    I will save you the 10 minutes. A single engine land rating and an instrument add on if you plan on flying at or above FL 180, in addition to the type rating since it is a jet/turbofan bird. Done.

      To fully utilize this aircraft's performance capability, operation above 18,000 ft will, in the United States, require a pilot be instrument rating. Operating this aircraft below 18,000 ft would cause it to gobble fuel and greatly reduce range and speed.
      SO a PPL with instrument rating is all you will need to satisfy the FAA. Satisfying your insurance company may be a tougher bar. Hard to imagine insurance company sending you into the wild blue without at least a few hundred hours of instrument time.

      Thank you! Only thing I’d add is that basic med cannot be used for this plane due to cabin configuration that seats more than 6 people total including the pilot.

    THis is the safest jet available for a single pilot. It has an autoland feature, parachute, LVL, auto radar and auto throttle. It decreases the workload by far. To fly the plane all you need are three thing. - Private pilot license, intrument rating and type rating. Cirrus also gives you a complementary 50 hour SOE time with a seasoned SF50 Pilot. It may not be super fast but it has a VERY reliable jet engine, 31,000 ft ceiling and is just a great plane.

    The type rating is what gets you. It's basically another checkride but costs WAY more

    Add 10,000 ft. higher ceiling and it'd be perfect. For nearly $3M, I'd want to be able to fly over more weather.

    You didn’t mention that the parachute has to be changed every 5 year at the price of $30K. Plus the 10 days training cost another $30K. Ahhh, and forget to mention that this plane stalls by the tail. Probably the main reason to get the parachute. Just saying

    The SF50 is one of the ugliest airplanes ever made. Looks like the engineers designed it and on Fri afternoon at 4 they realized they forgot the engine. Since happy hours was an hour away they just glued the engine on top and called it a day.

  • @mikhailjairnisbett441
    @mikhailjairnisbett441 Рік тому

    SF50 is honestly the worst jet. It's relatively slow, and not very good performance. Get yourself a PC-12 with 9 seats and the same fuel burn. Or a phenom 100 with less fuel burn and TWO HUNDRED more mph top speed.

    • @davem5333
      @davem5333 Рік тому +2

      The aircraft is most likely to appeal to an owner pilot looking to step up to pressurized piston twin, like a Cessna 340. The jet is faster but climb performance not significantly better.
      The Phenom 100 and PC12 are a lot more money.
      Or one could get an old Citation and refurbish it with new avionics and Williams engines for about $3M.
