder for sure!
A PA28 on climb out..
#thankyoubosea20
😍
Fascinating chaps. Ta.
Thanks Mike! More to come soon.
One of my favourite jets Ben!
Thanks, Kai!
How'd you get this gig? Amazing!
Another great video Ben! :-)
Cheers Steve, hope you're doing well!
Nice paint job 👌
Very nice I agree!
