This night/game will always be special to me. 29th birthday and spent a relaxed night with my dad, having steak and watching a ball game over at the house. He was gone less than one month later, so I come back to this game to remember.
Baseball would be nothing if it wasn't for the men who came before. The game was built on their backs. I say thank you all for the games that made young boys dream of being like you.
I saw all these guys live for this game. Wonderful players. Rod Carew was fabulous. The only other 3rd basemen they missed was Cletus Boyer. He had a better glove than Brooks but not the bat. I lived in NYC with Mays, Mantle and Duke Snider playing centerfield. I loved Cletus. May he Rest In Peace.
Simply Amazing! I only wish Koufax, Bench, Morgan, Ryan, Seaver, and Every Other Living HOF'er could have been there. Actually, there's more than 49 HOFers in Attendance: Jeter, Chipper, Ichiro, etc.
with the House that Ruth Built: 39 American Leagues, 26 World Series Titles with #NotMyYankeeStadium: 1 American League, 1 World Series Title the Yankees are a shell of what they were without the magic of their true home
Michael David Silverman Dave isn’t in the hall of fame but Johnny and Joe should’ve definitely been there along with others like Stan Musial Carl Yastrzemski Carlton Fisk Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan
Notable names I didn't see: Sandy Koufax, Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, Robin Roberts, Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench. I'm sure I missed a few that were HoFers at the time but didn't attend. Quite frankly, I think it'd been nice if they'd mentioned those who couldn't be there
Yo los oía mentar hoy gracias a este juego de estrella los conocí en persona aunque sea por tv quiénes eran y lo que ellos hicieron en el béisbol de la mlb ...
and Dave Winfield should be inducted as a Yankee. Reggie didn't get along with Athletics and Dave with Yankees after their careers so now the Hall of Fame picks the team.
Still can't believe they tore this Stadium down. They lost the mystic when they moved across the street. They should've just modernized it a little. no need to tear it down.
As of now, 6 Chipper, Mauer, Jeter, Big Papi, Mo and Roy Halladay 8 once Pujols & Ichiro go in And cases can be made for A-Rod & Manny (roids kept them out). Billy Wagner and possibly Francisco Rodríguez also
It's crazy how many legends were gathered on that field. I'm kinda pissed that the announcer hyped up Willie Mays but not Hank Aaron, though. They were the two biggest legends on that field.
the greatest induction ceremony in baseball history . . . not ashamed to admit tears and goosebumps during this final All Star at Yankee Stadium I

One of the greatest nights in All-Star Game history.
William Dunphy Baseball History
Yogi Berra's ovation, at Yankee Stadium, should have been twice as loud and long. (this from a born and raised in Boston, Red Sox fan.
Amen sir, the same can be said for Ted Williams ovation in the '99 All Star Game at Fenway Park, & im.a born & bread Yankees fan!
BIG Doggie (Tony Perez )The RBI machine !!!all of those guys together were and they still really the best of the best

Not even close. Brooks Robinson defense, wade boggs offense
I believe that a criterion for inclusion for this event was to be a Hall of Famer. Boyer was not.

Ichiro doesn't technically count... yet 😂😂😂
@Robert Palatsky Technically but I mean...who's gonna argue that he shouldn't be?
Yogi.!!! Yogi.!!! I bet he can remember when they were calling his name over 50 years ago
There was absolutely nothing wrong with the old stadium
But the new one is better
@Danny Pollock Well I'm not a Yankees fan and don't really follow their history that much but I loved the old one but it looks a little bit weird
with the House that Ruth Built: 39 American Leagues, 26 World Series Titles

THANK YOU,
DAVE WINFIELD.

Ernie Banks always wanted to play two games a day, he can now in the Field of Dreams
Anyone else laugh everytime they booed the Red Sox 💀
Gives you goosebumps
RIP Willie McCovey
12:13 Matt Holliday would be back but in the current stadium as a Yankee in the 2010s
Bringing back great memories 👍
Where was Johnny Bench,Joe Morgan, and Dave Concepcion?

Kenneth Shouler fasho. Can’t forget the left arm of god
@@kennethshouler3055 Koufax showing up wearing a Brooklyn Dodgers hat would have really gotten an obviation.
Tom Lasorda holds the all time record of getting caught on camera picking his nose.
The way the crowd erupted for Derek Jeter
Esos si eran jugadores de verdad no como ahora que no juegan nada y ganan millones sin merecerlos ..
Mays has that look on his face “ they better use the catch clip for me or I’m out of here
Increíble ver tantos jugadores del salón de la fama en un juego de estrella en persona esto fue inmaginable como lo organizaron bravos yanquis ...

Gary carter got a new york mets cap just to be sure
I'm going to guess that either Willie Mays was a bit ill or was in a pretty bad mood that night.
Great players
Willie be like, none of these guys can match me lol
A time where people were off there phones, and the players weren’t all about flash with the chains and shoes. A simpler time. And I’m 17 lol
You write like it. Go read a book.
Legendary
10:47 joe buck didn't forget him about last night HR Derby
They saved the greatest living Yankee at the time for last, Yogi Berra.
Reggie Jackson should have been inducted as an Athletic.
3 world series titles and a world series MVP
and Dave Winfield should be inducted as a Yankee. Reggie didn't get along with Athletics and Dave with Yankees after their careers so now the Hall of Fame picks the team.
I’m glad Winfield selected to be a Padre.
Winfield made sure he also had a Yankee hat with him. For me big Dave Winfield will always be a Yankee.
@@tommybroccoli2267 and so does gary carter with the mets cap although he played most of his career in the bigs as an montreal expo
asgure Jackson is better remembered as a Yankee. The 1977 Yankees season “Bronx Zoo” is extremely famous
As a fun game to watch
I wonder where Koufax is
also ken Griffey jr, carlton fisk, Nolan ryan, and tom seaver
retired
Still can't believe they tore this Stadium down. They lost the mystic when they moved across the street. They should've just modernized it a little. no need to tear it down.
It was falling apart, and way out of date. Not to mention too crammed and tight
The new one is beautiful
Geez, Willie Mays wasn't exactly with the program...
I'm still trying to figure out what was going on with him. Dude seemed so pissed and completely snubbed Hamilton.
Barry Bonds may have more HRs, but Hammerin' Hank Aaron will always be the HR King to me.
No doubt. The one guy cheated, and Hank didn't.
where was Tom Seaver??
I wonder how many more Hall of Famers were playing in this game?

He has got a NY mets cap just to remind fans in the big apple
How come you guys didn't get Nolan Ryan.
Yes you’re right I’m named after him

How did they have no Red Sox greats
