So many years ago, this was the video that got me to play this game. Still one of my favorite boss fights ever to this day. The "stupid disciple" chain is a thing of art.
02:09 Haha I love Barlowe's crazy face otherwise this and the Albus fight are both in my top picks for the most epic moments in the entire Castlevania series
VGPorage The only other Castlevania game where a boss fight had that much of an impact on the character (Lords of Shadow does not count... no pun intended) is Symphony of the Night... and maybe the Sorrow games.
People doing enough evil let Dracula to use that "energy" of whatever for return. That's occurs approximately every 100 years (because energy just pile up across the time), but if evil energy from humans comes in bigger cuantities, as in WWII (Portrait of Ruin's backstory) he can come back in least time.
Yeah, same happens with good energy making it slower But a lie is on the dracula cult, that humans do not desire him, its just that he absorbs the negative energy that appears and dissolves naturally in the world He just needs to charge 100 years to return, and it happens because peoples suffering, not wish for destruction, is like He eats the spite of life, thats all, not wishes or desires Thats why I hate Barlowe
The face at 2:01. Got bored and thought of an alternate evil story. Shanoa: I've got a bad feeling about this guy now. What sort of evil are you planning, Barlowe? Barlowe: I was the one who set the whoopie cusion in your chair the other night when you, Albus, and I were eating dinner the other night! Shanoa: What?! Oh, you are dead! Barlowe: I'm also planning on reviving Dracula! Shanoa: I don't give a crap about Dracula! You and Albus wouldn't lay off of me after that joke you pulled! Albus' Spirit: *snickering* Shanoa: Albus! If you don't shut it! I swear! I'll- Albus' Spirit: You'll do what? You already killed me and my soul is inside you. You can't touch me. Shanoa: I hate both of you...
LOL And I was thinking; Shanoa: What's he up to, exactly...? Barlowe: And, little did you know; I was the one who distributed those lewd photos of you in the village! Shanoa: No---! That was you?!
After that, you should've seen visions of people you didn't save accross the game. You must save them before going back to Ecclesia, so you can proceed to this boss battle and the final map of the game (the biggest one, and well-known to any fan of the series).
I just got to this part on my 3DS and beat him in about 5 or 6 tries. Now I'm at Dracula's castle. This game rocks and do you know how to get this using an emulator cause I don't wanna tape it on my DS with my digital camera cause the quality always turns out so lousy. I also love the track when she moves away from him during the story part. That track actually sounds kinda like this track from the ending of the "Night of the Living Dead" 1989 version. Cool homage if they meant it that way.
I know the no-damage metals are probably not canon but I like to think that Barlowe was the exception, and that he just owned a gold metal with his face engraved on it
ZSlyzer: There is only one graphical glitch present; which is the ¨Electric Books¨ where it shows no electricity around him. Me: Yeah, I played this game and I saw Electricity on it :), I just used 86 bit emulator.
This is after fighting Albus, right? If so, did Shanoa simply leave him behind after getting the third Dominus glyph, or did something else happen upon getting it? If it's the former, you're missing at least one villager.
Hope the next Netflix adaptation after "Nocturne" is a mix of "Legacy of Darkness", "68" and "Order of Eclesia" (the latter because we are never specified when in the 1800s it's set). I imagine the story would be about Barlowe and the Actrise trying to corrupt either Xanoa or Cornell, more likely Xanoa. One thing I hope to see on that show, is to see Aida remember it was her older brother who murdered her biological parents, leaving her prone to be bitten and ready to fight for her masters. Nothing personal, I just don't think it's good for her to forget something like that. I imagine the story would begin with Cornell and Aida (Barlowe would be the mastermind trying to get the curse's power for Dominus), but while he would succeed at saving her by giving up his power, I imagine Guilles would turn her into one and use her to torment the former werewolf. Then, we would jump to the "68" storyline, only this time including Xanoa instead of Dracula's kid version.
Lo dudo ya que en la serie solo se tratara de los juegos de la línea de los Belmont aún que sería genial que incluyan a los protagonistas no Belmont excepto julius
It takes place in events before(1810) or after(1815) the events of the war of 1812. But the think the reason why it’s not on the printed timeline is because Order of Ecclesia was released in 2008, While Portrait of Ruin was released in 2006.
In Order of Ecclesia, Shanoa can equip an offensive glyph on her left and right arms. You can equip the same glyph on both arms, allowing you to attack twice with the same glyph. Some glyphs like Confodere can be used repeatedly until you run out of MP by alternating between the left and right glyph attack. Others like Pneuma have special effects when you throw out both to create a bigger effect.
Alucard helped Soma Cruz, helped Trevor, but what the hell was he doing while Barlowe was doing all this mess? He investigated even the stupid cult from Celia in Dawn of Sorrow. Im afraid konami states this game as non-canon at any time.
It won't be stated as non cannon. Alucard was in his eternal sleep (I think) and DoS takes place in 2036 (a year after Aria) while OoE happens in the 19th century. I don't see any inconsistence.
No final diz que a organização de Ecclesia simplesmente foi esquecida no tempo, procura no youtube que tu vai vir, tá assim: "as all record of Ecclesia vanished into the mists of time".
I think this game takes place in the distant future of the castlevania games.... remember that the Belmont clan had died out by this point and only a few of their distant descendants were around, so figure at least 200 years, who knows where Alucard had gone by that point.
Well, perhaps luck isn't the best word here, I'm merely puzzled that he didn't use that move at all, not even once; for the record, I'm fully aware of that absorbing tactics here.
I actually used a piece of Dominus to defeat him. How ironic. Be careful when he freezes the floor. If you get frozen while having it active you'll probably die. Barlowe's voice actor really took his job seriously and I love it.
He either took it way too seriously or refused to take it seriously at all and, honestly, either choice yielded amazing results.
Glad to see people like the "STUPID DISCIPLE" line as much as I do. It's worth dying every time just to hear it.
Heheheeheh

Non-native speaker here. Can someone please tell me what's so funny about "stupid disciple"?
@@yifuwang2275 That's because in Castlevania game people are so polite, so when suddenly you heard a accurate insult is just hilarious.

Trivia- Barlowe's voice actor voices Rinaldo from Lament of Innocence.
