Thank You! I just bought one for my mew home and she is huge but arrived from the greenhouse with some very damaged leaves but I did not know how to and if it’s okay to prune her. I got quite a few leaves off but honestly it made her look so much better!

what type of potting mix do you use?

for the side branches you cut off, do you try to propagate them into new plants?

That is the plan, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Maybe this year I will try

I got my bird of paradise from ikea 6 months ago, and she hasn’t changed since. She has a stunted new leaf coming in. The other leaves are curling. I’m just going to cut those leaves and see what happens. I’m frustrated😡

Thanks for watching! If you feel comfortable you can always unroll the leaf if it is already out. Sometimes they need a little help unrolling. I’ve done it a few times already. Def prune at least once a year. I’m about to do that soon. Also remember these plants have really big leaves so they might need more water than your average plant.
