Every reactor keeps asking that stupid question and commentators keep replying this stupid answer. The fucking robot DID NOT KNOW they where going to immediately cut her open until AFTER he healed her. It's trying to get her healthy because they were keeping prisoners in the freezer cells. It didn't know they she was next when he healed her. It's truly not as complicated as you kids are making it out to be.
Nah, I think it’s because a hand with 5 fingers is worth way more than one with 4, even if they’re mismatched.

I'll be real.. that little scene with Roger was lowkey heartbreaking. Also, Matt Berry is perfect as the voice of Mr. Handy.
Those grunts of pain as he struggled not to change, him not being mad about Cooper not having anymore viles and then warning them to leave so he doesn’t hurt them. Yep, that was a really sad scene
The show did a great job at humanizing the ghouls, and showing how tragic their existence is, feral or not.

This scene pretty much solidified the show as a great one for me, so much emotion for such a small scene.

My guess about why the robot attached the finger is that it's just running through it's regular programming to help people, but the organ harvesters added the code to harvest organs without deleting the original help routine.
I love that he was talking to himself from the past at the end.

And he’s watching it like “shit I’ve become the asshole”

the realization of the water in the flask being radiated to me meant the ghoul wanted HER to make the CHOICE. like she didnt know it was irradiated, she assumed the water was fine for her to drink and he considered that naive. so he dragged her and taught her.
I'll be honest. I think lucy sort of understands that he was trying to help her in his own way. Basically, the ghoul is showing lucy how cruel the outside can be and to survive sometimes you have to do things you dont want to.
Just he went about it the wrong way.
I have a theory, Betty put him in the food position thinking he would poison them.
I believe that makes sense. She wanted to get rid of the raiders but couldn't break the mask that she made to be an inhabitant of the vault. She want to get re-elected after all.
I got a better theory. She gave him the job so he wouldn’t poison them, because it would be so obvious who poisoned them.
Then if anything does happen, she has leverage over him.
Ooh, that's a good theory! I always just took it at face value: she saw that Norman felt genuine rage over the raiders so she knew the only way they could effectively punish him was to force him into a position where he has to look after them. I don't know if she genuinely thought he'd try to hurt them, though. She warns against him doing anything out of anger and Norm himself claims he's too much of a chicken to fight. I feel like even though he was the one who suggested they kill the raiders, he'd never be willing to do it himself.

I love how Lucy is used to represent the new player to the Fallout game who tries to stick to the main quest; while The Ghoul represents the long time player who does all the side quests, finds all the loot, and becomes incredibly OP

I don't know if you guys noticed this but each main character represents different moralty. Luch is morally good, Maximus is morally gray, and the Ghoul is with no moralty.
Cooper Howard isn't the only ghoul who is still alive from a time before the bombs fell.
There is a ghoul you can rescue in Fallout: New Vegas named Raul Tejada.
He's a Mexican gunslinger who survived the bombs falling, and has been wandering the wasteland as an old mechanic ever since. He can be convinced to take up his gunslinging ways once more in order to travel with the Courier (your character).
His stories are my favorite.

In the game there was no medicine to prevent ghouls from going feral. You either went feral by the time you changed or you never went feral.
Some went feral later. Sometimes it seems based on taking more rads over all those years. Despite them being incredibly resistant to them. The serum nonsense though...yea that really came outta left field.

I really expected The Ghoul to warm up to Lucy by now, I’m used to seeing it happen pretty fast in shows when there is a dynamic like theirs. I’m glad he hasn’t cause he couldn’t have gotten this far by being a good person.

… the Ghoul medication to prevent from going Feral is a new-ish addition to the game’s lore (first mentioned in FO4 if I remember correctly) but they also show Cooper eating a specific organ initially from his friend (kidney or liver?) and I wonder if that’s where they distill the medication from, some kinda gland or hormone that helps slow down deterioration, and why they had so many ghouls in the fridges waiting to be ‘harvested’.
Though in that case, what are they harvesting normal(ish?) human organs for? To keep the ghouls fed? And why keep feral ones on-hand? Surely they would be ‘ripe’ to harvest, or require being disposed, right? The possibilities.
The see-saw balance of answers and questions is a careful one.
The liver might contain trace concentrations of the medication.
I always took him eating Roger meat because it looks like Roger just finished his vials not to long ago...so his flesh should contain some of the contents still
@@alecLogan yeah, I'm really digging how they are balancing the question to answer dynamic in the show's writing. :) ... and i'm thinking that the "normal human" harvesting is always good to replenish "supplies" in the Fallout world, but I do wonder if this particular group specialized in the Ghoul medication, since they had so much of it, and if maybe it involves harvesting of some kinda hormone etc from other ghouls... kinda' like how poisons are usually the antidote to poisons in the real world etc.
@@SuperCasperman I would not be surprised if it's some kinda' brain or spinal fluid from other Ghouls (since they are all so heavily radiated as part of their biology etc etc)... that's "Frankenstein-ish" enough to fit the dark humor of the Fallout world ! 😆

A Bioshock show if done correctly would be the most popular game adaptation of all time. Bioshock imo is one of the best game franchises to ever exist

That’s how the original Fallout game ended. The Vault Dweller literally saves Southern California from Super Mutants, but he changed so much that the Overseer of the vault didn’t let him back in.
Yes and just to add to that, the overseer also thought that the protagonist would inspire others to leave the vault.
@@Retrovoriousyeah has nothing to do with what the dweller did outside of the vault but more like the fact that the overseer made him leave and the dweller survived is enough to inspire anarchy. That's what he believes, anyways.

My take on putting a new finger on is that It was apart of its original programming. So a patient has to be completely healthy before a surgical procedure but now the procedure is organ harvesting 🤷🏾♂️

The reason he put the finger back is because these robots were programmed for pre-war treatment. For example, in Fallout 3, you have one cut your cake up with a buzzsaw blade and it makes a huge mess. Theyre a good blend of good intentions with eerie design flaws, then after years of neglect, theyve metaphorically, possibly literally, got a few screws loose
