Just came back home from Jaco, Costa Rica, and I heard Bob Marley all over the place there. Them beach boys and girls love their Reggae as much as the rest of the world. I saw Peter Tosh singing Johnny B Goode in a video in the Philippines in 1984, and have been a fan of the music ever since!
I grew up list to Marley. He was a famous star in the late 70s and 80s and stills to this date. I remembered everywhere I went such a coffee shop, friend house... etc. I would listen to Bob Marley. He took traditional regea of Jamaica that is based just on drum and introduced modern equipment as guitars, saxophone,keyboard..ect, and created a new version of regea that invaded the world. Not to forget , his lyrics, he talked about injustice in this world, the racism, the hopes. He was truly a pure artist who tried to use the music as a platform to touch and change the world.
Absolutely. Only those who lived during that time know what a true international music superstar Bob Marley was in 1978-'79. They don't come any bigger than how big he was. And not only because it was great music but he came across as genuine. There was no bullshit about him. What you saw was what you got. And I'm sure you know the very difficult poverty in which he grew up which just magnifies what it must it have been like for him to go into the stratosphere of wealth and game? They say he went back to the village where he grew up and they said to him, "You're not Bob Marley. You're an imposter. The real Bob Marley would never come back here, not to this dreadful place," or something to that effect. And agree Bob was a true artist in every sense and of the kind there's not many in the music business. He definitely had a thing or two to say, moet importantly, that's what I always liked, his brashness and outspokenness. He made you listen, dared you to listen, maybe. And that band, they deserve just as much credit. It was a true ensemble and cohesive unit, a true band, I guess. This performance is also just flawless.
Not certain where you got your information from but nine miles which is wheee Bob came from was not dreadful at all ! It is a beautiful hamlet in the parish of St Ann , trench town which is where he honed his talents was not paradise , but it was a place where the scourge of colonial brutality bred a pool of the extremely inspired and talented people like Bob to rise above hate and bigotry. Although not picture perfect trench town was beautiful in its own way . Respectfully from another citizen of that horrible place that you have referenced🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲

Watching MJ's vids gives me goosebumps, watching Bob literally brings me to tears......FATHER GOD you alone know why.....There's a saying: Die a Hero, or Live long enough to become a Villain.....JAH was not going to let this happen to such a blessed Human Being. Bob Marley reached such a height at such a young age, that when he it was impossible for him to reach any higher, JAH just said "Come home my son, your work is done, but your name shall endure forever". #WhataLegend.
@@jeffbaker5705 well said, yes you’re right! There are good people with or without. My one daughter’s boyfriend is covered, and he’s a great person. My other daughter’s boyfriend has none, and he’s also a great person. People’s true beauty comes from the inside out anyway, in the shape of their character, heart and soul
Bob was charismatic and a philosophical preacher. When he performs it’s like watching spirituality before your eyes. I always feel the need to mention these musicians. They were incredibly disciplined. The rhythm section never sways from that groove. Many drummers can’t play reggae. It’s very simple, but not easy. Bassist never gets distracted from that bass hook. Nobody is playing where they shouldn’t be playing. For such a large band that is really impressive. It’s all about the groove and Bob… and getting the message across!
Yes, but which "spirituality"? Spirituality of rastafarianism? - Did you ever studied a little "philosophy" and "beliefs" of rastafarianism? It is totaly twisted "spirituality". "Communion" is a smoking marihuana. Marley has at least 10 wifes and numerous children. You think he was in his lifestyle stand up father to all his children, who give them all his time and care? C'mon man, be real, and look at the deeds of someone, consequance, not just pleasent feeling of his words or music which give you good mood..

Africa Unite. I still get goosebumps whenever I hear this version. Soweto born and raised, lived thru, and survived apartheid, many fallen, but not all in vain; today, the evil of apartheid is gone, but much more work to be done as many of African descent face evil everyday in the west, and many places in this world, very sad, and all they do is talk a good game with zero action to set the people free!
These songs will never fade so full of African prophecy and so it has began just like he sang.African unite and out of Babylon, they think we ignorant yet they don't know we not at all.We going to our fathers land ...❤
I would argue this is the greatest reggae live concert of all time. I don't even think this audience fully grasp that they were witnessing a moment in infinity.
I listen at least once a day, in my car, at my place and when I turn music on it must be a gospel sing to acknowledge Christ and an anthem of reggae songs and dancing with my spliff, yeah.
Its amazing how the words of this legend is know from generation to generation and across EVERY country on the planet! Prophet, great mind and a great heart filled with peace and love. One of the greatest humans to have lived! Never heard anyone say they wanna listen to some OLD Bob Marley. Why? His words are timeless. Relevant till the end of time!
There was something special about Bob Marley. He had this electricity and personality that just united people with music. Reggae isn't massively popular...but everyone owns "Legend" by Bob Marley. It wasn't just a reggae album. It was something special. He captured lightning in a bottle. Everyone loves Bob Marley.
The first time I heard Bob was late in 1981, while I was taking a nap to prepare for my afternoon biology laboratory session, I heard a dormitory mate playing Bob's "Redemption Song." As listened to the wordings, a new feeling suddenly developed in me and I got up and asked: " who sang this song?" And he simply said, "One Bob Marley who passed few months ago" It was the first. time ever to listen to Bob. From that time Bob's music has been part of life!. May his soul rest in perfect peace!
Interesting that he said "one Bob Marley," as opposed to Bob Marley; who has been a worldwide legend years before you were even born. Lucky Dube is another great reggae legend from Soweto, South Africa.. don't know if you're familiar with him. I think the rhythm of reggae did much to enhance the meaningful lyrics of these artists.. who are now to be found world-over...
@@angeec.3312 Indeed, Bob Marley has inspired more than one. Today, thanks to him, Africa is full of many very good reggae singers including Alpha Blondy, Tiken Jah and others. It is even the second homeland of reggae.
@@bassirimakone4978 Actually, when one thinks of the rhythms of Africa, it could be said that reggae got its influence from there.. Yes, I like Alpha Blondy quite a bit; his message is a positive one also.
I was just a tyke when this music was being made and aired on the radio waves in my beloved Jamaica. My late Dad would've been in the same age group as Bob Marley and the Wailers, Peter Tosh, The I Threes...I literally learned to talk and sings to these rhythms. I remember the debates and controversies over wether the music coming out of the local youths would ever be established on the World's stage. Can't anything good come out of the world of the poor, Black and fatherless of Jamaicas people? Leading up to the release of 'One Love' , my heart gets more and more full as I watch the actors make the rounds of morning shows and interviews. I see the excitement in the Marley children, legal wife, former lovers and peers tell and retell what it was like when Bob Marley was alive. I'm most excited about the story being told by the people who lived, loved and experienced a piece of His beautiful soul. My Jamaican elders are all past, the last one in October. My memories of them are intermingled with these sounds and it's bittersweet.
I had the chance to see him live in “Porte de Pantin “ Paris , France in June 1978 i was 8 years old back then , We lived few blocks away from where the concert was taking place !!! Beautiful childhood memories of that amazing summer night , we were like 20 Moroccan kids and we basically sneaked inside without paying !!!! Until today I remember that show .....
Bob Marley's children and granchildren and generations to come are also gifted in musical and other artistic talent as well as entrepreneurship so he left us his greatness through them
Still 2024 😂 and listening to Bob since 1978,he wasnt just an artist ,he spend most of his money to helping others and gave hope in his lyrics to people all around the planet . A prophet Now in the tropics listening this BMW concert 🌴🌴🌴

True legend didn’t do it for the fame or the money ! Did it from his freakin heart !! May god continue to bless this man’s family they deserve it
Watching MJ's vids gives me goosebumps, watching Bob literally brings me to tears......FATHER GOD you alone know why.....There's a saying: Die a Hero, or Live long enough to become a Villain.....JAH was not going to let this happen to such a blessed Human Being. Bob Marley reached such a height at such a young age, that when he it was impossible for him to reach any higher, JAH just said "Come home my son, your work is done, but your name shall endure forever". #WhataLegend.
Look a this beautiful artist no tattoos, clean !!! Not like the trash u see nowadays!!! Bob we love u for ever ....

Irie mon' I stood at Bob's grave site outside of Ocho Rio's. His vibe is alive even after his death.
A legend for sure. Peace and Love Los Angeles
Tattoos werent fashionable in the 60s and 70s , thats why The Stones, Aerosmith or Iggy Pop doesnt have tats.
Tattoos doesn't make a person unclean, it's a person's judgemental thoughts that makes a person unclean.
Its 2024 and im still in love with Bob's concert
This here guys is the last record and the last show Marley made..this is what we call a masterpiece.. rest easy Marley.. LEGENDS
"Tears burning me,
way down in my heart,
way down, tears burnin'
Way down in my heart,
way down in my soul..."
If this concert actually took place in 1979, it was certainly not the last one because I saw Marley in Paris in 1980…
Bob was charismatic and a philosophical preacher.
I play Reggae...from Trinidad, played on the same stage with Ziggy an dem.....
But , that magical Marley voice......

Bob came as a messenger to the world !!! Part of his journey was having lots of women, not all will overstand , they all had a choice 😂 Saw Bob at Cardiff City Football Stadium 1976 absolutely amazing ❤
All the way from Kenya East Africa we love you so much Bob marley.... the greatest of all time..... your music will never be forgotten...
BEAUTIFUL!!!! 💯😀👍
The best live recording of Bob and the Wailers i believe. Remember watching it on Norwegian TV in the early 80s.
We need Bob Marley right now more than ever before in the course of human history. His voice was honest, fearless, and so righteous.

dont get me wrong i love bob marley as much as everyone but he would still be here if he wasnt such a idiot. he should of went to a doctor instead of letting the infection spread saying if god wants him dead then it shall be. what a fucktard but a beautiful amazing one lol

Bob Marley, THE G.O.A.T., bless us all, keep it real!!!🙏👍👻❣️

It will never have another one time has changed the world is totally different now full off madness that is going on
Absolutely… but people like Bob Marley are only granted to us, only on the rarest occasion, when the universe is in a state of perfection.

I would argue this is the greatest reggae live concert of all time. I don't even think this audience fully grasp that they were witnessing a moment in infinity.
Rarely has anyone realized History as they were in the Making of It! How could you?
By the way
Oh stop it.
For you only okay
We are all witnessing a moment of infinity at all times. If we can still the mind, we can inhabit that space ... with no pain and no fear.
Music to the world 🌎good music, will never fade

Sa musique 🎶 a graver les cœurs aux belles âmes il est l'artiste dans tous les sens du terme one love bob Julie
I listen at least once a day, in my car, at my place and when I turn music on it must be a gospel sing to acknowledge Christ and an anthem of reggae songs and dancing with my spliff, yeah.
Sitting with my ass in the sand drinking beer on the Gulf coast watching the sun set and listening to this masterpiece! RIP Bob Marley ✊️🇯🇲
👌🙏🏃👌🔥🎶💪😁😄👂🏃🏃😁👏👏
Its amazing how the words of this legend is know from generation to generation and across EVERY country on the planet! Prophet, great mind and a great heart filled with peace and love. One of the greatest humans to have lived! Never heard anyone say they wanna listen to some OLD Bob Marley. Why? His words are timeless. Relevant till the end of time!

Yes he is a Prophet and in these times of Wars...he is a True Spiritual Leader..not like the made up nonsense.. dominating the World...right now..🌹
...Yes Bob Marley went and is big Espiritual Men of World for all generation...!!!Speak and Spoked about peace in the world...!!
So true. The music and words are timeless. It's never too old.
Ouvindo esse clássico em 2024, cadê os brasileiros que curti Bob... Salvador Ba - BR
Bob Marley and team was just Phenomenal... Rest easy Grandpa Bob.
@@bassirimakone4978
Actually, when one thinks of the rhythms of Africa, it could be said that reggae got its influence from there..
2024 still Bob Marley is not Dead And he never dies. Jah jah we love him wherever he is.
You are so lucky. Feeling the drums and hearing the music in your own ears and and seeing him with your own eyes is priceless.
God blessed you, Allah or Marley... As you want... He loves you

Bob is not a musician, he is a messenger sent on a mission by the most High and he delivered the message well. Avatar don't die, they change form, hence he continues to live through his message of love. Ride on Jah Soldier.
I heard of Bob Marley, over the years, but I just started listening at 64 and now I can't stop, I wish I had a started listening years ago, but it's good exercise music relaxing it's just good to listen, and what Bob Marley music was protest music sending a message, it's still needed in multiple geographic areas around the planet.
Bob Marley was about a light years advance 2024 and still listening his music.
I remember watching Marley’s tours on VHS as a kid, he mesmerised me…
