Do you need to reprogram the module after installation?
FYI if you are in a rush or overwhelmed, the switch can be removed without removing the whole door panel. That torx screw at 2:10 can just pull out if lose enough or the entire plastic cone it's attached to will pop off. It's just glued on. It doesn't need to be there to pop the new switch back in.

Hey You didn't mention anything about programing the switch! You can't just swap switch,, These are DDM or Driver Door Module and as such require programming with Vida Volvo proprietary software.
Thanks for the comment, Dean. Well, I know it should. When I plugged in a used one on my 01 V70XC, it worked. I put used one, I heard that new ones need a software.
It could be another video how to program DDM.

Had to try a few but found one that worked without being programmed.

How did you get this to work? I'm told they cannot be removed and swapped to another vehicle as they are coded to the car the one I have won't do anything

Well, based on few Volvo forums - if you take window master module from the same model and year it should work. That what people say. I went to local junk yard and found one from 2001 Volvo V70. Cheers!
How do i know if i have a faulty swith or another type of window problem in the first place? Shouldn't show us how to diagnose this problem first before you do the installation?

My driver door switch works for all other windows, door locks and adjusts the passenger mirror but it does not work for the driver window, lock and mirror. Do you think the switch is bad? Is that what happened to yours?

Driver window switch failed more often on the module than other controls. You can take it apart; clean it, spray some lubricant or even solder some connections. I don't thinks module is bad itself, probably just driver window switch acting up. Mine got worn out. I got new used one from wrecker for 10$ from the same Volvo model - works perfectly fine. Cheers and stay warm.

Great video . But for 2000 , this is the wrong video for removing the door panel(s) . There are none of those nice clips that , push them in the center and easy-shmeezy . Nope . The only way I found the correct video is by saying my car was a ‘98 .
