Feel like I was born too late and missed out on so much, including the legend that is Bob Marley. Of course his name is globally famous and I knew who he was and what he was about, but the the One Love biopic really brought me to research Bob and listen to his music. As a young man, he is such an inspiration.

In July 1977, Bob Marley was diagnosed with acral lentiginous melanoma on his toe -- a type of skin cancer not resultant of sun exposure. For religious reasons Bob rejected treatment (and good prognosis) until it was too late and the cancer spread throughout his body.
Until he could carry on no more, he chose to tour and perform -- to continue spreading his message and joy through wonderful music until the very end in May 1981.
