- Bob Marley & The Wailers do a live in-studio performance before performing live for @bbcradio2’s Old Grey Whistle Test. They perform "Stir It Up" and "Concrete Jungle" during this set. This is one of only 2 or 3 times where Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer are captured on video performing together as The Wailers.

Who’s still listening to this classic song in 2024?

Juicy Lucy is still listening in 2024 👍
I am. I was a HUGE fan in my late teens in the 70's of Bob Marley, still am. I had all his albums in vinyl. Lol .Going through a tough, serious illness, and I'm here reminiscing. My soul feels better, lighter, listening to his music. He had such wisdom. It saddens me to see all the divisiveness in the world today. He was truly a force for good. ❤
Still sounds as good as it did way back then. Irie!

He wanted to save the world, but his Fender Guitar couldn't do it. Not even a Les Paul Standard could do that much. He just needs guitar that you can feel as much as you can hear.
If you ask me I will tell you that this is the greatest reggae song ever sung by any human being.
Those Peter Tosh harmonies are amazing

Honestly ? UA-cam should disable the thumbs down button for this song. Just an incredible guitar solo at 2.34 by Peter Tosh. It’s more than perfect. It’s somehow greater than flawless. Never heard a guitar played like that in any song since and this was 51 years ago in 1973, which was the year my mum was born. Love the vibe. Love the song. No big crowd. No fancy stadium. Just jamming together.....WOW. Thank you, Bob Marley & The Wailers, for a phenomenal piece of art
Peter Tosh is THEE EPITIOME of cool
Wayne Perkins is playing the solo... The Wailers are performing a playback from the record...
@Mr_Nigeria100 absolutely true.
Peter Tosh is just so cool, effortlessly creating acoustic solo guitar history, this solo could be put into any type of music, it's ageless and will be played until the end of time.
Yes! Agreed the solo with that wah tone was good. BUT even better with ASTON 'FAMILY MAN' BARRETT with that impeccable Bass Line that just keeps thumping and what makes this song what it is. I mean check out how much he is into it from 3:23..Pretty 'IRIE' Cheers!

He doesn't play, they don't play live. This is pure playback. Look at his fingers, he's completely messing around, rofl :))
I suspect that that they half lipsynched it. The original lead guitar was played by The White Wailer (cause he was white - fact) and sounds eerily like that. If Peter managed to play it like that great, but otherwise credit to the white wailer I will name him in the next comment.

Pure brilliance, the sounds they created with a few cheap instruments, I just listen to this with my eyes shut and the memories of living in the Caribbean fill my head. All gone but never forgotten
I don't see ANY cheap instrument here...
When your emotions is in the mix any instrument will project awesome music 🎶
These instruments no cheap.
This is A Legend of Legends..
One Good Thing About Bob Marley's Music When It Hits you Feel No Pain..
Very true
Goddemighty I am going in for my 4th urologist appointment tomorrow and needed to hear somethin' that would get me soothed after this botched vasectomy and you're absolutely right. Prayers if you've got 'em.
Yeah it’s been said
Feelin good is good enough….
There will never be another like Bob, he’s right up there at the top with the very best of all time 👌
Despite only being from Jamaica, Bob Marley and Peter Tosh deserve a BET Lifetime Achievement Award.
100%
Bunny Wailer, too!!!
Start a campaign for them to BET or put their names in the raffle for nominations.
They're Jamacian, so they're not hung up on color and race achievements like the U.S. Their entire country is black, so, they are the ones that give white people awards if they see that they deserve it.
@@desertweasel6965 yeah man. You make the point.
The fact that there are still so many here regularly in 2024 is living proof of how iconic this man and his music still is to this day! R.I .P. Bob Marley!
Peter Tosh is so chilled
I think it’s called Stoned!

He doesn't force his voice at all, it comes out naturally and makes me feel so nostalgic and melancholic...

Bob Marley and the wailers made my day. Rest in peace Bob.
I'm old enough to remember when black recording artists in America played instruments. It doesn't get better than 60's-70's Motown and Reggae. And thank you Chris Blackwell, or we would never have heard The Wailers - The best of the best.
Ohh sweetheart' Long live.
