I hope they explore ancient humanity civilization and our weapons and techs. We may have even defeated the forerunner if we hadn't been fighting the flood
matt mc we WOULD have defeated probably. By the time humanity and the forerunners started warring, humanity was fighting full scale wars on 2 fronts. One against forerunners One against flood As for tech, the Hellcat armor in H5 is an armor set found on an ancient human derelict ship. When worn by Spartan 2 operatives, the neural interface synced with 100% accuracy and efficiency, meanwhile spartan4s needed additional augments to support the neural burden. This suggests that ancient human warriors were all of Spartan 2 level of strength and augments. This makes sense seeing as at that point the entire race was bigger, stronger, and had longer lifespans.
@MinecraftPro15 it still took them a 1000 years to exhaust us. We were also allied with the San shyam or the prophets who had a similar level of technology. We had weapons technology that the forerunners had no offense towards initially. We were technological equals eventually except in slipspace and that
@MinecraftPro15 true I hope we get to explore more of our ancient technology and reverse engineer it in the halo games. Being human it must have a similar base technology code
I think we've all assumed Ancient Humans would or should work with us since we are them, just devolved. However, we have fought over trivial things in the past, perhaps Ancient Humanity did the same and either never got over their petty differences or maybe they stopped fighting each other and pooled their resources into a common goal. I hope our forefathers look to us with pride and hope instead of disgust and dread.
I for one would look at it as taking back my hurt progeny and nurse them back to strenght after there torture under the filthy forebastards. I hope they kill all the forebastards, lift us back up to our pure form and exterminate all the xenos with only mankind as the only existance . W40k has is nailed down.
In the novel Primordium, Forthencho says to Chakas that Ancient Humanity "was a single race, united and concerted in our goals". So unity and cohesion wasn't a problem for them unless they got infected by the Flood. However, in regards to possible surviving remnants of the Ancient Humans, they would likely be from territories broken up and isolated by Forerunner star-hopping tactics, so they might believe that they alone were the last survivors of Humanity. This would lead to however many fleets from all these territories fleeing the galaxy and being unaware of any other survivors due to protocols of comms silence to make it harder for the Forerunners to hunt them down. The ones who survive would then go on to found their own empires with distinct cultures over time. The reason I say this is because there would be no concievable way that an advanced civilization who had been living in the shadow of a far-larger, far-more-powerful hostile empire (Forerunners) wouldn't have multiple contingency plans for this exact outcome
@@fadelsukoco3092 Logically yes there should have been contingencies in place to prevent extinction from various factors. I mean we have them now. And yet it appears in canon that they didn't have any. Either that or the Forerunners learned of them all and put an end to them before they could be implemented.
Are you talking about in the Halo universe? Because Ancient Humanity's opinion of modern humanity in Halo likely would depend (if the Halo universe was reality) on whether they moved past the madness of self-destructive ideologies like Communism and "Progressivism". Based on my knowledge of Halo Lore modern humanity did get past that are now are united as a pseudo-nationalist military dictatorship, which isn't ideal, but few things are ever ideal.
I think ONI would try to secure an entire intact genome map of an ancient human. They would likely use that to make a new generation of spartans like a spartan V. The idea being to make spartan IV's and everything before look like child's play. Imagine if after infinite we don't play as the chief but one of the first spartan V's and go around clearing a path for humanity to return to our full glory
Personally, I think it would be an amazing thing to witness. I do not necessarily think that it would be hostile, because the Ancient-Human society from what we have seen is very pro-human and knowing what happened to their people, knowing that they were devolved and they were the last of their kind, an ancient human enclave would probably be overjoyed to find that the human race "defied" their forerunner oppressors, and have regained a degree of high technology, and it would make them feel less alone in the galaxy
I agree, at most what would happen is WE disagreeing with them and wanting to do things on our own in stupid ways like a teenager does. And THEM coming to cover our asses when we mess up, but eventually I think humanity would in almost as a whole worship them and look to them for guidance and growth like a kid who idolizes his father
Let us not forget that ancient humanity where quite imperialistic. Imperialism and the caste system are very close friends. It is true that they may feel some happiness that humanity survived but that doesn't remove the possibility of the negative side of humanity kicking in especially when they possess superior traits and may feel the need to expand again as the dominant species.
@@cringekiller348 I am an ignorant in Halo Lore but democracy does not mean an abscence of some sort of caste system. But hey, empires are a very common human system
'Very pro-human' - but what makes you so sure that they even _see_ us as still falling under their definition of 'human'? We could be their retarted, devolved far cousins no one wants to talk about at the family meetings, as far as ancient humans are concerned. Maybe they decide they do us a favour by putting us out of our misery. Or maybe they decide to still give us a chance, that we still have potential and can be brought back to former greatness... but that they by _far_ would not need all of us in order to reach this goal and that, in fact, contemporary humans would never stop being its own worst enemy with so many of us around and then decide to cull us? To try and apply our morals and ethics on ancient humans is simply presumptuous, arrogant and stupid. Just look at our real history, how morals and ethics and the definition of good and bad have changed dramatically, depending on time, place and culture. Damn, even within _one_ culture, those ideas differ wildly. Just go and ask a number of people about things like the death penalty, abortion, sacrificing a few for the benefit of the many. I mean, there are people, myself included, who strongly believe that _pacifism_ is one of the very _reasons_ for war and downright dangerous. Sic vis pacem, para bellum. Also, their history is _so_ different and that will have, must have an influence on their way to think and everything they do as well and they could _never_ be sure that we would end up the same, as the lost sons and daughters that simply join the family in peace. Imagine a wall of rock. Imagine one man standing on the top, yelling to the man on the ground to come up to him, the sight is amazing and beautiful, he _needs_ to see it, because the man on top has the honest wish to share his joy about the view. But as it turns out, the man on the ground takes a completely different route than the first man - and as a result, both man still standing on top, being in the same place, seeing the same view. But the second man takes, has to take a completely different route and thus, making completely different experiences. Maybe loose rocks, maybe even involuntarily set off by the first man, were slamming into its face. Maybe the man on top even throws down the end of a rope in order to give him help, to secure him and to pull him up - but the rope cuts into ground man's face, wraps around his neck or even forces him to go a path that is downright dangerous and the cause for much more pain that top man had to experience and endure. And maybe in the end ground man is standing on top, but he is _pissed,_ he is _angry,_ he is maybe even scared of the top man, because he feels he _wanted_ to lead him onto this dangerous path and to kick rocks into ground man's face, so all he sees is not the beautiful sigt, but just someone who is trying to hurt him and then decides to show his gratitude by helping top man down, fast. It's just a little push... So the ancients might decided that they rather set off an avalanche that burries us right from the start, just to make sure no one will push them off the cliff.
Dave Marx we men tend to have our greatest ideas when intoxicated the only reason we die while drunk is purely due to physical constraints otherwise wed be unstoppable. And wed pee everywhere
@@sorcererberoll4641 What if everyone in the game's universe is giving the precursors too much credit. What if they aren't making any decisions and the Forerunners are just making shit up?
I've been wanting to see ancient Humanit's technology show up in Halo. I never thought about ancient humans resurging in the Halo Universe. Wouldn't that be interesting.
So this is kinda tangential but I've been mulling this idea around in my head about ancient human super soldiers. We know (generally) that the average human solders were on par with Spartans. And particularly during the Seige of Charam Hakkor I can't imagine they were sitting on their hands waiting to die. And since the didacts strategy was to bypass "less important" settlements easily a secret research facility could have been passed over. So my sort of story idea is that a set of ancient human super solders were basically just about ready to be sent to break the seige but then learned about the fall and mass suicide and instead were put into stasis. Then woke up after the end of the covenant war and are trying to figure our what they should do.
@Zerebrat Eightyseven probably would be extremely disappointed as well that humanity was nearly bested by inferior species. Not to mention being confused as to why their primary enemy were the prophets. And probably also finding some irony that after 1000 years of war that humanity lost, the forerunners killed themselves and humanity lived on.
A Ancient human warriors would be way more stronger than several Best Spartans, it's simply not even a fair fight while you know those soldiers fought with warrior servants stronger than didact and even killed them and while the best Spartan was already screwed up by one old pathetic half dead Forruner, Those soldiers were more stronger and more than warrior servants that's why didact wanted their power composed in promethean but failed, only became a war machine rather than a warrior
Well, considering how terrible and atrocious the Forerunners were, while they were over-glorified, similar issues could be plaguing the Ancient Humans of the time period. They were over militarized, has child soldiers when defending Charum Hakkor, they only allied the ancient San’Shyuum because of their technology, and were described as very cruel to other species besides their allies. They were united, yes, but was it a dictatorship, was it some oligarchy of a few in power? Because the military heads seemed to be in charge of their vast empire as a whole. So much to discover
@@DaMasta981 The alliance with the San Shyuum was not only because of technology but also due to culture and a shared passion for knowledge and freedom outside of rigid strata of the forerunner structure. We have no evidence of dictatorship and the writings indicate a free society with a thriving economy unencumbered by rates. Don't believe the forerunner prpaganda
@@beezelsub The entirety of Bungie was torn up regarding the whole idea during the development of H3. So Bungie never confirmed this one outright. There is even a video which explores this by SameToken.
I immediately thought of the Asgard as well. We got really fucking lucky in that the Asgard were loyal and benevolent with modern humanity because of their alliance with the Ancients. We couldn't even understand the Asgard hyperdrive without them painstakingly explaining it to us. They were so more advanced than we were, they literally could no longer think like us. The Asgard were likely as old as the ancient humans so it's a good comparison. Remember the episode where O'Neill infiltrated that NID black ops group stealing tech? The Asgard just beamed their shit back without even coming down into that facility. The Goa'uld could annihilate us from orbit and they were no match for the Asgard (save for the return of Anubis, of course). The Asgard stopped a fucking star from exploding lol. So yeah. Hopefully if we do meet ancient humanity, they aren't assholes to us lol.
@@mosalah8551 that is not defeat, it was a win against a incredibly weakened forerunner with one billionth (or something more) of his true power, and it took every breath of Entire UNSC to barely "win".

According to current lore, yes. However, there may have been a small contingent that either went to a different part of the galaxy or went to another galaxy all together where they could rebuild. If they went to a different part of the Milky Way they would have had to have build facilities like Shield Worlds that could protect them from the Halos. In which case, there could be a massive ancient human population in a Dyson Sphere across the galaxy.
@@Sweetness71775 "...ancient human population in a Dyson Sphere across the galaxy." I dunno why, but i had to think about the vacuum cleaner company "Dyson" and immediately had the thought of that vacuum cleaner space station from Spaceballs in my head. You're making a seriously good point and all i can think of is this random BS, that just floats into my mind, what the heck is wrong with me. ...It's funny, though. Thinking about ancient humans, trapped in a giant space-station-ish vacuum cleaner.
6:49 this would be even more true for a remnant of Ancient Humanity that survived the Human-Forerunner War by fleeing the galaxy. The defeat of Charum Hakkor was in 106,445 BCE. Even assuming they needed a few millennia (more likely just centuries) to run to a satellite galaxy like the Small Magellanic Cloud or Sagittarius, that's still 107-ish millennia to rebuild and further advance their tech, which was just somewhat inferior to Forerunners in terms of sophistication. If such a Remnant exists, I would not be surprised if they were at Culture-levels of technology and resource control or higher, maybe Strike Legion levels (minus the space magic....probably, Neural Physics and the Domain do wierd stuff). Ancient Humanity were behind in tech to the Forerunners, but they did advance their tech faster. Also makes one think what those Ancient Humans would be doing all that time. My favorite idea is that they would go on to form an intergalactic coalition by converting species to the Mantle or just forming alliances, just like they did with the San Shyuum, for mutual benefit. They would try to use their power the best they can to prove their superiority to the Forerunners and enforce the image that they are the true holders of the Mantle. They would also most-likely go on an unending crusade to hunt down the Flood and whatever else might be as bad in the universe, and maybe try to wipe out any living Forerunners as well, because 10 million years of racial enmity and all (Humanity being chosen over the Forerunners for the Mantle and the Forerunners rebelling against the Precursors in 10 million BCE).
Isn't humanity tech better than forerunner. They reversed engineer the precursur tech wih the sansyum. That's why they able to hold out as long as they did fighting in two fronts.
@@gagongflip389 Well, their weapons incorporated Precursor tech into them, making them immune to any Forerunner defenses, but the Forerunners were more-advanced generally, with a far-greater manufacturing, resource, and Slipspace travel tech base. Still, even if Ancient Humanity was the equivalent of WW1 and the Forerunners were modern armies, the Forerunners wouldn't know how to counter the effectively SCP-analogue weapons Humanity had
Fasel sukoon That a Terrible comparison Human weapons and defenses were far stronger than the forerunners Human military dominated Forerunners were better in slipspace and mega structure building
@@cringekiller348 There is literally no source I know of stating anything close to the Ancient Humans having superior military technology or tactics to the Forerunners. The AH and San Shyuum had, that as the Didact said in the novels "developed offensive technologies (weapons) that my warrior-servants have no defenses against". If you have an actual canon source stating ancient Humanity's technological or military superiority to the Forerunners, show it. Another example of the books stating how Human technology and defenses were NOT superior to the Forerunners is in Cryptum where Bornstellar sees a vision of a battle in Charum Hakkor, where it showed human spacecraft thrashing around and destroying war sphinxes, and the war sphinxes doing the exact same to them. Another example is from Primordium, where Forthencho says to Chakas that in his final moments fighting the Forerunners, he saw his warriors being disintegrated by Forerunner weaponry. That same novel also states how Human technology was skyrocketed by the efforts of Yprin Yprikushma commanding the human science forces and AI to reverse engineer and scrutinize all the Forerunner technology that they could, with Forthencho musing that by her efforts, humanity bought itself at least a few more decades against the Forerunners. Even the Halo 4 terminals show how easily that the Forerunners could kill human troops, their armor providing little to no defense against the beam weapons that the Warrior servants used and them being slammed across walls by the force of the ones Prometheans used. Ancient Humanity had weapons that could make the Forerunners pay exponentially for every kill and victory they gain, but the Forerunners were better at pretty much everything else that mattered: Slipspace understanding, logistics, AI, industry, resources, numbers, general technology, everything.

I still like the reveal that the Forerunner were fighting Ancient Humanity's scouts and transports because ancient humanity was busy fighting the Flood with all of their bigger ships.
What if ancient humanity has been watching from within? Does anyone truly know Halsey's background? Her family line back to earth? What if she was sent to prepare modern humans for the fight against the old humans or to prepare us to join them.
Thanks. Another variable to keep me awake at night. Seriously though, before the Spartan II program I have no idea where she came from. that's only the sum total of FORERUNNER knowledge. Ancient Humans were somewhat behind the Forerunners, but any survivors would have had 107 millennia (fall of Charum Hakkor was at 106,445 BCE) to advance (and that's not including any tech they may have traded or taken from species unknown to the galaxy and any access to the Domain they might have) coupled with their understandable beef against Forerunners, would make them far more advanced than the Forerunners ever could have dreamed.

7 videos streak Where does the unsc ships keep the food and what is it? Are the ships self sufficient? How? Does infinity have massive food stores for the Spartans diet? AND what did the forerunners consume?
I'll take a stab at the first question: We know many of the outer colonies (Harvest, for exapmle) produced much of the food for the inner colonies. Fresh fruit and vegatables, grains, bread, corn, meat etc are still the staples of the human diet. Food storage and transportation would have had to advance significantly for this to be possible. Fruit and vegetables harvested in the outer colonies were kept fresh long enough to still be fresh when they were finally eaten on Earth, likely a matter of months later. Warships likely would preserve foods in the same manner cargo ships do. Further, UNSC ships are huge, they have immense internal storage capacity. Think of this: The US Navy Ford class carrier is the largest warship humanity has ever built to date. It is 337 metres long and has a mass of around 100,000 tons. UNSC frigates, their smallest front-line direct engagement vessels are 450 to 500 metres long and have a mass of nearly 1 million tons. They would have the capacity to store huge amount of food for long durations. UNSC ships do filter and recycle their water, but food is not produced on board. (The Orion Assault carrier and the Infinity might be exceptions, they have manufacturing and chemical processing capabilities.)
@@patton3rd1 The crew also spends much time in cryo sleep, plus you can feed your crew with MREs, which are pretty compact. You have even less of a supply issue.
I love the passion guys and appreciate the info but (im sure we can all agree) I want to see this broken down and put in a video. I think that would be awesome!
I would think that the ancient humans will still be pissed off at the post devolved humans but many more will feel pity for them for how far humanity had fallen
They will be pissed at the forerunners for what they did and remember if any ancient humans are still alive its most likely in a cryo chamber or their insanely advanced version of it and what will ONI do when they find these remaining ancient humans.
i don't know but with all that is going on in the halo universe and the struggles that modern humanity is facing i cant see how we would no see them as the Father we never had and them looking into us and seeing that despite of being striped of everything, devolved, victims of attempt of extermination against impossible enemies that we still fight and have hope like they did back when they faced the same impossible odds. That we are as much human by their standards as them, we simply are young and grew "without parents". I can't speak for everyone, but the idea that a group of humans, stronger, smarter and more wise existed and took care of us and guided into the right way to achieve their position would really fill me with hope and will to not only live but to make myself better and the world around me.
May I ask what Attack on Titan song is being used at around the 1:20 marker. It's so hard to find a specific OST for that anime, but really enjoy that one a lot.
Just imagine that at the end of the Halo Infinite trailer a Human voice says: *We. Are the true humans, you are just a mockery of ourselves.* (I would love to see them subduing the entire galaxy and becoming evil but seeing the H4 Terminals their Civilization was a Noble one. But who knows maybe they would look us with dredd and disgust for our past and for what we've become.) Love your theory videos btw!
I think that they would feel pity for us seeyung what torture and pain we went through by the forerunners and they would be proud we got rid of both the didact and the flood with far less technology, they would even learn from us and advance us in their technology to, it would be a golden age for humanity imo, they would look at the covenant and see that their former allies were still alive and educate them to, since they are so behind in mentality from their formerselfs
Imagine an Ancient Human supersoldier punching Chief to death. I think a normal ancient footsoldier rivals a Spartan II. Imagine an ancient supersoldier.
Chief is going to regret about his whole life after punching a guy who can literally obliterate the whole human kind with his bare hands, we saw what didact did to him, And Considering UNSC tech of augmentations, the ancient humans were million years advanced, so all I want to say it would even took the whole UNSC to stop just a ancient warrior human, Spartans are child infants compared to them
Would ancient humans be able to ‘re-evolve’ us? We would have the numbers they don’t. Surely they could guide the DNA of our offspring back towards their original state?
I have a feeling that if there are ancient humans out there, they were observing us and our fight with the covenant then the created. With these powerful forerunner constructs about, it is not only a threat to us, their genetic cousins, but also to them, so they may be key in the fight back.
I kind of agree but in an attempt to tie together the lore of all major sci-fi and fantasy genres, I’m getting stuck on the allusions to secret bases on the Moon and Phobos. That doesn’t seem a very Covenant thing to do, nor Flood. It actually seems more consistent with something like the Combine from HL or the Strogg from Quake. Are there factions beyond Ancient Humans, Forerunners, Precursors, Primordials, the Flood and the Covenant? Is it one giant mess? Right now are we being observed by Ancient Humans, Covenant, *and* something like the Combine?
You know, I have been thinking about it, and maybe ONI is the new enemy. They have been a kind of low-key baddy for a long time, and it may be possible that the current Cortana is just Halsey's next idea. Just a thought.
If I remember correctly, the didactic modified the genetics in humans in order to prevent them for becoming a future threat for them.... However, he didn’t expect the librarian’s intervention. The geas she imprinted in Master Chief’s genome hasn’t been fully revealed yet and I’m curious to see the hidden abilities John will discover next...
I'd love to see a follow-up video or something to hear if your thoughts on this theory have changed considering the new information regarding Infinite's story and setting that's been revealed since posting this video in 2019
If they came to us they would be like the father of our species!!! Does anyone ever seen that a Noble father is about to kill his worthy CHILD without A DAMN CAUSE!!! they would simply nurture us and made us more advance like they are
Finally this has been one of my long time asked question since cortana has constant hinted to human conflict it self which we all know that halo has a clever way to hint future events also it might be a mixture of all the factions in the following games
That comparison between Humans and Chimpanzees really put into perspective how different the Ancient Humans would probably see us "Modern Humans". I almost couldn't see how they'd view us differently when we're the same. Then again, one look at our current world should be enough to understand why....
“The flood will return when they are ripe, and bring them unity” this can be perceived serval different ways, but in this context. It definitely solidifies the point you are making. See chapter 41 of Halo Primordium for the quote. And Halo Silentium, for the Primordials Malediction to the Ur-Didact.
The most realistic scenario would most likely go like this: Forthencho isn’t disgusted by us as he is well aware of what the forerunners did. They would most likely assume the hierarch considering their superior knowledge and physic. But they wouldn’t harm us in any way as we ARE humans and even the AH had unity
The reason I think where so confident is simply that is that where designed for sheer endurance to give our brains time to figure out the needed solutions to such a degree that we simply outmatch pretty much every other animal on the planet out of sheer stubbornness and the ability to plan and coordinate in such a nuanced abstract way... it's pretty justified, if a human truly wants you dead above all else they will succeed or die trying, unfortunately ancient humanity would not only have the same advantages but would outclass us in those regards as well. Seems like an unwinnable fight unless there overconfidence leaves big enough gaps for us to exploit and they can't simply crush us before we implement those exploits properly.
Personally I see Ancient Humanity if ever to return would simply help and guide us and wish us to take back the galaxy and rule over it. They would be like Gods to us.
If they are out there I imagine they have been in some type of stasis and of limited number for them to have not returned ever. I also imagine they would not be too dissimilar from what we have seen technologically and power wise of the Forerunners/Promethians. What I am tying to say is if they come back they won't be an impossible threat, the developers would power scale them down to make them difficult but not impossible enemies. They might be more powerful then Humans/Spartans but so are Brutes, Hunters and Promethian Knights, they might be smarter but one could argue that Cortana is smart as well, yet we've beat them all as it is a game. You never know they could come back and just re-evolve humanity to their level of evolution, or one could be captured and experimented on by ONI to get ideas for Spartan V's.
They are will be the most dominant species in the universe if they came back, We are apes compared to them, it's them who will capture and interrogate us so that we could become more advanced

I guess it possible some of ancient humanity survived but I find it really unlikely because not only would they have had to escape the war with the forerunners but they also would have somehow needed to survive the almost complete take over of the galaxy by the flood and the firing of the halo array.
Ok 1: I need to read all the halo books, comics novels everything 2: I have been waiting for a video like this from all the halo UA-camrs..THANK YOUUUU!! I would love to know more about ancient humanity 3: I have never considered that ancient humanity would have survived and then 100,000 years of evolution could have given them more than 1% DNA difference probably 3%-5% by now. But if ancient humanity still exists like the forerunners and if they escaped the galaxy it would be interesting theme 4: What if the forerunners and ancient humanity actually exited the galaxy and entered another one, encountered each other after their numbers, military and power were sufficient enough to re-start the human forerunner war?
Well now that you'd mentioned it what would happen if we pit two of the most advanced human civilisation in fiction together, The Golden Age Humanity from 40k and Ancient Humanity from Halo, just imagine the shear total galactic chaos that would ensued
We need an ancient human trilogy written by Greg Bear. It should touch on humanity finding the precursor/flood powder, the infection of the Pheru, the Human-Flood war, then finish with the Human-Forerunner war and humanity’s downfall.
I never really considered ancient humanity to be a potential enemy in Halo. Although, it does make sense that there could be holdouts from the Halo Array, or possibly ships out in deep space where crews are in cryo, or something else entirely. This would be a cool thing to look into.
Aren’t ancient humans on average like 10ft+ tall? I mean the ruined buildings in Babysitter were massive....Also I think Spartan II’s are at the level of the average ancient human soldier....also it’s a misnomer that chimps are only 1% different from us
You know you have a way with words my guy, well done, i hope they expand on the lore with ancient humans, ya they messed up with zeta halo in infinite, however those were bronze age humans, i want to know about the advanced humans of forthenco's kind
Imagine if the ship in Stargate Universe was travelling toward to the surviving ancient humans... Then they rebooted Stargate in collaboration with Halo!
An awesome halo idea would be to see a bizarre slip-space event (it can be explained later, with it having to do with the promethean/precursor/human shenanigans that are going on, or whatever, that inadvertently cause this, which causes Master Chief to travel back in time to witness a world dominated by Ancient Humans, and attempts in vain to warn them, while also having to adapt to a new environment, where even the average soldier is superior to his own abilities. Unsuccessful in his attempts to change the past, as well as realizing that changing it would cause him, and everyone who ever existed within the last 100,000 years to cease to exist, he is somehow sent back to the present day, but Ancient Humans are able to follow. These Ancient Humans would know of Humanity's de-evolvement, due to seeing Master Chief's primitive body, and because he would explain what has happened. This one Ancient Human ship launches an attack on the Prometheans, slaughtering their forces, which leads them to form a secret pact with the shadow government ONI, as both share the same goal in common: systemic, genocidal destruction of inferior species to further advance humanity. As the small group of a couple of thousand or so Ancient Humans ally with ONI, humanity's technological advancement goes extremely far, but this isn't without humanity itself being corrupted by a malevolent, xenophobic society, which ONI extending a fierce, totalitarian grip. This would make our main enemies our own species, ONI, and Ancient Humanity, and our allies being an alliance with the Swords of Sangheilios, human dissidents, and the other Covenant species to come together to fight for the survival of the galaxy. Another thing I'd like to point out is that the Ancient Humans would be forced to cooperate with the Modern Humans, as even though the Homo Saipens of 2558 are remarkably primitive, even to the former Homo Saipens that once walked the planet back during the time of Ancient Humanity, Modern Humans are the only ones who have the geas that allows them to not only operate, but instinctively know how to operate extremely difficult to understand Forerunner technology, that is scattered everywhere throughout the galaxy.

I don't know, the way Forthencho interacted with Chakas, it was more like he lamented humanity's fall and resented the fact that their culture, achievements, and history were effectively erased. He wanted to bring them back to where they were before their defeat at the hand of the Forerunners, which was why he allied with the Flood. He looked at Post defeat humanity like humans who just discovered fire, but 26th century humanity he might have looked at like young adults who need some wising up after all post Covenant war modern humans are enhancing their soldiers. developing energy weaponry and shielding, perfecting Artificial intelligence, and slipstream travel. Ancient humanity may try to uplift humanity back to their former glory.
Great points. However ancient Humanity should be aware of the tenets of the Mantle of responsibility which compels them not to destroy us but assist us. At the very least we'd make great pets, humans love pets.
I'd like to say that this is completely philosophical, we won't know what the Ancient Humans reactions will be, they may see us as a younger sibling who needs guidance, or a child who needs their care. For we still are the same species, and the intelligence is only a part that can be fixed through rare humans that were genius's like Turing, Einstein etc. Spartan's themselves are next step evolution of human kind, and we may see that the Ancient Humans would simply mold us into the evolutionary form that they have attained, just as we are evolving ourselves inadvertently through the Spartan program
To see what it looked old like when the best of modern man comes up against greater humans would be like Chief fighting didact. Recall out he bested chief (best of the best,) with relative ease. His weapons and strength were vastly superior. And that's is the best current humans can offer which is a small number.. it wouldn't even be a fight. When humans faced the covenant fights where lost 7 to 1 at times and the covenant didn't understand tech on the level of the forerunners.
@Installation00 I do have to point out one thing. Ancient Humanity was not an equal to the Forerunner. The opening move of the war was when the Forerunners turned off Humanity's access to Slipspace. Ancient Humanity was powerful and a threat to the Forerunner certainly, but not their equals.
If ancient humanity was able to control that much space without any going super bad for a million years then I honestly doubt with the petty arguments people having not even in 1 million years we would be able to reach their level
Hey Installation00 I was thinking, what if instead of the humans being devolved after the Human Forerunner war and the current halo timeline we have. What if they were allowed to stay the way they were before and after the firing of the halo Array and what if the Covenant had encountered them? Just a curious thought I had running through my head.
I have a question/ video idea! What is the lore on evolution in the halo universe? Since ancient humanity kind of just planted us on earth so that humanity would live on, we couldn’t have evolved from other creatures over time as we believe today. And since evolution is so well proven, does that mean our universe is incompatible with the halo universe?
@Zohan Bozz Real world human evolution went out the window with the Forerunner Saga. Now we have things like devolution (reversing a species evolution back to less intelligent and primitive forms) and evolution having an apparent endpoint in Halo. Neither of these are a thing in real life.
Brian Beatty, yeah that’s true. Kinda sucks. It’s like the developers didn’t know what evolution was and just threw in some mumbo jumbo. Honestly, the more I hear about ancient humanity and stuff, the less interested I become in the lore.
@@dinofrog926 I wasn't a fan of AH when I first read Cryptum but I ended up loving it. As for evolution, your just gonna have to ignore it in regards to real life or assume it's handwaved away with Precursor space magic.
Brian Beatty haha precursor space magic has a nice ring to it. I'll accept that as an explanation. I guess I'll give ancient humanity another shot then. Yesterday I was ready to go full old school mode and only accept Bungie's lore as cannon. Turns out what is bungie's lore and what is 343's lore isn't as clear cut as I wanted it to be. Anyways, 343 will do. I'll just fill in the holes with precursor space magic :)
@@dinofrog926 343i has taken alot of effort to expand on lore Bungie created or fill in gaps/details that Bungie never had the chance to or never intended to fill in. For the most part I think 343i have done a great job on that. As for AH, ultimately whatever you feel about it is up to you. If you end up liking it then great. If you don't that's fine too.
Did you think the old human has created a shield word or contingency plan to escape war ? So can small ship escape and crate a colony outside the halo ring max range
The forerunner pushed their shit in. Fast forward 100k years. The Didact shows up to Earth, gets a huge hole blasted in his 150km megaship, gets his ass handed to him by an AI that made him blush, then got nuked to pieces. Ancient humanity will review the footage and promptly surrender.
Anyone else think the notion of “The Mantle” is in itself troublesome? What about humanity’s history suggests we would in any way be capable caretakers of life across the galaxy? We’re choking the life out of the one planet we already have. No reason to believe we wouldn’t repeat those mistakes anywhere we go. Just has a “manifest destiny” twinge to it which doesn’t sit right.

A trilogy of games from the perspective of an Ancient Human!
Fact! Those face marking are highly tribal!
Are you talking about in the Halo universe?

Ancient human society

Where does the unsc ships keep the food and what is it?
Also the pillar of Autumn has a list of items in the mess hall.
Great content as always. May I ask you the tracks playing in the background?

Imagine Chief punch an ancient human to death like he did with one of the prophet. That would be fun.
Imagine an Ancient Human supersoldier punching Chief to death.
I think a normal ancient footsoldier rivals a Spartan II. Imagine an ancient supersoldier.
Chief is going to regret about his whole life after punching a guy who can literally obliterate the whole human kind with his bare hands, we saw what didact did to him, And Considering UNSC tech of augmentations, the ancient humans were million years advanced, so all I want to say it would even took the whole UNSC to stop just a ancient warrior human, Spartans are child infants compared to them
Is there really only one concept image of precursors
;(
In lore they are transendient species, so they wouldn't have physical body until they desided to have one.
Never thought of that wow I'm with u. Would love to see that encounter. Great work as always u rock

In my opinion they couldn’t be any more alien or threatening than the forerunners great video tho!
Threatening than forerunners
You didn't even saw what the humans were fighting and what they were capable of
I'd love to see a follow-up video or something to hear if your thoughts on this theory have changed considering the new information regarding Infinite's story and setting that's been revealed since posting this video in 2019
If they came to us they would be like the father of our species!!! Does anyone ever seen that a Noble father is about to kill his worthy CHILD without A DAMN CAUSE!!! they would simply nurture us and made us more advance like they are
How would you feel about a new Saga of games that have u play as the forerunners and/or ancient humanity?
If I were Ancient human I would become strong as the god emperor
@@ur-didact1991 lol doubt even the big E could deal with the Forerunners
@@kaelinbruningful I see, you are a man of logic
Finally this has been one of my long time asked question since cortana has constant hinted to human conflict it self which we all know that halo has a clever way to hint future events also it might be a mixture of all the factions in the following games
That comparison between Humans and Chimpanzees really put into perspective how different the Ancient Humans would probably see us "Modern Humans". I almost couldn't see how they'd view us differently when we're the same. Then again, one look at our current world should be enough to understand why....
So in conclusion: Humanity still fights Humanity. Love your video though
I’d love to see the ancient human in your thumbnail, lord of admirals, in halo 6. How awesome if he lived somehow
It surely won't be like the thumbnail cause the ancient humans were far bigger than Spartans, almost double their size
Or they would see us as filthy recreation of themselves made by the Forerunners.
elektron117 But the Forerunners didn’t make us. The Precursors did
If they are out there I imagine they have been in some type of stasis and of limited number for them to have not returned ever.
They are will be the most dominant species in the universe if they came back,
We are apes compared to them, it's them who will capture and interrogate us so that we could become more advanced
1 enraged ancient human warrior= The whole blue team, red team, fire team, All Spartans, UNSC INFINITY, Spirit of Fire, The whole UNSC,
Me: We saw a old pathetic half dead Forruner warrior servant kicking the whole ass of humanity,
And a ancient human warrior??? God help us all....
I guess it possible some of ancient humanity survived but I find it really unlikely because not only would they have had to escape the war with the forerunners but they also would have somehow needed to survive the almost complete take over of the galaxy by the flood and the firing of the halo array.
Ok
1: I need to read all the halo books, comics novels everything
2: I have been waiting for a video like this from all the halo UA-camrs..THANK YOUUUU!! I would love to know more about ancient humanity
3: I have never considered that ancient humanity would have survived and then 100,000 years of evolution could have given them more than 1% DNA difference probably 3%-5% by now. But if ancient humanity still exists like the forerunners and if they escaped the galaxy it would be interesting theme
4: What if the forerunners and ancient humanity actually exited the galaxy and entered another one, encountered each other after their numbers, military and power were sufficient enough to re-start the human forerunner war?
Ancient humanity would actually be a million years more advanced than current humans, like you said they had interstellar travel back then.
Well now that you'd mentioned it what would happen if we pit two of the most advanced human civilisation in fiction together, The Golden Age Humanity from 40k and Ancient Humanity from Halo, just imagine the shear total galactic chaos that would ensued
What if the imperium of man was history of ancient humans and the emperor was a ancient human
Excellent analysis.
Aren’t ancient humans on average like 10ft+ tall? I mean the ruined buildings in Babysitter were massive....Also I think Spartan II’s are at the level of the average ancient human soldier....also it’s a misnomer that chimps are only 1% different from us
I never thought about that possibility
An Insurrectionist focused game would be absolutely SIIIIIIICK
"The true Humans have returned and we will retake this galaxy which is rightfully ours and we will not allow imposters who were fabricated by our arch adversaries usurp our throne for we are the true kings and queens of the galaxy! And you imposters will be exterminated from the very stars!"

The "same species" is actually pretty complicated, it's actually a pretty open question in the human population IRL...
You do that human have been around just as long as everything else right?
Do you have a video on why the flood isnt (or atleast apart of) the precursor test?
I wish the Haloverse produced more lore about ancient humans. It is really an interesting situation.
As long as there are alien threats out there, humanity still has a chance to remain united under a single banner.
Our weakest links crack first
The philosophy of ancient humans would make them incorporate us into their empire as a primitive new addition like colonies in the old era's
Well we all know now it's the banished
To see what it looked old like when the best of modern man comes up against greater humans would be like Chief fighting didact. Recall out he bested chief (best of the best,) with relative ease. His weapons and strength were vastly superior.
And that's is the best current humans can offer which is a small number.. it wouldn't even be a fight.
When humans faced the covenant fights where lost 7 to 1 at times and the covenant didn't understand tech on the level of the forerunners.
It would be fun to see ancient human and modern humans meeting up.
It would be embarrassing if we send a 5-6 ft tall naval intelligence officer to talk with a 12-13 ft tall ancient humans
I’d love to see ancient Humans come back
I have a question/ video idea!
This was a great video keep it up
Are they technically the same species since modern humanity in halo was evolved after a forced devolution from ancient humanity?
Just million years advanced than ours
It seems no one ever talks about the Forerunner builder that came out of Stasis in Halo 5
Dear Mr Installation 00 guy... please do a theory and lore video about the San Shyuum(spelling) Prelates!! I'd love to see the return of the prophets. Prelates should be a boss fight in Halo Infinite haha
But are they still humans after all the planned evolution by the Forerunners?
