Mandi it sounds like all the nice things he does for you are all materialistic/because he can afford to. Offering to do your dry cleaning, ordering you food etc is sweet and may appear as "looking after you" but they are all because he has the money to do that and it is easy for him. What he does for you is not something that any other man is not capable of. You need a man who meets your emotional needs, respects you, listens to you. You feel deeply and you need a man who can take care of you emotionally and trust me, he is out there. The only thing you will regret is if you settle.
many men look for women to have their kids and take care of them, the house, cook, clean etc. they believe their only role is providing financially and expect that to be enough for a woman to stay and be satisfied. if that's a future you want, that's fine. a man can love you but not respect you. there are several key pillars in a relationship-- love isnt enough. you're a funny, loving, hot woman. you deserve so much better Mandi. im iranian too and i think it's unhealthy how normalized toxic relationships are in our culture because many of us yell/communicate "passionately". it's not normal. it took getting into a relationship with a man who doesn't yell during fights for me to realize my own unhealthy traits as well. just because YOU yell or do/say toxic things doesn't mean it makes it ok if your man does it too. the behaviour isnt ok on either end but what im trying to say is dont EXCUSE his behaviour just because you do some bad things too. shift ur mindset to think "i need to change this behaviour and be healthier" -- while you do this, if HE isn't doing the same, then it's not worth it. another commenter said your KIDS will witness this. i think it's so important to imagine your future during pregnancy/having kids and thinking how these fights will impact you. being pregnant or having kids will not miraculously change his behaviour. will you be able to leave your kids to go to your sister's when you guys fight? if you do, how will your kids perceive this? what will he say to you if you do that? idk lots to consider. you're in full control of who you choose to love and be with in life. ily take care

Protect Mandi at all costs 🥺 you may not seem it at first but you are the most gentlest, kindest, emotionally intelligent person. No amount of gifts, dinners, materialistic things can make you truly happy. You desire respect and to be the main priority of the one you love. Watching you, I feel for you so strongly. I hear you say why does this happen to me? Because you allow it and it’s not because your naive or stupid, it’s because you care so deeply and yearn a type of love that he can never give. I wish you would see it and find the strength to leave. He does think you won’t leave and I wish you would prove him wrong and find TRUE happiness. It is out there for you. You just have to be brave and take the jump. Also you are in a very good position as you haven’t had a child with him yet and I wish I saw things like this, like you, before I had my first child. I know you guys talk about not making money from the podcast but seriously for the amount of listeners you have you should be. You guys need to get sponsors. I love this podcast. I listen to a lot of others too and this is the only one I listen to that doesn’t have sponsors & ad breaks for them

It’s so sad how you try and almost justify what your going through by saying ‘he does so many good things’ the absolute basics and foundation of a relationship is respect, without that you have nothing. He honestly sounds like an awful person, cussing your sister is we’re you should absolutely draw the line! The disrespect is so deep it is like there is no boundaries! And the fact he swears at you is honestly so shocking and it’s so normalised in your relationship. What kind of life are you living having such intense arguments every week and having to pack up, no offence your not a teenager your in your 30’s why would you want that for yourself? Is this someone you want to marry and have kids with honestly? From what is sounds like your future will be you sitting at home looking after the kids whilst he is out all the time. I think it’s ironic how Anna is almost insinuating cows lick is ‘better’. He sounds like an absolute controlling sociopath! He is absolutely no better! I was in a terrible relationship before and as Anna said you might reach a point where you can't take it anymore. I did and now have a great boyfriend. It's better to be single than in a relationship and unhappy.

These kind of episodes are good for both women that need to know they aren't alone in how they handle their situations with their significant others. And i also think you have good informative info for men as well, it gives insight to how women could possibly think and feel as well as show some men who could be putting their significant others through the same ordeals and not even realize it. I personally love listening to all kinds of people talk about what is true to them because i feel as though it helps me be more understanding to people of different cultures, sex, likes and dislikes. and you guys for sure help me see a side of people in the world i generally either don't pay attention to due to my own assumptions and/or types of people i don't normally come in contact with. It helps me grow as a person and make me more well-rounded when dealing with other and trying to understand other people and why they do what they do. So keep being your authentically raw selves and i am sure you guys will grow to the level you want to reach in the future.

I relate with you so much Mandi, the looming feelings of possible regret, the constant up and down, never quite being satisfied then hearing yourself become a complainer because you know what you deserve but just wish they’d push harder to fulfill it. I feel stuck. Esp when we have a toddler. I hope you gain some clarity 🤍

Mandi…..I would say make a list of what things your boyfriend does which upsets you a bit and think about what you can do to change your reaction to those so you don’t get so upset and then list out your absolute non-negotiables for the long term and sit down with your bf and see what he can do to change those, if you feel like he isn’t willing to change or work on any of those, then you need to bring it to an end
Personally I think your fear of regret once you have left him is down to your age. I think from your experiences you know how hard it is to have a successful relationship with someone and because you are at the age where you want to settle down and have children, leaving someone after dedicating so much time and effort fills you with fear because you know that it’s not guaranteed that you will find someone who does fulfil your needs.

The same way that you say that girl you are referring to from love island and think “how does she stay with a cheating boyfriend” … is the same way I keep wondering why/how Mandi doesn’t see that her boyfriend is toxic 😔 I wish she could remove herself from the situation. Mandi you would look back and be so glad you left. You are blinded by all the good things that you can’t see the severity of the horrible abuse. Only you can save yourself!

Also it sounds like you are re-evaluating what is important to you in your relationship and what you want and desire long term, like you say, I think your preferences are changing so listen to that voice within - INTUITION does not lie 💜 I broke up with my ex when I was 34 & Immediately felt the weight of the world lift off of Me, I've been on a massive healing journey within since then and am still single at 37 but now know exactly what I want from a man & relationship and my preferences and taste have 1000000% changed from what I thought I wanted back then to now for the better 💛

I am in tears as I am typing this. Just finished the episode I have never related to someone I don’t personally know as much as I have related to mandi today. This validated my feelings and made me realise I was not crazy in my relationship. I’m going to use this as motivation to break up with my boyfriend he has been moving mad the last few months

Hey Mandi! I love you & I have no doubt that Ginger-beard loves you, I believe the issue is Ginger Beard’s character, he needs to do self-work on himself & he needs to learn how to respect you & put you before himself. I was the exact same in arguments I would say things to get a reaction even though I didn’t mean them but it isn’t good to be like that and it isn’t fair to our loved ones. At the end of the day we are going to grow old Inshallah, and trust me money won’t matter as much, neither would looks, character is going to be thing that stays even your personalities are going to change. You don’t need to break up with him, he is your person, you just need to work on this together because you guys are a team. You shouldn’t let how he acts in arguments slide, you don’t deserve that.
Would love you guys to do an episode on how to know if your man is cheating or something similar or any experience of cheating in past relationships.
