About the Iconians becomming to peacefull to defend themself: I think that is inevitable for a Precursor. My theory is that there are two options: - you become peacefull and reach the hight of technology and development possible by your laws of physics - you stay warriorlike and wipe yourself out long before you get close to that
As the first species (that they knew of) to gain sentience and become an advanced society, they would not have recognized the need for defense. They did not evolve in competition with other sentient predators to teach them that need. By the time other species became capable of star flight and interstellar warfare, their technology made them almost unassailable. And I agree with your two options, with one slight modification: a peaceful species that evolves to such heights can only do so in the lack of competition. Anybody trying to do that in the 25th Century is going to need a REALLY big stick and the willingness to use it to survive, so it's not likely to happen again.

I forget what it was called, but the one where Wesley crusher was nearly executed for running into the garden. it seems to be a common theme for former humanoid races to become godlike. Not all of those races that I mentioned were confirmed to have been humanoid in the past but several were and the others most likely were.

The Iconians and how they view other species less than them is because the Iconians are a great example of a species on the Kardashev scale of level 3 almost a level 4. They have learned to bend the very fabric of the universe to themselves distance has no meaning can harness energy on galactic scales have reached such a level of technology/scientific/medical knowledge they are essentially on gods level. The other races in Trek like humans are level 2 species on the scale. When the bridge is so vast between the two scales it is not a surprise the Iconians would have such an arrogant inflated ego looking down on others like children it's to be expected. Look at what they have achieved. The Iconians by the scale are gods.
Most civilizations in Trek are at most Type 1 on the Kardashev Scale. The Solenae are Type 2, having built the Dyson Spheres, and the Iconians are the Type 3 if not Type 4, since they harness the Omega Molecule, which is believed to have caused the Big Bang.
The problem is ST doesn't follow your usual Kardashev rules. Mainly because Replicators break traditional methods. All you need is one solar panel (or whatever ST uses in the future) and a replicator that copies itself (& the panel) every few days, and in a few years you've got dyson sphere. Or maybe in a few decades/centuries, a galaxy-spanning dyson construct. And technically reaching Warp 10 makes distance meaningless. And they can travel to alternate dimensions. So... Is the UFP Type 1.x, 2, 3, 4 or 4+
@@jasonskeans3327 There's no in-universe law prohibiting a replicator replicating itself (as 'twas never said replicators are made of non-replicable parts0. And even we can create dyson spheres using von neumman probes, where the only difference is the use of planet than an energy source.

I don't think Iconians are entirely energy beings, maybe more like taelons from Earth: Final Conflict? There's still a physical aspect to them that can't just be dissolved and reformed intact when they're injured. T'Ket's arm could be chopped off in her "energy" form and isn't regrown or reattached. L'Miren's lower legs are lost in the evacuation (or badly injured) and she doesn't have them in her "energy" form 200,000 years later.

To calculate the percentage of individuals that are heterozygous for a particular trait in a population of diploid organisms, you can use the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium equation. The equation is:
[p^2 + 2pq + q^2 = 1]
Where:
- (p^2) represents the frequency of homozygous dominant individuals.
- (2pq) represents the frequency of heterozygous individuals.
- (q^2) represents the frequency of homozygous recessive individuals.
You mentioned that 9 percent of the population is homozygous recessive (q^2). So, (q^2 = 0.09).
Now, we can calculate (q):
[q = sqrt{0.09} = 0.3]
Since (p) and (q) represent the frequencies of the two alleles in the population and must add up to 1, we can calculate (p):
[p = 1 - q = 1 - 0.3 = 0.7]
Now, we can calculate the percentage of individuals that are heterozygous (2pq):
[2pq = 2 * 0.7 * 0.3 = 0.42]
To express this as a percentage, multiply by 100:
[0.42 * 100 = 42%]
So, approximately 42% of the population are heterozygous for that trait.

I'm disappointed CI is not using the ost from Chrono Trigger when exploring the Iconian city.
Gotta wonder how Sela wasn't just shot on the spot.
She knows what she did.
More than a few times when playing this mission myself, I made the comment 'Can I please just shoot her??' :-)
Those Iconians, what gosh darn nice species. Let's be friends.
The tigers are gosh darn nice species, too. Try to be friend with them and you will be tiger food soon enough.
Can you please do a culturalindex on the iconians?
This getting real dark soon i guess.
Sentient dog weird? No way! I'd love to just chill and talk to my dogs lol
This is what new trek should be about.
42 is the answer to everything.
A missing texture on an iconIan gate reality really is a simulation
Oof, glad it isnt me on this mission... i might be the one to save the iconians. Possibly changing the timeline to have them ally with the Federation
“Herald” is a strange name for a pet/ slave species isn’t it?
Of course part of me wonders where their blue-eyed white horses are. ;-)
So... Is the UFP Type 1.x, 2, 3, 4 or 4+
@@cpasr8065 a replicators cant replicate it self
@@jasonskeans3327 There's no in-universe law prohibiting a replicator replicating itself (as 'twas never said replicators are made of non-replicable parts0.
And even we can create dyson spheres using von neumman probes, where the only difference is the use of planet than an energy source.
@@cpasr8065 its not somenlae that prevents it its the size replicators can only make things that can fit in ther alcove
21:49 THAT'S FUNNY!
these guys definitely don't seem as aggressive and conquest oriented as their future counterparts. I will be interested to see what in the world happened to turn them so hostile. Sure the ones in this time are arrogant, self-absorbed, and have a major superiority complex, but they do at least seem friendly and benevolent.
Happy Star Trek Day btw 😃
rick,
please do a video about the transporters in star trek,& please do a video about the hutts slaves & slaves costumes, & a video about how people in star trek & star wars universe get married & divorce
The Iconians could cure COVID-19 for us, but we are not ready.
if they gave such tech to humans we would end up creating somekind of cancer with it and blaming them for it
@@DaviRBify Yeah... sadly we are not ready.
I feel like it's more accurate to say they'd cure everyone sick but not tell us how they did it, or help us make a vaccine, or help us develop more effective ways of dealing with viral illnesses. They'll give a person a fish but not teach them to fish, and there are some serious problems with that approach...
The Iconian story sounds like a shakespearian tragedy! Not an evil but a tragic race!
World Heart? Eggs in one basket ring a bell? How about a backup copy?!?
nice world heart you got there be a shame if someone stole it.
How do make your ship able to not die multiple times in one fight with anyone because I can Beasley fight the Malon without calling in the nimbus pirates
Iconian culture looks similar in structure to the Dominion.
The difference is that the Iconians don't treat their soldiers/companions as disposables, and that's make a lot a difference
I can't help but want to date one of those Iconian females😍
Wonder if the iconians stopped by the world where Kevin Uxbridge stayed?
Bugger it. I’m first as well 😂😂😂😂
OF COURSE the answer was Fourty Two!
What was that music in 0:00
Iconians: the Edith Keelers of the galaxy.
Or so they seem...
I'm wondering what actually happened to the species that attacked them during those 200,000 years.
you know I have to say I wonder what Tasha would think if she knew what her daughter had become
Hello
im still at eps 40 ;-;
but accidently pressed this lmao
I believe that Beta Content establishes that some of Q's direct organic ancestors were from the same planet as the Guardian, albeit a different continent.
I wonder if the iconians wiped out the very species that almost wiped them out later on.
Q, ultimately, is responsible for the fall of the T'Kon.
I'm just going to say it: Iconian Cultural Index. Yay or nay?
ty
Save the Iconians, don't stoop down to Sela's level.
If they do that I expect one of 2 outcomes: After they return to the future they are either greated by an Iconian Starfleet Officer or, and that seems more likely, they enter a Galaxy where everyone is a happy servant to the Iconians.
@@MetalheadAndNerd they could help to evacuate the iconians, this act of help should give them the perspective that their especies wouldnt be enemies and stop their paranoia about the Federation and others
@@DaviRBify At this time mankind didn't even exist. So they have no paranoia at that moment.
But they could conclude that they cannot risk to let any other species evolve to warp level to prevent any attack in the future.
@@MetalheadAndNerd the iconians are the same from that time but in the present they are energy beings . They would have to be more friendly towards the MilkWay Galaxy if they depend on the actual especies to survive
@@DaviRBifyIn my understanding the Iconians of flesh and blood are still technically superior at such a level that they could quickly militarize and become a war faring species. No need for becoming an energy being.
*cough* Dominion yeah exactly
after watching Picard I think we can guess what happened to the other races.......
The Iconians are not genocidal a$$hats. Not yet.
And neither are we.
Not yet.
Plot hole u could have just beamed a chronton torpedo into an omega reactor into the sphere n fill a vorcha with a skeleton crew to detonate their ship in sphere using a cargo hold of chronoton torpedeos for good measure
You've destroyed one sphere there, and they'll have been able to gateway out at least some of their forces beforehand. As for the subspace destruction and no-warp zone, that hurts you but not them, their gateways don't depend on subspace and can be made ship-sized. I don't think they even really use warp drive.
I want a cute sentient doggy
·_·
*Good ol Temporal Genocide*
Of course the answer is 42.
Iconians remind me of humans of the past and present .......minus the genetic manipulation of their sentient "pets"
I mean, look at the different breeds of dog around today, people created all of them from ancestral wolf-ish creatures through many generations of selectively breeding individuals with desired traits. We've done the same with a lot of plants (bananas and carrots for examples). A lot slower than the Iconians' method but pretty effective. Granted, dogs and cats aren't herald-smart, currently. :P
First for the First time
First! Finally!
Your dog is sentient! your dog lacks SAPIENCE! It always drives me mad when sci fi shows get that wrong!
That was a dumb dumb mission. I did everything possible to bomb the Iconians extinct but the mission didn't let me. The mission writers tried some lame attept at presuading me that the Iconians should be spared. However seeing that they somehow managed to indoctrinate a Klingon in such a short time sealed the deal for me. The only option is extermination at any cost and the mission denied that from my Captain. Lame, dumb, atrocious.
No worries about breeding slaves?
Enforced servitude. Slavery.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Spoiler alert!!!
Kylo ren kills han solo
Well I might as well not watch the video now then, thanks
