this video spoke to my soul, sheered out brown lipsticks are my absolute favourite to deepen my lip colour! I mainly use the elf satin lipstick in cider (£3 and a great formula) and glossier generation g in Leo (needs lip balm underneath but I really like the effect when my lips are in good condition). I also bought the burts bees red dahlia tinted lip balm a while back on your recommendation and I absolutely love it - this video has basically become a wish list for me, I literally want everything here! (Ps absolutely shocked and horrified you didn't include Clinique black honey /j)
So happy to hear this Ellie, thank you! Nooo I didn't even think of Black Honey 😱🖤 I had quite a few brown balms so that lipstick didn't spring to mind this time. Might have to sneak it into the next colour group on berries though! x
Makes my heart happy you're still enjoying the Canmake balms-- I recommended them way back when you asked for j-beauty recommendations initially, and they're still one of my absolute favorite makeup products ever! The shade Earl Grey Leaf is probably my wedding color. 💝 Very similar to Chocolate Lily but more of a copper tone and more pigment, since it's in the main line and not in the "tint" line. Best $10 tinted balm I've ever gotten my hands on.
Ugh I love them all! My current favorite is Shiseido color gel lip balm in Juniper. It’s like a berry chocolate. Great formula...very hydrating but not too slippery on the lips.
Absolutely Sara, love it! Definitely more of a sheer lipstick but given I bent the rules slightly beyond balms here, I might include more sheer lipstick shades next time 😄 x
I’ve been obsessed with the Fenty Beauty Lip Balm in Cocoa Drizzle lately-such a unique cool toned brown! Also, I don’t think fresh would discontinue balms, mainly because they’re one of their best sellers. I’m just hoping they’ll reformulate the balms so that the bullet isn’t so soft and easy to melt 😭
I've been wanting to try that shade! I have the cool-pink shade Pinch Me which I like, but definitely was craving something brown and nude-y. One girl said it made her look hypothermic so that kind of scared me off because I know it's a cool-toned shade, and my complexion is a bit too cool as it is
Again,an amazing video! I can watch your videos and relax without wanting to acquire the products. It’s such a strange yet calming feeling which I’ve never felt with a beauty review channel before.
This is such wonderful feedback! Thank you 🥰 So happy to hear you can come here to enjoy beauty without feeling pressure to shop - that's always the feeling I'd hoped to create! x
Hey Matilda, I discovered your channel around a few months ago, whenever I feel sleepy or negative, I just watch your videos, your voice is so calming and nice. I really wonder your face too! I sort of have an idea from your descriptions but just not sure. Thank you for your videos. Love your adjectives for colours and feels of the products as well. This is just an amazing channel I love, wanted to show some appreciation. 🐹🌸🤍
One of my favourite brown lip balms is L'Oréal Glow Paradise 107 Brown Enchante. It's not completely brown, with a drop of rose, which enhances my lip color. It feels buttery on my lips and I like the fragrance of the balm. I also have a nude shade from Glow Paradise to make more "fresh" look.
This video finally convinced me to buy Cookies and Cocoa from Fenty, which I’ve been eyeing for a long time. I absolutely adored it. It’s an actual hydrating gloss as opposed to a sticky one, like the Fenty Gloss Bomb creams. I wore it throughout the ENTIRE Christmas holidays.
I'm really hoping they're just changing the packaging on the Sugar lip balms. I feel like a click up that prevents you from over twisting it up would be beneficial since its such a soft formula. Also, you have to try the Clinique Moisture Surge Lip Pops. They're divine! Effortless color, moisturizing, and great color range.
hey matilda! i know you've done a k-beauty feature way back, but i think it's worth another exploration! for the past few years, lots of asian makeup has been focused on mood, cool-versus-warm undertones, and mlbb vibes. i would love to hear your thoughts on 3ce velvet lip tints (especially since so many western brands are making products inspired by the korean velvet tints now), or even a 3ce brand overview! i think their color palette and overall aesthetic could really speak to you :D
I have a much lower budget than most of these, but here’s one of my favs: Burts ‘n Bees tinted lip balms!! I love all of them, the plumping ones, the shine ones ect😍 xxLinda
Always very honest about my love of luxury and indie brands so unfortunately I don't use drugstore products very often, but berries will probably be next Shannon! 😄🍇 Thank you for watching x
My favorite things of the fall: Dark nail polish and brown tinted lip balms! I’ve been planning to get some of colourpop’s just a tint crayons! Amazing video!💕
That Dior Mahogany color is everything!! I don’t know whether to try it in balm or their lip oil version! Also I LOVE Persona cosmetics.... their matte lipsticks, lip balms, blushes, shadows and brow gels are so good and now they have a new cream bronzer stick I’m dying to get 💕
I have that Rare Beauty balm in Support (part of a mini set I got for Christmas), but I've been using Thankfuk from a different mini set. Just perfect for my 10 min face I'll sometimes throw on before my job. Perfect when paired with her terracotta liquid blush
Brown berry or cocoa berry, finally an apt way to describe those plum-red-cocoa browns that I know aren't too light for me, but also aren't too pink or too fuchsia. I'd reach for these over a typical mulberry, pink, or even a nude any day. I usually save my sheer and fresh formulations for juicier colors a là Korean or Japanese-style makeup, but these balms look sooo pretty. And the nails are everything. ❤ I know it's not a sheer but I suppose could be applied lightly, is my OG brown berry - Revlon's Rum Raisin. I believe there's a gloss version of this now too.
I'll highly recommend Cezanne 105 (a Japanese brand), which has a similar colour as the one from canmake but it's more matte. it already became one of my favourite brands now because of the balm
Thanks for the suggestion. If Cenzanne is more matte, is it drier than Canmake? I consider between these two but I have kinda dry lips especially in the winter.
@@tranthuytien1012 my lips are also quite dry in autumn and winter and I tried both of them. Canmake is a bit too moist and shiny for me. I personally like lip balm with matte finish. @@wanni_zr842 You're absolutely right. Canmake lipsticks in general give brighter and shinier finish touch. I actually bought the Cezane 105 today (I live in Japan), the color is soooo good and it's not too dry. I used to buy Canmake but thanks to you I tried Cezane today ^^
Ooh yes! I'll be looking through my blush collection tomorrow to see if I have a colour close to this 😍 Maybe Nudestix Sunkissed would be closest? I saw a new Chanel blush shade called Brun Rouge recently that looked lovely too x
@@matildaonvideo Ooo maybe! I wonder if it’s a tad orangey though? Who knows, as you said in your video it seems to show up on people’s skin colours differently! The Chanel brun rouge swatches look beautiful, reminds me of pre-Raphaelite painting 😊
i adore this shade! i got the dior lip glow oil as a 21st birthday gift and it is my perfect fall shade. i might have to pick up that rare beauty lip balm too!
The Pat McGrath lip color is actually my go to pinkish nude. :) it’s my favorite lipstick in my collection and I’m glad it earned a spot in your video.
a really good drugstore rosy brown/sheer brick tinted lip product is the chapstick total hydration moisture + tint lipbalm in the shade merlot! it usually retails at around $4 at target, walmart etc :0)
bc canmake is a japanese brand! i do find korean brands to be more pigmented, a bit glossy or matte but never rly shimmery and jp brands formulation to be a bit sheer and soft with a bit of a shimmer. seeing you use canmake, a drug store must have i’ve been using since high school made me did a double take as i usually see a more western brands here on your channel 😆 i’m glad you like it and thanks for the video! definitely trying the fresh sugar one, never had that shade before ♥️
Thank you Alia! I loved trying Canmake for the first time in my Japanese Makeup video a couple of years ago. A friend is moving to Japan soon so she might become my beauty guide there! ☺️ x
My favourite is I'm meme I'm pep! Lip balm. It's the most pigmented balm/stain I've ever used. I need pigment because my lips are literally white. Great video!
Definitely looking forward to any Berry/Deep Rose lip balms and similar products.Bobbi Brown's Crushed Jelly Stick in Cranberry and several of the NARS Soft Matte lip balms seem to fall into that category and such colours are my absolute favourite. I’ve never lost my teen goth flare, it’s only moved towards looking like a Gothic Novel heroine when I favour a natural look 😅
Ooh Deep Rose might need to be a separate category from Berry, I love the sound of that! 😍 I wish the NARS Soft Matte balms would launch in Australia, they always sound so good x
You should really try Elizabeth Arden tinted lip balms! They look sheer but visible, they leave some tint behind so the color lasts longer than you'd think and they actually DO moisturize! Ever since I found them I use nothing else, highly recommended.
I was thinking of getting something for a little bday gift for myself and then you uploaded! A perfect timing to check on the recommendation list and maybe I can get one of these as a self reward present 🤗❤️
Canmake’s Chocolate Lily was a favourite for such a long time - back when j-beauty was more about bright pinks and corals, browny shades were so much harder to find. (Actually I think this market trend might be why T04 is so subdued and sheer? “T” stands for “tint”, so the four T-shades are much sheerer than the regular stay-on balm rouge) Anyways, it was my first venture into brown(er) lip colours, and now I’m forever hooked. I got the (regular) stay on balm rouge in no.17 recently, and it’s a more pigmented (still very warm) brown. I’ve been reaching for it a lot - wonderful stuff!
I LOVE the Fresh sugar tinted lip balm! I also noticed they were out of stock when I ran out of my clear one a few weeks back. I REALLY hope they will be bringing them back 😭💔
Ooh I love those two as well Anna! More sheer lipsticks than tinted balms, but now that I'm blurring the categories a bit more in these videos, I might reconsider what I include in future 😍 x
This is my absolute favorite color to wear pretty much year round! A sheer brown with a barely there hint of nude pink or berry and I’m sold. Some of my favorite shades are BFF Liner and Shaka Just a Tint from Colourpop and Sol Mate from Sol de Janeiro (just wish that formula was a little more hydrating).
I absolutely love sheer browny shades because they really suit my colouring but I had a very bad experience with the Flesh 3 balm by Pat. It sort of reacted with my lips and turned more and more into a very bright pink as the day went on, which doesn’t suit me at all. The pink was also more like a stain and therefore very hard to remove, I don’t know what happened there but I haven’t dared to try another one of her products since. I might get one of your other recommendations as an alternative though!
Funny you should mention this Hannah - I've never noticed that happening on my lips before with Flesh 3, but I spotted a slight pink stain on my arm after testing products to plan this video and wondered which shade it was 🤔 I assumed it was the Lip Glow but maybe not! How strange, I wonder if the new Pat Lip Fetish balms are different or just repackaged x
Won’t lie, the matching nails give me so much life.
I don’t know why it made me so happy, it just does
It makes *me* so happy to hear this Lisandra! 😄💅 x

I LOVE the Fresh sugar tinted lip balm! I also noticed they were out of stock when I ran out of my clear one a few weeks back. I REALLY hope they will be bringing them back 😭💔
It's a bit strange isn't it Rose! Fingers crossed 😩 x
Thank you for sharing! Fresh's spice is one of my favorites!
Thank you Elyse, glad you're a Spice fan too! 😄 x
We don't have an Autumn season in the Philippines but that's not gonna stop me! 🤎 These colors have stolen my heart - thank you for introducing us 🥰
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed this colour family ☺️🍫 x
Haha love these. I would’ve added painterly and Chanel’s coco flash in moment
Ooh I love those two as well Anna! More sheer lipsticks than tinted balms, but now that I'm blurring the categories a bit more in these videos, I might reconsider what I include in future 😍 x
Sheer tints are my favourite 🤗❤️ ! I still saw some colors were missing in sephora for the fresh balms! Noo, i have to grab another icon
So nervous about the Fresh balms Anca! I hope they might just be repackaging them 🤞 x
Thanks for sharing your picks Anne! ☺️🍫 x
My favorite kind of colors!
Nice to hear Aparna ☺️🍂 x
Nars laguna tinted lip balm is my fave ♥️
Rare Beauty "Support" is going on the wishlist after this!
Glad you liked the look of it Maggie! ☺️ x
I love brown lipstick and I love tinted lip balm!🤗
You're in the right place then Kenniana! 😄🍫 Thank you for watching x
Beautiful picks, Matilda 😍 Bobbi Brown Honey and Fresh Spice are mainstays in my collection💄 You’ve tempted me to expand within this colour family 🙈
Thank you Kat! Love your colour choices ☺️👏 x
