Description
TEC580 Ceramic Coating is the purest form of surface protection you can apply to your vehicle. Coatings form chemical bonds to the applied substrate, which become both chemically and wear resistant. These chemical bonds are hard to break once cured and give outstanding performance characteristics. The liquid ceramic coating will provide years of protection against all types of environmental attacks. The ceramic resin acts like an additional layer of clear coat which gives increased depth of gloss and enhanced color. Ceramic coating creates an almost non-stick layer which reduces the adhesion of dirt, grime and bugs. The cured ceramic coating is extremely hydrophobic, chemical & scratch resistant.

This coating is better than alot of "professional coatings" i have used. Durability is really good easy 1 year even without maintenance
Just bought this for my 2019 civic coupe. Been detailing for 23+ years. I was very pleasantly surprised with this product. Especially for how inexpensive the bottle is.
The Gyeon EVO series just released would be a great addition to your entry level coating comparison. EVO is supposed to be much easier to apply even for mobile detailers.
I’m very interested in the Gyeon EVO Can Coat having just purchased some. Not sure if this is similar enough but Griot’s 3 N 1. Thinking about using this as a standard in full exterior details.
Excellent descriptions and great job applying the coating! 👍🏼👍🏼
You're always putting out amazing videos with great information with great instructions. I appreciate everything you do for the detailing community keep up the great work 💪💪
Nice Demo...That coating is sooooo easy to apply! I do the same thing waving the towel to help it flash faster!
Thank you so much for this video. I love how much technical and technique info you include to help us out. This was the first coating that I tried out and I really liked it for all the reasons that you've indicated. I also bought the tech choice ceramic polish, just basically like an all-in-one polish. It works really well but is not featured in many videos. Miranda detailing has a video in which they both sing its praises. When I use the trifecta -- polish, coating, detail spray -- I got the most out of products. You are right, it is not very tenacious. I live in California and struggled to get one year. But I agree that it is still totally worth it.
Great vid Chelsea! Surprisingly, the Tech Choice 580 lasted 13 months in ScottHD's durability/longevity test...very respectable lifespan
Love the content, presentation style, editing and transparency. You really rock Chelsea!
I also appreciate the focus on entry level products, especially Avalon King and Gyeon Can Coat. I’m evaluating which ones to have on hand for my customers since I plan on diving into business, albeit small scale, this spring.
Thank you you are right they don't have many videos about Tec 580. Great product for the price and ease of use
The car definitely cleaned up! That coating definitely looks user friendly since you were able to wipe away a high spot the next day.
Great job Chelsea, keep up the great work
I think the gyeon cancoat is even easier way to get a year worth of protection, and the can coat lasts about 10 cars easy
Great job! 👍 keep up the great work
Nice job. I literally learned so much from your video.
Keep it up, you have great knowledge of products.
cleaned up nice good sine & gloss. Too bad not all the defects could be removed that is a nice blue color. Thanks for your videos always enjoy them
Customer wasnt paying for more than a paint enhancement
Hi Chelsea thanks for making this video. Very informative! Have you ever done two coats with this product to increase durability? I know some coatings you are allowed to do two coats. Wondering if it would be the same with this product
Great video for beginners like me! What light are you using on the side?

Go for it Kash!
Black Rhino and Phoenix EOD ceramics.
Looks great. It’s unfortunate that you couldn’t correct the paint more. I didn’t realize how the clear coat loses thickness over time.
On the TEC580 have you tried the Graphene version? If so, which would you prefer overall?
There's a place for these coatings. Nice! Older cars with smaller budget I would think. Have you done a Apex coating? I don't remember. Nice dry warm garage is nice! Good video.
Exactly where I would utilize this coating. Definitely a budget friendly option and yes I did do a video on Apex's coatings but need to do another on a dark video to do it justice
Chelsea have you seen any kind of difference in results between ceramic coatings marketed for trim or just using a paint coating on everything? I've been looking at the Poor Boys World ceramic kit, it comes with ceramic coating for the paint and one specifically for trim for $109. I just can't figure out what the difference is for a ( trim) coating
Some trim coatings bond better with the porous substrate and also may help restore the finish whereas a paint coating may not last as long or bond as well or enrich the color like a dedicated trim coating. At least thats my best educated guess.
Do you have a video on towels or can you make one of like your towel preferences the in and outs that you have found for towels etc
Did not know that TEC580 exsisted. I have been hunting done TEC582 Ceramic Spray. thank youfor the detail data too. I am always wanting to learn more about products and other cheaper places to but them. do you know the company manufacturer is?
Unfortunately no many withhold that info
Very informative video.
Have you tried Technicans choice graphene coating?
Would you recommend to a regular or ceramic infused car wash for a ceramic coated vehicle? Thought you had a video on maintaining a coated vehicle, but could find it.
Isn't this just a relabel of high end coating that sold under a different brand? I heard something about technician choice making products for other higher end brands
This is Technicians Choice coating but this coating has been relabeled for other coatings, yes
A little over a year later.... is there a new ceramic "kid on the block" for your favorite? This may be a dumb question, but are your applicators or towels trash after application (due to product hardening on towel/applicator) ?
Mckees 37 Graphene and BC1 are my current favorites. If you soak your applicators immediately after in a bucket with APC and launder then like you normally would your microfibers you can actually got a couple uses out of them if laundered properly but if they are stiff then just chuck them. They have two sides though and normally I get two uses out of each applicator and towels several uses before demoting to interiors or metal polishing.
Your thoughts on Dallas Paint Coatings?
Have you tried apex surface protection trim coating yet? I put it on a new motorcycle of mine that is covered in black plastic. Even being brand new it made it darker and richer looking. The only bugs on the hand guards just flicked off. Have not tried it on old trim yet but will soon
Suprised you could remove high spots with just a microfiber after it sits overnight. In fact, I would think most would require light polishing.
Its not a high solids coating and why its more of a entry level. Higher solids = More difficult to remove high spots
Thank you
Chelsey, I watch a bunch of your videos and really enjoy the content. But I’m trying to figure out what product do you actually prefer for a ceramic coating. Seems like you make a video on a new ceramic coating every few videos.
Favorite right now is Mckees 37 Graphene coating and Undrdog pro but with so many out there Im always interested to see if there's better
@@attention2detailswchelsea ok thanks, what do you like as a sealant/topper?
@@arnell7321 Lithium Ceramic Slam, Griots 3 in 1 ceramic wax, Lonestar Ceramic Spray, or Phoenix EOD Titan
What is the wipe you speak of before applying the coating
I am nee to coatings like this been scared of them been watching lots of videos
Meguiars Surface Prep
Do you have to discard the towels after removing the coating? What application pads are you using? Luv your vids.
I soak them in apc and water immediately after and then launder as usual. I use the Autofiber saver applicator pads
Funky fly fresh coating is one to look at
Who makes that?
@@attention2detailswchelsea that's the name of the company
Have you tried them?
@@attention2detailswchelsea I have them now to try, I have tried there products, not there coating....I do have it tho.... I have used there other products... he is based is south Florida and is a very nice guy. IG message him and he will take care of you
What did you charge to coat the vehicle?
It was $100 extra to add the coating
Hey Chelsea, I think you have showcased this product before, maybe Im wrong.. How does it handle the road salts there in PA.. I live in Chicagoland and the salt they put on the streets just tears down products
Its not the most durable but if properly maintained and frequently washed/ topped I think it should last at least 10-12 months.
I use 99% isopropyl alcohol to remove tree sap. Especially if I'm staring a car from scratch.
They make a graphene coating that is also really inexpensive. Well, inexpensive compared to others. Some of that stuff costs a small fortune!
Is this a 2 yr coatings
12-24 month coating
1st to watch
