  • We visit a great junk yard in Western North Carolina (Forest City). Old classics, newer pony cars and everything in between. We also get a peek at some of Tim Hudson's project and completed cars. Join Tim, Tena and me for a look at some cool rides. 100 degrees that day. Thought I was going to cook! Lol.

    The red 69 Javelin is my original Javelin I purchased in 1974. It was yellow and I painted it trans/am red on a Friday night. I was 17 years old. I would really like to get my hands on what's left of the car. The memories of this 69 Javelin are still fresh in my mind. Thanks for sharing this video. I have been looking the Javelin all these years.

    • @indyme2
      @indyme2  4 роки тому

      Javelins are one of the most under rated but beautiful cars ever built. Really getting hard to find. A 390 or 401 engine is nearly impossible to find or too expensive to buy. Love them anyway. Hope you find your dream Javelin.

      @@indyme2 The red Javelin you featured in this video was my Javelin. I am going to call and see if I can purchase a memento off the car. I searched for the car all these years only to find it in your video.

      I would like to be. I have a big family that keeps me busy and my wife had her kidney out in October and is on the mend and that is my top priority now. I do have an 87 Jeep Cherokee that I would like to work on, an 87 Dodge Turbo'd Shadow, and an 86 Chevy Monte Carlo. Like you have said about time, as we get older unless we have real deep pockets we have to be selective on what we work on. My garage is gravel covered and open air. My mother in law has a garage that she has let me use but it needs to be cleaned out as it has become a convenient storage unit. So I have my work cut out for me. I get some work done when the weather is nicer. I also work part time for an industrial insulator. We work at places like Ashland, Celgene or Brystol Myers Squibb. Good talking to ya.

    I'm really imagining the day that owners got the delivery of their cars during 60's/70's/80's, and how they enjoyed and celebrated their first ride with their spouses and family. members. But today it's very painful to see those cars in junkyard.

    when you say parts car, does that mean its in too rough of shape to fix it up? the more I look at classics, the more I'm loving the 40's and 50's cars to be a project car in the future. I love the big 4 door classics with the beautiful chrome accents and the curves.

    • @indyme2
      @indyme2  7 років тому

      We are with you, Shawn. Big 50's chrome mobiles are beautiful. Kind of hard to define parts vs project cars as most any car can be restored if you have the abilities, money and desire. I consider it a parts car if reproduction sheet metal is scarce or doesn't exist at all, it's fairly rare so a second car for parts is not likely, it's not very complete and very rusty. If you have the desire and patience, you can make any car new. Some are just easier and less expensive to do than others. We appreciate you watching!

    Brad, I'm sorry about that. I wish the Canadians and Australians were able to enjoy as many classic cars as we have in the South. Within an hour going one way, I'll pass three junk yards, Seeing all these fine cars waste away will make you cry. That's why we have rescued 10 of them and 4 were from the that junk yard. I'm looking at two more. If I had the money I would have a yard full of them to restore. Check out this channel to see all that we are saving and thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment.
