The Lukari continue to explore and Starfleet is there to assist. The Federation-Klingon alliance is supporting the species as they delve into unexplored space.
But soon we have a Tzenkethi problem, but we also discover the fate of the Kentari, the Lukari ancestors.

“What do you mean Why did I bring explosives to a diplomatic meeting? Are you new here?”
"Fortunately, the evidence we need soon attacks us." :D
I was like "oh timely parallels" and then Rick says 'this was made five years ago' aaaaand suddenly everything became so surreal.
Hits a little close to home... We can be so much better. Hope we make it there before we end up like that.
@@johnlewis8156 When the Kentari representatives look like Trump and Hillary Clinton, it was pretty obvious when this mission was made.
I agree. It is amazing how sometimes these story arcs hit so close to home and the events that have taken place over the last two years. You would be very surprised to find out they were written currently. But almost 5 years ago..
The Lukari now had a taste of every Starfleet Captain out there. Try to be friendly. Only to get shot at. And you wonder why most Starfleet Captains are so salty. And carry body armor and big phasers.
And Photon Grenades, Phaser Turrets, Quantum Mortars, and a comlink to their ship to call in Orbital Strikes.
That vending machine appears to sell T-51b Power Armor helmets!
The best in the Waste....uh... Cityland?
This is another mission where I would _love_ to see Starfleet HQ's reaction to Hale's report.
Hale: "When we arrived, they didn't respond to our hails, but sent several armed ships to intercept us."
SFHQ: "Yeah, I dunno why they would be at all nervous about an alien battleship from the other side of the galaxy taking up position over their capital city."
Hale: "A mystery indeed. Kumaarke tried hailing them too, but they powered up weapons in response."
SFHQ: "What did she say to rile them up that much? Eh, never mind, probably some alien in-joke. So you left then, right? Seems like a pretty clear 'get off my lawn' response."
Hale: "Nah, we disabled their fleet with a barrage of photon torpedoes. They folded like a wet dish towel."
SFHQ: [stare]
Hale: "Their Prime Minister answered our hails then, and asked us to meet her planet-side."
SFHQ: "I'm sure that went well."
Hale: "Oh, fine. Yeah, she gave us bad coordinates that led us through the bad part of town, and we left a dozen or so locals unconscious in the smog-filled gutter - oh, and we had to blast through a few walls with satchel charges to get to the PM's office - but we got there just fine. The PM was all right, but the defense minister was suspicious of us for some reason."
SFHQ: "I can't imagine why."
Hale: "Internal politics of a civilization we'd only just contacted for the first time ever, I guess."
SFHQ: "So you gave them our contact info, thanked them for meeting you, and left without incident, right?"
Hale: "Hahaha, no. We set off a Genesis Device on their farming moon and flattened their home defense fleet on our way out of the system instead."
SFHQ: [Stewie Griffin head-tilt stare]
Hale: "It's okay, the moon had already been sterilized by the Tzenkethi. We stopped to attack their battleship instead of going after the bomb; it seemed like a good idea at the time. After they left - oh yeah, their battleship got away; sorry about that, chief - we went down to restore the moon's biosphere with protomatter. We got jumped by a squad of conservatives, but we stunned them and beamed back up right before everything on the surface was recycled - crops, remains, whatever, really - and it all became fresh new crops with the push of a button. We're the heroes!"
SFHQ: "..."
I'm surprised that the Ferengi haven't tried to get in on that money hustle from the Kentari.
They would, but the Kentari are highly xenophobic at this time. You could offer them UFP environmental tech and they'd turn it down out of pride and fear, even though it would save everyone's health and lives.
This mission has two major refreshing features that are not very common in most of other story episode.
1.) A ground mission in an urbanized environment rather than a ship/station, ruin, and/or wilderness.
2.) An enemy faction of with significantly inferior tech.
They have improved in recent years though and I enjoy the variation.
A good chunk of the Disco Klingon ones have them with inferior tech
Urban warfare. Everyone hated that.
The writers for this mission sure didn't hold back on the 'cautionary tale' stick for this one.
Definitely. The whole time I was like "Yep. They're definitely trying to tell us something. Mhm."
18:17 Well remember what happened with the Cardassians and the Bajorans. There have been plenty of conquerers who started with the words 'We're here to help.'
Good point actually.
I love watching this series. It's almost like its own real trek show, don't get me wrong i love Discovery, Picard and Lower Decks, but there is something to be said for TraditionalTrek as well and your narration really makes it enjoyable to watch (if it was just straight game play i can't imagine it would be remotely as entertaining), i don't have the time to play the game so getting to watch the story as a TV show is awesome. Hope you keep it going.
Great video!
3:45 Don't let anyone tell you otherwise-- that was a _great_ greeting!
So where's the advertisement with the "I'd buy that for a dollar." Reference.
Time to mix drinks and change lives on Kentari prime
oooof the Helghast from The Killzone series had better air on their home Helghan 😅 than the Kentari.
You beamed down to Night city XD
Only without the bugs and glitches. More or less.
Day 2 of wondering if a Captain Mark Hale Personal File is a good video idea.
Im sure he will do it once he completely finishes uploading the story series.
@@knightspearhead5718 I will keep asking until I get my 15 minutes of UA-cam fame! :)
I love listening to all of the stories and information about the histories of the ships, bestiary, people and the star trek world. Thank you rick and co. For making my drive to and from work every day and enjoyable one.
So one of the writers/ visual designers likes Blade Runner? Thats the impression I’m getting here.
I would be very surprised if _only_ one of them likes Blade Runner ;-)
@@patrikhjorth3291 Just take the thumbs up for your comment and we’ll call this even.
There are worse influences to have.
"We did not want to start a fight" Says the first one to open fire. 4:40
1:40 ; Yeah in the galaxy map the First Federation is just ... there. Would like if there is eventually a mission in their space.
Also, I just enjoy Kuumaarke's inquisitive character, as well as her being at this point in time basically being Hale's protege.
I stop everything to watch this. Now I need to go to the toilet ;)

*Quick Disclaimer; this came out 5 years ago.*
Seriously, it's kind of depressing how much those news reports line up with current far-right news in the US.
@@japzone Forgot about politics, this is a Star Trek video. Just watch the thing and have fun.
That mask picture reminds me of the Helghast face masks. They could learn a lot from them about that 😂😬.
I hope STO keeps up the writing. Like it has for many of these Event and Story Arcs.. They may hit to close to home at times. But sometimes to solve a problem or even to understand the many sides to a problem. You need a fresh pov and STO can provide many a fresh prospective to a problem. Thank God for science fiction. Be safe and Be well and remember. Someone could be looking at their night sky and wondering are they alone in the universe. Do other out their have the same problems they may have. Ifn't how did they solve them or did they ?
Prime Minister Tuulemaan. The voice actor. I know her but can't place her and it's killing me 😤
This should be on Paramount Plus.
Really enjoying this storyline as it's more about culture and exploration than simply blasting enemies. Thanks for what you do :)
And in this episode, Hale visits Space-Jersey!
Captain Hale Special Diplomatic Supply Request: Spacial Charge x1
Starfleet HQ: O_o????
"From Earth with love."
Oh! That's the deplomacy SEMTEK.
28:16 Literally throughout all of the ship battles in this story arc so far I've just been thinking, this Odyssey class ship can take on Iconian Vomph battleships, your chances of beating it are less than for a snowball in a steel-making furnace.
Imagine if in a Star Trek series your character Mark Hale was referenced or appeared in said series.
I cant believe this was made 5 years ago
whattttttttttttttt.......?
The capital building looks like an alternate universe Wayne tower.
An epsiode once a week is not enough! But i yield. Do your thing Rick. It has served you well.
Fun fact during the ground section on new Kentar if your ground team has an environmental suits the visuals will be locked to on during that section
I replayed this mission yesterday in anticipation of this episode, and... I dunno, parts of it did seem kind of recognisable from some other context. Can't quite put my finger on why.
The Prime Minister is wearing a purple version of the outfit D'Tan wears. Can't say I'm surprised there are reused assets. This is Star Trek after all. HOW many episodes reused props, sets and costumes from other episodes?
The story seem more like Stellaris' "Lost Colony" origin.
I was being ironic, you know.
Why would somebody downvote THIS? It's as inoffensive as it gets.
Probably Trumpists it hit a litttttle too close to home for.
@@michaelgreenwood3413 Trump supporters are the ones advocating for nuclear energy. I hope in the two years that have passed, you've learned to stop projecting.
Ah, the Kentari ships suffer from the props department mindset of recycling. They look Kazon-like.
Addendum: This new Kentar world looks like Mirror Bajor.
6:45 When was the Star Wars planet of Nar Shaddaa brought into this?
This is very awesome and gives more exploration too very cool city to visit if it was much cleaner if course hehe.
this one was amazing, and the outcome even better. thanks for posting!
Hey, Certifiably Ingame, could you do a video on the First Federation?
Now I am wondering if Mark Hale will have to deal with a certain discordian entity and his games.
On a seasonal basis, and also currently. 11th anniversary and all that.
Yep, definitely no real-world parallels here at all. And the leaders of the two Kentari factions definitely weren't modeled on the candidates in a major election that was happening around the time this mission was created five years ago. Yep yep, move along, nothing to see here. :)
Schmillary Schminton and Schmonald Schmump... Oh I mean Prime Minister Tuulemaan and Minster of Defense Pentaaro.
Neat Video Rick, I hope to see more soon!

I honestly wonder what the Traditionalists would have to say about the Reformists.
Can't wait for Brushfire I love that mission
I was wearing space suits for this. lol
Will you be including the cutscenes for reputations at some point?
"In all fairness, this was released 5 years ago."
And the reaction to Covid is the same as the Spanish Flu epidemic 100 years ago, Time is a flat circle.

Can we say "Genesis Device"?
Hey rick which ship would you recommend with the T5 giveaway. also I did always like this mission, provides a lot of backstory to the Lukari
Vesta is nice, I've got Vesta since universal console set bonus with T6, and Aux DHC. Also, I've been lots of Caitian catbuses near ESD recently.
It depends upon which ships you already have. Some ships are going to be better than others due to the nature of the console or your own ship collection. Say you have the Hestia-Class (i.e. the t6 prometus-class). The t5 multi-vector ship have the seperation console which can be used on the t6. I usually go for ships that aren't part of any packs due to not wanting to break up them. I personally got the Vulcan D'Kyr because its a 2-in-1 deal since you get the D'kyr and the Tal'kyr shuttle
look I'm not saying what you should and shouldn't do. Just saying your phasers have a planetary stun setting and theese people want to attack the ship so advance it can create and destroy worlds like Q.
aweyea startrek time
Wrinkled nutsa... hello LMAO
love it! this aliens are not that bright....
Th first federation, they made a book that had the first federation in it. One of Kirk's story's, very good book and gives us more information about them
Make Kentar great again!
There's enough ham fisting in this story to fill a thousand ham sandwiches.
In this instance, that is an insult to the cleverness and subtlety of ham-fists, by comparrison. :-)
The rich are doing really well, while 200 million have been thrown into poverty. I has nothing to comment on in Star Trek Online Story today.
/sigh! Not to drag real world politics, or in this case economics into a wonderfully humorous Star Trek game channel. But your proclamation is completely wrong by every measurable standard. We are currently witnessing the greatest global rise from poverty that the world and humanity has ever seen. And this has been fairly steady in aggregate since WW2. “The rich” have nothing to do with it. Wealth is not a zero sum game. Even the most deeply and traditionally impoverished lands are steadily moving past the daily grind of subsistence, and are moving to greater food security. More widespread availability of power, water, medical care and education. True poverty is decreasing, and decreasing at the fastest rate in human history. But many refuse to recognize that because they feel poverty and inequality of outcome are the same thing.
Sadly it looks like 21st century humans are still on course to wind up like the Kentari.
Monetised face masks? What a crazy planet!
14:30 yhea, this sounds familiar
19:16 Normally this could be brushed off as clinical paranoia. Sadly a false flag operation to earn trust isn't impossible. If rather overly elaborate.
i now have Oddessy to yay thanks sto
I see the kentari still believe in trickle down economics
I have the lower level corausant vibes from this.
How did they manage to follow you in slipstream, or did you tow them the whole way?
So, Rick, what free T5 ship did you choose from this anniversary giveaway? I think T5 Vesta is great, since you can equip all 3 front weapons as aux phaser dual heavy cannons and the universal console from the T5 will give you nice set bonus for the T6 one.
T5 Operations Oddy has the Chevron Separation Console, which works on all the Odyssey Variants.
But but but...? Whats the significance of those crystals?
Are those Kyber crystals?
well shit indeed
Looks like planet China.
Even Kuumaarke can get angry.
So you are touring current Earth our time then? I thought this was the future?!
what is the reward for exploreing every ich
It's been a while since I played this, but...if you kept the rebreather masks from one of the very early missions (or were those one of the few free items in the replicator list, along with the frequency-cycling modules for weapons?) and equip them to the team, don't they prevent issues with the toxic air? (someone else mentioned using the environmental suits, but I never tried that)
If you have an ev suit it will override and put it on.
Comments for the comment gods
This planet had such a cyberpunk feel; I loved it.

LIZARD? Who you calling Lizard you damn dirty ape? Reptile yes. Lizard no. they are in fact TURTLES..... but not of the Ninja kind.
Pentaaro’s threats are empty threats. Their ships and tech are so out dated compared to federation technology. A full federation fleet would destroy their fleet would ease.
ONE Federation ship basically handed them their asses. Three to five could probably drop their entire navy.

12:21 Nuclear power isn't that bad. Just hurry bloody up and invent the breeder reactor and save humanity already!
I'm surprised a bunch of Conservatives didn't try and get this content removed from the game on the basis of it being 'biased' and 'woke'.
Yeah, I don't mind messaging in a story, but this is so over the top. This is the sort of ham fisted social commentary that comes out of writers whose focus is virtue signaling to people who already agree with them, and not making a convincing argument. Having your baddies act without a convincing motivation beyond EVIL! shows you just don't care enough about the topic to dissect the opposing point of view in a meaningful way.
Half way through I started thinking the Prime minister was going to turnout to be the villain, I didn't think they'd be so obvious and heavy handed as to just go "non-leftists = evil"
Have you watched Star Trek? They've always been ham fisted. For Gods sake they had an entire species that hated each other because their skin colors were swapped. And have you seen Omega Glory? It's literally the most ham-fisted anything in Sci Fi in my opinion.
@@nathanielheilmann7351 yes they have that, but then you also have things with nuance like the Cardassians
There've always been Omega Glories or Force of Natures, but usually (pre-CBS) they were the exception, not the rule. I prefer Star Trek that tries to win over or lead by example, not this kind- the kind that says "Just to remind you, all those not-us groups suck, hate them, revile them, fight them. I mean, that doesn't propose a solution and that kind of fighting hasn't solved anything so far, and won't as long as you share a country and voting rights with them, but definitely don't try to win them over or work with them, just focus on how DEPLORABLE they are and how they want to destroy our country/world! (While at the same time, claiming that hate and fear are what motivates *them.*)"
So, the Kentari trashed one planetary system, drove away fellow citizens of that planet (Lukari), had to abandon their original planetary system for another one, which they're also trashing by the way, but that's too over-the-top for you? And doesn't cater to "whataboutism" enough?
Yes, because you'd be delighted to play through a nuanced discussion of the positives of capitalism vs. the evils of caring for people and a planetary ecosystem, I suppose. *eye roll*
I didn't like this story to much. I think it was very predictable for this situation to have happened but I would have expected something more of the lines of both the traditionalists and the reformists to have worked together to sabotage their moon.
Disappointing. An STO storyline with the sledgehammer-to-the-face level of subtlety and comedic-if-it-wasn't-clear-the-writers-actual-elieved-it-serious levels of exaggeration I would normally expect from Discovery. I expect better of STO than this.
At least Captain Mark Hale's antics keep it watchable! :-)

Progressivism vs Conservatism
STO's writers are not subtle.
Yeah, even by some of the more hamfisted storylines of the actual Star Trek shows, this was a _bit_ much for my taste.
It's just as subtle as TOS' "Let This Be Your Last Battlefield". But then again sometime the people who most need it require a beating with a very blunt clue-by-four to the get message.
