It’s not weird, it’s GLORIOUS🥰. The Doctor should always be played by a fan, IMO. It helps if the actor appreciates the show and gets the fan community. Imagine playing this part, but you can’t stand children. Or you shun fan conventions. It would be a nightmare.

He’s got the hair that got bigger and bigger, he’s got the checkered pants, the hand gesture, he plays an instrument and he’s got the projection of im the one to stop the monsters.
You have David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston who liked the old series as kids and occasionally reminisce to them, but Peter Capaldi is on a completely different level. You can tell how passionate he is about the show as he always tries to incorporate the previous Doctors into his own and sees his Doctor as a culmination of all of them, rather than something new.
I dunno mind, David's way more of a fan than Christopher, Christopher admitted to not being a fan, whereas David absolutely loved Doctor who! You should watch the behind the scenes of time crash and his reaction to playing alongside Peter Davison!
All you need to do is watch the Graham Norton interview he did to understand how much he loved the show. In his 20s he wrote multiple letters to the Doctor Who fan club in his area to tell them how much he loved the show and how he wanted to be a higher up of the club / take over
David was such a big fan that in 2003 during the making of the Richard E. Grant Shalka animated series, Tennant requested a guest cameo because it was likely the closest he'd get to being in Dr. Who! If only he knew...

The thing the Fan Show has done that not many others have is indulge Peter's fanboy nature. And as a result, your Peter Capaldi videos are ones I look back at often. Everywhere else asks 'when are you leaving?', 'what was it like to work with Jenna?', 'what's your favourite monster?'. You lot give him a chance to just show off how much this all means to him. Keep it up, you lovely bunch!

This is why he's such a fantastic doctor. He not only knows every doctor and all the stories (he knew the song of the doctor off by heart from about 40 years ago!) but he loves them all probably more than any millennial fan. He has been with it since the beginning. He IS the doctor, and I love him.
I could watch him and listen to him talk for hours. The hair is magnificent (seriously, does he just wake up with it that curly?), the smile, the voice...he is beautiful and perfect and no one can tell me otherwise. I got freaking chills when he started singing. And he's got a great knack for caricatures!

Actor, singer, artist...Capaldi is a true Renaissance man, and the Doctor we need AND deserve. He's wonderful and I hope he decides to stick around for series 11 as well.

Nope, sadly, his doctor died at the end of series 10, but who knows, maybe they will start to bring back old faces for new seasons, with those old faces being new doctors, like David tennent being the 10th doctor, maybe he could become the 14th, and same with the rest

This reminds me of how my grandpa and I would sit and draw together and just talk about stuff when I was very young. I loved that. Peter is so wonderful. I had a big grin on my face through the whole video hearing him talk about all the different Doctors. Plus the man can draw! You never cease to amaze Mr. Capaldi 👍👏💙💙

right. great actor, musician, artist.....most of us can't even do ONE of those...
So much love for him. His passion for the show really shows through his outstanding performance and he brings back so much of the spirit of the classics into the modern show, reminding me so much of the Doctors I grew up watching on my dad's VHS collections while bringing his own edge to it. I think he's an aspiring Doctor for somebody like me with Asperger's Syndrome, because he shows that struggling to show or understand emotions or a difficulty to connect with people doesn't make you a terrible or boring person. He's definitely up there with Pertwee, Troughton and Tom Baker for me.

Some people only see the grumpy old man, but he's possibly the most heartfelt Doctor there is.

I hope someone thinks to get the guy to do an art book. he also takes a lot of photos too and I'd love to see some of those. The best part is when he recites the lyrics to Pertwee's version of the Doctor Who theme!
And I love that Peter was into Punk Rock and modeled his Doctors look after David Bowie. I was talking Doctor who yesterday with my daughter on a long drive while simultaneously rocking out to Bowie. Doctor who needs a Bowie moment. Starman? Moonage Daydream? Or any number of other tunes would work!

Peter Capaldi never ceases to amaze me. He always brought something incredible to the table in each episode. He somehow managed to create an entirely new and lovable character, whilst also keeping the aspects of previous doctors that we all knew and loved. Besides that, he's just a fantastic and inspiring person! He's so calming and charming, and incredibly talented. The man can sing, play the guitar, act up a storm, he has a lovely accent, and he can apparently draw incredibly well. Seriously, what can't this man do? I can't wait to see what he does next, and he is by far one of my favorite doctors. Keep it up, my good sir!
I love that Peter points out that in the middle of Tom Baker's run that he discovered punk rock. He's really one of the coolest Doctors we've had.

Everyone was crying when Capaldi's ring fell off Whitaker's hand even if they hadn't seen Power of the Daleks (and even if they had barely noticed the wedding ring he always wore), but I so appreciated the reference to Two not being able to wear One's ring: "you can't expect a butterfly to fit back into its chrysalis."
Not only is he a brilliant excellent lovable Doctor but WOW he's SO great at drawing caricatures (and so quickly! Bet he's drawn them many times before) AND just a bliss to listen to! This is amazing in every level!

I grew up with Tom Baker as the reruns were shown on PBS over here. Fell in love with him and I was so young! Peter, you rank as one of my top 3 doctors - Tom was my first and therefor is the one who gets my honorary first position. After that, you and another are tied. So good! You will be sorely missed! Maybe put in a good word for Hugh Laurie next 😊👍

OMG is he talented as he is talking and drawing which is amazingly hard. He is so touchingly personal and enthusiastic about everything he expresses .
Peter Capaldi will always be my favorite Doctor I think. I cant imagine loving anyone elses quite as much as his. I watched his last couple of episodes today and cried a lot because its always sad to know that there are a finite number of episodes with him.

Can I just say he is the ultimate fan?! He started that magazine when he was young, he plays the theme with his rock guitar in his trailer, and now he draws the Doctors, and draw so wonderfully! And he plays the Doctor!
