I'll be honest. I think lucy sort of understands that he was trying to help her in his own way. Basically, the ghoul is showing lucy how cruel the outside can be and to survive sometimes you have to do things you dont want to. Just he went about it the wrong way.
I believe that makes sense. She wanted to get rid of the raiders but couldn't break the mask that she made to be an inhabitant of the vault. She want to get re-elected after all.
I got a better theory. She gave him the job so he wouldn’t poison them, because it would be so obvious who poisoned them. Then if anything does happen, she has leverage over him.

I always just took it at face value: she saw that Norman felt genuine rage over the raiders so she knew the only way they could effectively punish him was to force him into a position where he has to look after them. I don't know if she genuinely thought he'd try to hurt them, though. She warns against him doing anything out of anger and Norm himself claims he's too much of a chicken to fight. I feel like even though he was the one who suggested they kill the raiders, he'd never be willing to do it himself.
That last scene is important because it shows him now fully aware he was participating in propaganda at the time without his knowledge of the Incoming nuclear war
the realization of the water in the flask being radiated to me meant the ghoul wanted HER to make the CHOICE. like she didnt know it was irradiated, she assumed the water was fine for her to drink and he considered that naive. so he dragged her and taught her.
I love how Lucy is used to represent the new player to the Fallout game who tries to stick to the main quest; while The Ghoul represents the long time player who does all the side quests, finds all the loot, and becomes incredibly OP
Cooper Howard isn't the only ghoul who is still alive from a time before the bombs fell. There is a ghoul you can rescue in Fallout: New Vegas named Raul Tejada. He's a Mexican gunslinger who survived the bombs falling, and has been wandering the wasteland as an old mechanic ever since. He can be convinced to take up his gunslinging ways once more in order to travel with the Courier (your character). His stories are my favorite.

… the Ghoul medication to prevent from going Feral is a new-ish addition to the game’s lore (first mentioned in FO4 if I remember correctly) but they also show Cooper eating a specific organ initially from his friend (kidney or liver?) and I wonder if that’s where they distill the medication from, some kinda gland or hormone that helps slow down deterioration, and why they had so many ghouls in the fridges waiting to be ‘harvested’.
Though in that case, what are they harvesting normal(ish?) human organs for? To keep the ghouls fed? And why keep feral ones on-hand? Surely they would be ‘ripe’ to harvest, or require being disposed, right? The possibilities. The see-saw balance of answers and questions is a careful one.

You went on a multi-month journey to find a water chip the save your vault, then asked to fight a mutant army, and after all is said and done the overseer tells you that you have to leave. Of course the main character promply shoots him in the back and walks off into the wastes.
The reason he put the finger back is because these robots were programmed for pre-war treatment. For example, in Fallout 3, you have one cut your cake up with a buzzsaw blade and it makes a huge mess. Theyre a good blend of good intentions with eerie design flaws, then after years of neglect, theyve metaphorically, possibly literally, got a few screws loose

It's still so wild to me knowing that there's a small subset of people who vehemently despise this show, at first it was people just being nitpicky about the smallest details but people are just hating for absolutely no good reason now. It's like some people see how well received the show is to fans and instead of celebrating us getting something that's actually good, they wanna stand out from the crowd and completely trash on every aspect of the show despite having no legitimate reason to. I don't know, as a diehard fan of the franchise for 20 years it's just mind boggling to me. This show pays homage to practically every Fallout game, it fits within the timeline of the lore so well whilst making this world feel truly alive and ongoing even with the almost 10 years having passed since the last game was released. It feels like this world still continues even when we aren't playing the games and I love that so much.

That’s how the original Fallout game ended. The Vault Dweller literally saves Southern California from Super Mutants, but he changed so much that the Overseer of the vault didn’t let him back in.
Yes and just to add to that, the overseer also thought that the protagonist would inspire others to leave the vault.
@@Retrovoriousyeah has nothing to do with what the dweller did outside of the vault but more like the fact that the overseer made him leave and the dweller survived is enough to inspire anarchy. That's what he believes, anyways.
