      It's not an active junk yard, Grumpy. Closed many years ago. The owner still offers the cars and parts for restoration but he is retired. The good side is that he didn't send them to the crusher as most would have done. Rescue one like I and others are doing. Thanks for watching.

    You'd think if they can afford to keep the cars they could afford to clean around them. Just saying. New sub. Love these old scrap yards . even as a kid I'd walk around junkyards. True car lover at 62 yrs old
    Thanks for taking the time to walk me through this one

    • @indyme2
      @indyme2  4 роки тому

      I agree, John. I usually take a long handle shovel when I hit yards now. Can chop briars and move weeds to better get around cars. Have a great new junkyard video coming up soon. Just need a break in the weather. Also, a couple more after that if we get the details worked out. I spent last Friday in a junkyard. Picked up some great parts which I will probably show in a video soon. Can't believe how many great cars I missed when filming it earlier. There is usually just too much to see and limited time to shoot. We appreciate you watching and the sub. Will return the sub if I am not already subscribed.

      @indyme2  8 років тому

      Just noticed you have a 66 Charger, James. Didn't get to the junk yard this weekend but I believe the 66 in the other video is an automatic. Will check for you anyway. Thanks for watching.

    • @blah9664
      @blah9664 8 років тому

      indyme2 yup, it's an original 4 spd car but one of the previous owners swapped it out for a 727 auto. They took the pedals too. Brewers performance makes a complete kit for the 4 spd conversion so I'll most likely put a 4spd back in the car. I'm just trying to talk myself into paying 4k for it! lol. They don't remake the original 4spd shifters for the 66 charger so I'll have to find a nice used one. Thanks for checking it out for me.

    Been to this yard a time or two. Most the stuff is WAY to far gone. The white 65 SS Impala across the street was a buildable car until someone pulled the motor and trans (almost brought that home)

    It simply amazes me why someone hasn't covered those cars, AT LEAST THROW A TARP OVER THEM SHUT ALL THE DOORS, HOODS & TRUNK'S to prevent moisture from getting into them as much as possible, to preserve them! Why aren't the owners fixing them up? The barracuda, mustang & others?

    • @indyme2
      @indyme2  6 років тому

      D.j., with 400-600 cars out there it would cost a fortune to buy tarps and even more labor intensive to maintain the tarps. I have a hard time keeping tarps on some of my cars parked in the yard. I agree, the hoods, doors and trunks should be kept closed. Unfortunately the owner allows the public to wander through and take a look hoping for a sale. He can't walk all 4 large fields every time someone visits and check to see if anyone has left anything open. He asks you to please close any open doors, hoods or whatever they personally open and to close any others they may find. Most people are just too lazy to even do that. Like one junk yard owner said to me, " I have won no lottery. I can't fix them. I save them from the crusher and hope someone will rescue one. I did my part by not crushing them." We appreciate you watching and leaving a comment.

    Thanx for the nice Video! :)
    Can you tell me what is it for a nice blue 4 Door Hardtop? (Timecode 3:36-3:39) A 65 Chevy Impala/Caprice??? I wish I could get & restore it! :)
    It´s possible that you see that I like especially 4 doors, - 4 door hardtop´s at most! ;)
    I think it is nothing so cool, so elegant like a 4 door withouththe B-Pillar... that is my obsession! I restore US classic cars... I wish in those days the american auto makers go back so that aera and produce cars what stands for USA again! (Like Dodge do it with the Charger and Challenger, with the V8 Hemi engines... I think that is the right way what Dodge goes with this... :) )
    But GM: We don´t need eclectric cars! They are the biggest step backwards. E-Cars are the complete false, bad way, especially for america! Good that Dodge is making the Charger, Challenger and Hemi V8´s....
    Can you tell me if the owner of the yard have a eMail adress??? Because I´m looking for some parts for my present restoration...

    • @indyme2
      @indyme2  5 років тому

      Can't tell for sure and don't remember as I shot this video some time ago. It looks like a 66 Chevy? 4 door hardtop cars are cool. My cousin had a 56 Chevy 4 door hardtop. I loved that car. Almost bought a 57 Pontiac 4 door hardtop not long ago but he had just sold the rear end out of it and I wanted one complete. I believe there is a 57 Chevy 4 door hardtop in one of my other junkyard videos and it's still there, I believe. Going to that yard later this week to buy some parts. I'll take a look at it for you if you are interested. Headed to your channel. Hope you have some restoration videos. If not, make some, lol! Thanks for stopping in and leaving us some nice comments.

      I don't recall many AMC cars here. Two Javelins, one which I bought and the other red later model that is probably too rough to restore. I saw an earlier Rambler or two. One with a 327 Rambler engine. There was a Pacer but I think it has been sold. There are acres more of cars that I didn't have time to video. They get older as you walk back into the yard. You are probably right, Joseph. I guess the salt eats cars up there pretty good. The cars are Barracudas but they are Valiant Barracudas. Up here anything with a current inspection sticker is an automatic $1000.00. There is no environmental testing and anything below a 1995 does not require a title. If I was younger I might consider moving south, but 73 is a little old to be starting over.
