I just lost my grandfather, and even though it was already a few weeks ago, it still feels incredibly fresh. I wasn't able to be there, no one was, it was sudden. I haven't seen him since may, and its been tearing me up. While other family have been having a hard time with it, I feel like I'm the only one who is still really struggling with it. Me and him were incredibly close, and I'm kind of at a loss right now in life. There was a lot I wanted to still do with him. I've been having trouble kind of getting through it and understanding it while not necessarily having someone to bounce off, as there really isn't anyone who was as close to him that I can easily talk to other than my father, though he sometimes has trouble talking in general. Seeing Ludwig talk about his fathers death, and simply watching sunsets and wanting to settle down and just kind of live in the background really resonated with me. I've been trying to think of ways to hold on to the memories I had with him, and have been anxious about the future, especially right before watching the video. Its late at night and I just feel dead inside, as I have since the day it happened. Hearing someone talk about what I'm going through currently helps though. Weirdly allowed me to step back and think about that, even though the world seems so messed up right now, there will always be those moments where we can slow down and remember our past and the good that came from it. IDK. There are just so many things I'm going to miss, and I'm afraid of one day losing, but I'm at least glad that they happened. Though I absolutely hate that it has happened, I'm at least glad that it happened now, and not earlier. With modern technology, even though he never really used it, I still have a plethora of photos, videos, voicemails, and so many other things to remember him for as long as possible. Its hard, but I know he would want me to keep going and not let his death stop me from achieving what I want in life. Its just hurts though.
I loved the last few minutes. I feel Josh's response to the "Are you happy?" question on a personal level. It's complicated, it's changing, but I plan on being happy. Loved the episode, huge fan of Ludwig's. Let's live a good life, guys.
My mom used to smile a certain way, a lot of my memories of her are from after she was diagnosed with Huntington's, but as it progressed she stopped being able to control how hard she'd smile so one of my most prominent memories of her later years was a big goofy smile. Whenever I see that smile in pictures or whenever I see someone else make a similar smile I just lose myself in a mix of grief and nostalgia. I'm glad in a way that I didn't repress those feelings completely, even if it's hard.
I lost my mom when I was 8. Ludwig talking about the things you forget is the first time I cried because of missing my mom for over 10 years. This whole interview was brilliant, I respect him more now, before I just thought that he was a bro type.

Love chef Josh. Have admired Ludwig from afar. Being apart of the dead dad's club myself and in a totally different way. after Ludwigs talk of being in a mindset of "no matter what it'll work out" almost felt guilty "doing well" for myself after the pain that death has caused. You guys have touched my heart, made me cry, and filled me with an immense amount of inspiration. I love my dad and I love you guys. Thankyou
This is the first time I’ve watched this show and I am thoroughly impressed with how well done it is. The questions are perfectly executed. Nothing was too quick or too deep too soon. It was very natural and a beautiful way to bring a human presence back to someone that to some people has become an actor in his own life.
I've felt like i was sitting with them, just chatting and listening, remembering my recently passed away close friend, grandfather and mother. Having this imaginary talk with them I just felt really relieved: "everything is going to work out" - are the words i'm going to remember for a long time. Thanks for a such nice video.
Their talk about their fathers got me so emotional, I'm so sorry you had to go through that at such young ages 🥺❤ Amazing conversation overall with a really natural flow, very pleasant watch!

I only knew because he talked about it in one of his streams, otherwise I would have been as surprised as you, haha!
Same, I was like, "LUDwig?!"
Certainly no complaints on my behalf
He tweeted to them during a stream and then they responded to him and they were like, "lets do it"
@@TurtlesC4nFlyYep I was watching and everytime a new episode of Last Meals dropped I was hoping it was him! I was so pumped when I saw this pop up at work lol
This gets us closer to having Ludwig on Smosh dont win mario party
oh please I'd love that so much!!
or any amount of the yard doing don't win omg
The yard boys (probably not Slime, he might be a little too out there lmao) on a TNTL would go so hard
Oh yeah 😂 i would love to see that
HOLY THIS IS SUCH A GOOD IDEA
Trust me he doesn't get enough credit because people mostly know him of funny short clips. He's insanely intelligent and caring
He’s a huge theatre kid lol
Ludwig picking sushi for the cook-off so that Trevor makes one of his favorite foods is genius 😌
He also trained with a master sushi chef for a day lol
somehow I don’t think Ludwig knows this information 😂
@@goode_bagTrevor is still probably gonna destroy him tho. He’s possibly got the best culinary resume at the Mythical Kitchen.
Why did this interview make me cry for multiple different reasons? Top notch.
Nah for real
Yeah same it was a good one.
I have never watched one of the last meal episodes and I am fighting back tears right now when they’re talking about their fathers; this is so sweet and amazing. Seeing the side of both of them is just making me so emotional right now, you both are amazing people and your dad’s would be proud.💕
I’m a big fan of Ludwig. And mythical kitchen. This is one of the best episodes of last meal. You can tell Lud and Josh are fans of eachother and that translates for the show.
I did not know about this channel before Ludwig talked about it and I have not watched a video before this one. And honestly, what a shame that is. Great channel, great energy between the two of you and very deep topics. Love it and will stick around!
Welcome! You've got so many good videos to watch, especially Last Meals.
might be my favourite last meal this episode felt so natural , the energy between you two is genuine
Thought Trevor was there to actually make that Ludwig's last meal for a second
Thai video is so wholesome and brought up memories of people I loved you past away, seeing how others got through and turned out, gives me hope for a better more caring future.
truly so glad to have this to decompress with today :) thanks guys
I like the energy between these two, I'd def watch more collabs between them. Make it happen!
It’s inspiring seeing someone come from a small community like melee and make such a splash. He still supports the scene to this day, great guy.
Was it small? Like peak melee was one of the biggest esport
@@OctoMatoe it kinda was considering it was very local and intimate, most people within the scene knew each other etc
@@OctoMatoe even at its peak, melee as an esport was never "that popular". it was popular if you were already a nerd/followed gaming, but the vast majority of people would have no idea that the melee community even existed.
@@litapd311 if we are talking about the vast majority of people, all esports are not known. Even more back then.
@@OctoMatoe100% with
you. the biggest watched esport was a league tourney, and that did 6.4 million viewers. college football games do around that number consistently, esports will never be that popular in the grand scheme of sports in general and idk why people try to convince themselves it will be
I think Ludwig and Josh couldn't be more of a perfect match. They're similar in a lot more ways than I thought. Especially their personalities.
I definitely think Josh is gonna be playing pickup basketball with them now. Would be sick if they had him on The Yard too.
Josh is legitimately one of the best interviewers of all time, he always seems so authentic. He actually cares so much. Everytime
I have no complaints, even though Lud was the last person I anticipated to see on this event.
I have no complaints, even though Lud was the last person I anticipated to see on this event. LMAO
what a great episode. So glad MK started this series. by far my favorite thing they do!
been watching Lud for 4/5 years but recently, for some reason, i've been getting more and more into his content and would consider him my favorite youtuber/streamer, we're always used to watch his live "persona" being goofy and entertaining so it's always really nice to see this more genuine, real side, it even got me emotional at some point, it was a really nice and lovely chat to hear ❤ gotta love Ludwig, parasocially
his interview with Dr. K from a while ago is really good too!!!
@@destiny-ph5gk i remember watching luds video! but should rewatch cause it was long ago i feel
The fact about the "My Brother Slam is Dead" is some Nardwuar level research.
as someone who also lost their dad at 10 years old, hearing someone that I look up to speak on such similar experiences and have so much emotional maturity means so much. thank you mythical for giving me this video
I had the exact same experience. Hearing him talk about starting to forget what his dad’s voice sounded like made me choke up
This one made me cry in unexpected ways
Thank you so much for this episode everyone
2:07 This is how the story goes 🗣🔥
This was great. I think Lud is very funny but it is also great when he gets serious about stuff because he adds a lot of insight into the things he says and has a very good approach to how he views things. BTW, "What if you said the channel right" was wild. Wasn't expecting it and it made me laugh so hard.
Thankyou
Very good video. He may act goofy but he’s really whole hearted. Much respect.
Lud is honestly such a sweetheart
This is the first time I’ve watched this show and I am thoroughly impressed with how well done it is. The questions are perfectly executed. Nothing was too quick or too deep too soon. It was very natural and a beautiful way to bring a human presence back to someone that to some people has become an actor in his own life.
I don't watch Ludwig often but hearing him talk about his dad was very sweet. He also seems to have a good head on his shoulders.
Happy to see two sides of my UA-cam fyp collabed
0:22 Your'e Ludwig Ahgren - we have to know!
ludwig and mythical kitchen are my fav channels rn it's like christmas
I've felt like i was sitting with them, just chatting and listening, remembering my recently passed away close friend, grandfather and mother. Having this imaginary talk with them I just felt really relieved: "everything is going to work out" - are the words i'm going to remember for a long time. Thanks for a such nice video.
Their talk about their fathers got me so emotional, I'm so sorry you had to go through that at such young ages 🥺❤
Amazing conversation overall with a really natural flow, very pleasant watch!
Mogul Mail being Mythical was not expected.
Is calling Lud Mogul Mail some kind of meme?
@@explosiveejaculate6484 yes but dont disrespect mogul mail like that. ludwig is abhorrent
@ I get it now
Like 2 friends talking and vibing, best type of chemistry!!
Great vid!!👍👍👍💫💫
I love this channel, it brings out something so natural and human conversation where people can open up about their life and experiences. ludvig the goat aswell 10/10
Oooo if we got Ludwig, I'd love to see Sir Mr Chris Affable Abroad in Japan, Sunday Times Best seller, Daimyo of Otsu, personal friend of King Charles of Great Britain, and Emperor Naruhito of the Empire of Japan, Number one consumer of Famichiki in the world - appear on the show
And then a monkey sounds pretty good after Chris
Ook
Id definitely want to see chris on this channel, it'll be like watching an uncle pop off about their life stories or problems
Like uncles in a Kopitiam (traditional coffee shop; in Singapore for me specifically) chatting
@@evertime123 Oo yes indeed, monkey would be great on here
@@FionaPGT Haha yeah. So much stuff to talk about with Chris
I think the title is pretty accurate. except the wagyu. I think Number one consumer of Famichiken is more accurate
I hope Aiden somehow catches heat this episode
I love these interviews so much, because the guests are people that we've watched for years in many different settings, but when they're talking and eating with Josh, it feels like the closest we can get to how they are on a regular basis. Like, they aren't having to amp up the energy, or act a certain way, they're just being themselves.
Dude. Yes. Ludwig you’re so grounded and insightful. Josh, as always, an amazing interviewer. Thank you both.
genius video, so happy to see these two in the same room! feel like I keep seeing things where two interesting people finally meet for an interesting convo and I love it!
I was waiting for this!!! I'm glad it came so fast after Ludwig talked on stream about wanting to be on the show
Its always hilarious when parents try and hide stuff from their kids like they're teenagers sneaking around
Worse when they forget you are there and start shaking the walls.
@@cameronroberts5461 My mom has physical health problems, including with her heart, and one time when I was like 7 or 8 I heard her "screaming in pain" while I was up late playing on my nintendo instead of sleeping, and just bolted down to my parents room to help her however I could. Kinda funny in retrospect
God can you imagine a Slime version? It would be SO UNHINGED
i need this!!!
I would sell a kidney to see that 🤣
9 cold factor courses
a slime last meal would kill, but idk how unhinged it'd be? i feel like slime gets to a really introspective place sometimes and has a lot of wisdom about death i'd wanna hear
He'd be electric
this was the best last meal episode ive seen. you two did so well at asking and conversing about certain topics. great work boys, much love.
I really believe that all of the things that have brought Ludwig fame will pale in comparison to the things he's yet to achieve because he's so down to earth and kind hearted. Watching his streams for years it's easy to forget that that his narcissism is a persona and that he's a top tier human.
"I have too much value in a number I have no control in"
great quote for many scenarios.
Dude just wants to bake bread for the people, I didn't know anything about him but I love him as a brother already
If he really wanted to bake bread he'd be doing it bruh - man has enough dough to start a chain of bakeries
@@Wilbsss Why rush though? He's still doing big things, let him have it.
@@Wilbssshe doesn't want a chain though. He wants to retire, use his saving to open a neighborhood bakery with his girlfriend, and serve his community and live in obscurity. No mogul moves dude, just the simple life
Really great chemistry here and it was interesting seeing a more vulnerable side of Lud
A show with both Tom Hanks and Ludwig is a banger
Also gorgonzola Ramsay
It's his last meal because he's going to take back what's ours and he's not expecting to make it back
35:49 for anyone curious, that's technically correct but does not convey the same meaning, it's a very litteral translation to "that's hot"
il aurait pu dire «c’est super/génial» ou «c’est kiffant» je comprends qu'il ne parle pas le français couramment, mais je le trouve surprenant qu'il n'essaye pas de s'améliorer depuis plusieurs années
@@SpaceC4se I feel like he probably knows those words/phrases, but was trying to translate "that's fire" while still conveying the slang meaning of "that's great". He just doesn't know if they say "that's fire" in France.
He is so present and positive. It's lovely!
I had not even heard of this channel until this episode and man does it slap. Such a cool message. It really helps.
These 2 are some of my favorite youtubers of all time, so this episode is very dear and great.
this was way more candid and wholesome than I expected
Imma say it. QT is so lucky. He’s so sweet.
Not to mention smokin’ hot
@@theplusman5171 respectfully 🤭😮💨
They're both so lucky. He always sounds so proud and supportive of her, it's so precious
I think this episode helped me as a person, thank you.
Josh is like the best combination between Nardwuar and Sean (Hot Ones). Love it!
True
On the Mythical survey I had mentioned having more collabs with streamers, and wow this did not disappoint!
I am so pleasantly surprised by this one. Freaking love Ludwig.
Why? He's an idiot.
Based comment! ♥
Damn Lud and Josh have such good chemistry, they seem so chill together and I really enjoyed watching them just talk about their lives
Wow first time seeing Last Meal, great format, very amazing conversation with Ludwig. Idk what the raw recording was like but astounding edit and pacing.
Im ready for the throw down battle! Trevor vs Ludwig will be great
Lud is too charming, he can't keep getting away with this
less than a minute in and Last Meals is already channeling their inner Nardwuar
