Does anybody get chills when listening to the end, or is it just me?
Actually the ending is the azure flute theme which plays when you’re about to catch arceus, that’s intentionally put there
When I was 7 years old I never skipped this opening, I literally begged my parents to get me this game, and I still have it to this day
I absolutely adore how when you play the flutes in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, they play the first couple notes of the intro theme, and the Azure Flute even plays some extended notes.
Even more, the little jingle that plays when you rank up in Legends: Arceus also comes from this intro! I think it's cool
I just got Arceus, I noticed when you press start it sounds the same as the diamond start up. How far do I have to get to play these flutes? Or is it a spoiler?
i refuse to acknowledge that diamond and pearl is more than a decade old now.
@@darkmare2261 its 14 years old then. I hope this isn't a joke and I don't get wooshed
The ending of the intro scared me a little bit when I was a kid playing this game... but I had good times playing this game, I can't believe I lost it though ;-;. At least I found Pokémon Platinum that only cost 15 dollars at the flea market! And it worked perfectly.
2Fast4SONIC are you sure the platinum isn't fake? Just check since I would hate to find out if my platinum is fake. Also because the save file is more susceptible to corruption
sparksthedaytrader It is not fake, I actually did found a copy of the game from the flea market 3 years ago and it works just fine.
The way in which the protagonists walk slowly in this intro (compared to them running in Platinum's intro) seems like an expression of Diamond & Perls dreaded slowness compared with Platinum.
True, but personally I always thought the slow power walk in this intro was an epic touch! :)
Platinum wasn't as good plot wise and the art change felt weird.
@@Quetzalcoatl-Dragon_97 What are you blabbering about? Platinum was an improvement in almost every way, with plot being a notably improved, for example.
THE FLUTE IN LEGENDS ARCEUS MAKES THAT SOUND
In my opinion still the best generation and the one with the most epic intro ever!
@@newmanemeanaa6157I like Black and White as much as the next guy, but I'm sorry... I love Gen 4's intro so much more.
And now I can finally say this: SINNOH CONFIRMED!
When I was 8, I used to listen to this over and over through my headphones in my DS while trying to sleep. I was having a rough night tonight, so I decided to try it again after 10 years. It actually made me feel calm and tired with the nostalgia. I think I can sleep now. Thank you.
1:22 is what makes this pokemon opening the best out of all other games
My first Pokemon game was Diamond, I got it when I was 6. The nostalgia is literally so strong it hurts
I first got this game when it came out in North America or really close to when it released in 2007. This was my first experience with the world of Pokemon and let me tell you it holds up to this day.
Ana Kitagawa the first Pokémon Game i ever played was Platinum in 2013. Dang. It was before Nintendo WiFi shut down. Could have used GTS and WiFi Room
Now this. THIS. Says "Welcome to the world of pokemon."
The ending was scary af
I'm so happy they brought back that little start noise in the remakes.
Same! I got instant chills when I first heard it. I feel like I’m 9 years old playing Pokémon Diamond for the first time again.
Still epic and creepy at the same time that the theme that plays at title screen is the Hall of Origin theme and sounds even more distorted than the original
0:22 through 0:33 gave me goosebumps all over my body I was drowning after not hearing it in years. But sorry folks my favorite game is Soul Silver. The fight with Red and being able to go to Kanto sold it. Plus the Legendary Dogs and Lugia was golden
@@mikatamaon The original pokemon blacks story with N I thought was one of the best
i knew the Celestica Flute's noise sounded familiar.... the lil noise before the GameFreak logo shows up 🙏
absolute chills the second i heard it!!
Its finally happening boys.
Can't wait to get my hands on those remakes.
2006 was my first year of high school. Coming from a small rural high-school, I'm pretty sure I was the only kid who bought the game (not that I've ever spoken to anyone about it). Everyone seemed pretty indifferent and pretty past the pokemon craze at this point. But inside me, my "pokemon steam" wouldn't stop running for another year or 2. I just kept it quietly to myself and played it at home, lol
Back here because of remake confirmation lol
I knew i recognized it in Legends, the flute sound is the little trill at the beginning of the video
It starts of heavy, then becomes very light harder just to throw an even heavier melody at you.
The flute!
I'm just here to remind myself of how nearly this entire theme was remixed upscaled and used in so many places in pokemon legends Arceus. God. It truly is THE remake. Bdsp was just a remaster.
2021
SINNOH FUCKING CONFIRMED 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Ho, and 11 years later they use the little flute sound of the begenning in the flute to call mounts in Pokemon Legends: Arceus
0:07 The Celestica flute.
Sooo... that's where the Azure Flute's song comes from...
WHEN WE SEE THIS TOMORROW OOOOHHHHH
0:22 through 0:32 is one of the hardest-hitting intro-sequences, musically, that the Pokemon franchise has ever had. I really miss that sort of dramatic gravity the series once held...
It sounds so somber and menacing, along with the logo using just black and white colors. Love it
Good memories being either 6 or 7 years old playing this game. This was one of the first ever video games I played. My brother gave me his DS Lite and I think a few days later he gave me this game along with some other games. This was my 1st ever Pokémon game and my favorite pokémon game.
Hoping remakes get announced at the end of the month.
me too. This is their last chance to redeem themselves for the lack of effort for the past years. Gen 4’s motive was to be the “ultimate generation” and it was.
my childhood right here
oh the nostalgia… my chest hurts 😪
I am glad to have found this game on the ground as a kid... it opened me up to my first Pokémon game!
Here after hearing about the remakes
Gosh...remember when entire generations of pokemon were filled with multiple games and addons that just made the experience better? Gen 3 and Gen 4 was where it that was the best I think. This intro brings back thos memories.
This was my first Pokémon game, many memories. ❤
I needed this, what a great feeling it is to hear this again after so so long!
I love this opening so much.
This started it all for me. I love Pokemon dearly but it is sad to see what is has become nowadays.
Gen 4 was my fav gen of Pokemon no doubt! Thanks for uploading. So nostalgic now!
Who here after remake announcement today?!
I got a story for y’all who care, my brother bought me this game shortly after it’s release and I never got past the frozen city part, so like any man who just got a job I saved up for a Nintendo switch and bought brilliant diamond and beat it within 2 weeks
This was a decade ago! I'm crying, only if I could go back ad experience this!
This intro is my favorite out of all the Pokémon games; usually you get an action cutscene of Pokémon battling or flying on screen, and maybe a chipper tune during the opening cutscene, then the Pokémon theme song on the title screen, but here you just get the title theme during the intro then it turns sinister when it shows Mount Coronet, and then ambient Arceus noises on the title screen
It sets a very different tone than the others and I love it
Man, I can't believe this made a return with legends arceus
I would give my soul to play this game for the first time again
WE DID IT!!! CAN’T WAIT TO RELIVE AS A CHILD
Who’s here after they announced the remake
???
Came back here cos of the remakes coming out soon
Dialga will always be my #1 favorite Legendary
The only Pokémon game that gave you chills..
It’s been almost exactly ten years since I’ve first played Pokémon Diamond. It was the first Pokémon game I played so the nostalgia it’s insane for me. Especially when I knew very little about the game so exploring it was a big adventure for me.
WE MADE IT. 2/26/2021
Remember playing this game. Introduces to awesome new pokemon like lucario and the new starter pokemon. Good times...
I used to play this game alot during my visit to the hospital every month, but that was Yearss ago. I still have my nintendo ds in my cabinet somewhere, it functions but sadly the game card is broken, wish i could still play it, i miss my torterra, my very first pokemon i acquired :')
Still have the dialga I caught in Diamond and Pearl all those years ago on my Sun and Moon save 😩
Have to say this was my favourite but my first was Fire Red. Nostalgia hit me like a truck.
Watching this before I go pick up Brilliant Diamond 😄
cant believe we get to relive this again :')
My 1st Pokémon game in 2007.
My childhood, such memories, I just got into 6th grade when diamond and pearl released
0:55 is the best part imo. I love how the three heroes and starters are presented here.
That’s enough to make a grown man cry
I remember thinking the two screens on the ds and the way they used it was so futuristic
The Diamond and Pearl remakes were announced today, came to listen to this masterpiece of a song
the first game i truly loved
thank you
Even if this is the last 2 min of our 20 minute direct tomorrow gamefreak is welcome to every dollar to my name atm.
Sinnoh remakes confirmed.
I've been a huge fan of pokemon since 2014 (I was 9)
I first started playing after I read the first 3 chapters of the DPPt manga, I dont remember much of the music, but the intro in particular is something that I remember vividly and I feel nostalgic every time. Thanks Gamefreak and nintendo!!!
Heliotrope Very nice! I’ve been a huge fan of Pokémon since 2009 (I was 9 too!). My first game was Platinum. :)
when/if they reveal the diamond and pearl remakes, they NEED to start by replicating the start of this intro, the part with he low pitched sound and when the logo comes on screen. I'll be extremely disappointed if they don't do this for the reveal.
I want to be watching some pokemon digital event, see a black screen, hear the ominous sound of this intro, and know what's coming, then hear the music fully kick in. they NEED to reveal it like that.
I'm watching this because Sinnoh remakes may or may not be announced in about an hour!!
My first pokemon game...the nostalgia..
Alternative title - 'goosebumps and nostalgia '
Get these trumpets out, pianos are my favourite instrument now
can't wait to see this intro on the switch at the end of this year
i really hope they keep this ominous feel in the remake title screen
I'm hear to replay this game and to nuzlock it after all this time... 6 or 7 years was it since I touched that game
NOSTALGIC
This was my first pokemon game
Cant wait for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl!
Can't wait to hear this in the remake
I dont care if the gen 4 remakes are bad or not, its finally here after 15 years of waiting, and I am gonna appreciate it.
Des frissons ! ❤️
I’ve played R/B/Y, G/S/C, R/S/E/FR/LG but none of those games gave me the excitement and joy like Pokémon Diamond (Gen 4 overall including the remakes of Gen 2). I’m literally excited for the remakes to relive those memories, even if it is remade and tweaked a bit
Love how the animations transition between the Ds's screen
Edit 12.04.21 1:24 wow
This game was practically still current when this video was uploaded
Just comparing this to brilliant diamond and crying
When I got this it was with my lil sister and my cousin, I got diamond, my sis got pearl and my cousin got diamond as well. We decided to pick different starters each, they got turtwig n piplup so I was left with chimchar not my first choice but I learned a very helpful big thanks to it in the game. Chimchars leer doesn't work how it's supposed to, it traps pokemon in battle instead of lowering defense. Because of this I captured Abra right before the first cave leading to the first gym. I even used the same bug to capture an Abra in platinum.
Can't wait to see this in 3D in November
The first few seconds of this are the same as the Hall of Origin theme holy shit
I don't know why but I thought the background noises at 1:50 was someone digging a grave.
the intro better be THIS good in the remake, though with how faithful it looks already i doubt the new intro will look bad!
*nostalgia attack*
We can say whatever we want about it in retrospect, but don’t lie: This was hype as fuck when we saw that the first time in 2006/7.
Sinnoh series still has the most badass Pokémon intro to me
Chantal S I agree! :)
You God damn right ma dude
Sinnoh and Hoenn had fucking godly intros. I loved the silhouettes and the shining they had to them
DP Productions your not the only one sinnoh was the first Pokemon game I ever play and still is even today
@@taiheart37 I half played ruby when I was rly young but thats cause my brother had it. My first pokemon game I played independantly was diamond and pearl. Then I went on to play hg/ss and black and white. I stopped after black and white
