same bro, the best looking jdm of all time, no gtr/nsx can top this design is just gorgeous, they might be better cars objectively but styling i think silvia takes the cake tbh
Silvia is acually a common name in some european countrys
Man, I wish that instead of this SUV craze we would live in a renaissance of sporty (and/or practical) coupes... it is such a shame that these cars might never come back, ever again :(
I just want estates instead of SUVs
@@Sithhy THAT is also a very desirable solution! 👌
After all these years and Doug still hasn't done a 300zx....My favorite car
This is my all-time favorite Nissan. I'm glad that Doug finally reviewed one of these, because this car is a legend! Thanks for this review, Doug!
Most Japanese/Australian (and NZ) built cars have their indicator on the right whilst most UK/Euro built cars have theirs on the left... and g'day from New Zealand! Love these wee Nissan's, had a 180sx back in the day - underpowered and bland but a lovely wee thing to chuck around!!!
Something about those 2000s CD Players are just SO COOL!!!
Unlike 2020s cars with boring plain radios.
2020s cars with touch screen everything is horrible you mean. I miss my Kenwood CD player in my old 300ZX with the 5 disc changer in the back. Best days ever.
CD players are so nostalgic & immersive. Everything on touch screens is so complicated.
@@randomcosplaydudesimpressi8509 I even didn't mind when cars got USB inputs around 2006 or so. All of the music I was downloading for free from the Internet I could just copy to a pen drive and have it in the car lol
The S15 is the one I’d want, skylines are badass and I love them, but man he Silvia steals my heart
I always turn on my moms wipers when i go to put it in gear because her wiper switch is where the gear shift is in my truck
I saw an S15 on the road a few days ago. I was struck by how good looking this car is.
0:25 Canada has had these for 10 years! (15 Year Rule). I find it interesting how Doug always says ‘North America’ and then speaks specifically about the US! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🍁🍁
Yes but alot of JDM shops I'm montreal and toronto have closed down
@@kartickanungo8486There is still a pretty big presence in Vancouver/Vancouver Island - lots of JDM Japanese/Euro stuff over there still
Quite a few JDM vehicles going around Winnipeg as well, especially the Toyota Crown, I spot something JDM every few days.
Also, however, Quebec has their own 25 year rule for registering imported vehicles in contrast to the 15 year rule in the rest of the country (Quebec likes to do things their own ways and this applies in many aspects)
Americans have this awful habit of literally forgetting that Canada exists.
@@sva60_cyyz59 I'm from Brazil and attended some English classes in Vancouver in 2016. I was mesmerized when I saw a car dealer selling JDM cars on Hastings Street for the first time. I never thought I'd see something like that.
I willfully didn't watch the new Porsche video but I'm here for this one! One of my childhood dream cars! SO COOL!
Now it's only fitting for you to review a B15 Sentra Spec V
I have one, not V spec tho lol
srsly
@@floodo1 if @ me, yes, they're quite common here
Finally an actual super cool car on the channel
Seeing cars like this in such good shape make me wish I still had my old 370z or had a new brz/gr86.
"That doesnt sound like a lot" that sounds like a crap ton of power for a stock 4 banger
Yeah but not compared to many other 4 bangers these days or overall compared to other cars in general.
Not to mention peak power numbers only tell you what the car is making at a certain RPM. You really need to know what the power/torque-band look like too to have an idea of how much grunt and what character the engine actually has.
Canada has been loving the S15 for the last 10 years
Toyota also does the front model badges in Japan. And the bodykit stuff isn't Spec R specific. You can get a Spec S Aero that will have all of that stuff, and inversely a Spec R non-aero.
I absolutely love these cars Doug. I'm drooling. Aways wanted one. Reading car mags. Love this body style. The video game car. 240sx? Ohhhh my goodness. Right hand drive. ❤❤🔥🔥👍😎
One highlight of mine for being stationed in Okinawa years ago was hooking up with a local one night in her S15 Silvia Spec R. I didn't get to drive it, though, just her. 😉
Us South Africans never got the Sylvia either...we did get the Sentra 200 STi and the Sabre 200 GXi, great performance cars, but they were naturally aspirated...
this car is certainly quirky, it manages to look old and new at the same time. So funny that Nissan added a boost gauge from the factory too lmao
My 1G and 2G Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX’s also had factory boost gauges
@@4G63Tx most turbo Mitsubishis came with boost gauges
@@clunk you say timeless
Still patiently waiting for a Z32 TT review! 🙏 Please Doug
This one was great for us big Nissan fans, for sure!
I had a 300zx twin turbo as my first car with only 800 miles in the 90’s.
How was the maintenance 🤔
@@NightsN2dr3ams well I was 16 so I beat the heck out of that car. I would go through brakes and rotors every six months. Tires every year. I did the oil every three thousand miles. Transmission drained ever 30,000 miles. Other than that it did great. Replaced the belts at 60,000. Wash and waxed it every weekend. It was spotless and garage kept.
@@gregorycasey3347 nice so maintenance was high then for the time?
@@NightsN2dr3ams well I did have bad driving habits. I was always going over 100 mph to school and home. 120 to Denver. Over a 100 to Windover NV.
Wow speed demon too fast yeah.lol @@gregorycasey3347
Gotta say im loving the latest Japanese cars reviews from Doug. The older ones were had "haha look weird japan thing, how dumb" vibe but now it's so well paced, researched and on the ground level. Really refreshing
About to see these all over Portland, cue the teriyaki boyz...
A perfect example of a clean, stock S15. Now I’m just waiting for Doug to review an AE86
Time for a Legnum VR-4 next!
The SR20DE and SR20DET were both amazing. You don’t really go by the numbers on those. You had to drive one to understand what it was. It was an experience and it just felt great. They came out around ‘89-‘90 and they were relevant all the way up until variable valve timing came along rendered them obsolete regarding HP numbers. But man, that feel was unbeatable in those little cars.
I love the era correct radio. I’d leave that in lol! Also it’s amazing the owner left it stock and hasn’t turned it into a low rider or drift bucket. Kudos to them.
It's sound beautiful, and hearing you so enthusiastic ir even better. You are so lucky to get behind the wheel of awsome cars.
My dream car 😍
I think we are on the same page
Wheel change, bronze or gold color (think STi gold wheels), Midnight Purple 3 wrap, call it a day 🫶🤙🤌
I can't believe these are 25 years old already.
Those taillights will always scream 99-05 Pontiac Grand Am to me
Yep GM stole the style
I was thinking the same. Even the interior vents on the center stack
Yep the tails always reminded me of the Grand Am too. I think this car definitely wears the design of them much better though for what it’s worth
Love the simplicity of the interior, less things to break and maintain.
Doug is the kind of guy that gives a CARS AND BIDSSS T-Shirt as a Birthday present 🎁 😮
OHH MY GOD, this Nissan is my all time favourite Nissan car, fell in love with the S15 because of Taniguchi's personal red Vertex S15, this car is all time beauty! glad Doug finally reviews it!
Taniguchi has a pearl white s15
THHIIISSSSS... is quirky Doug reviewing a quirky car!
I'm surprised he didn't mention the "Siliva" script in the sides of the headlights, one of my favorite little details of the S15.
Doug the kind of guy who feeds the rats in the park and even names them.
🤣🤣🤣
I bought one in 2003 (they were available in our market in Australia) and it was so tail happy I wrapped it around a streetlight pole only after a week and a half! It was a fun week and a half though!
Bah, clearly you can’t drive, I used to overtake dudes sideways around the outside in my S14.
@@rsoul7282 you clearly don’t drive hard enough if you haven’t reached the limit of your car yet
lol, skill issue. i opted for my R34 GT-V instead of an S15 at the start of this year.
NFS pro street vibes
Hell yeah, I remember using that car for the speed challenge races and I used to play the PS2 version of nfs prostreet
Na gran turismo vibe
The best feature of this car is that awesome 2000s CD player with the cool digital screen!
Looks very japanese 😅❤️🔥
Nissan Hates Money...
These days, definitely
first seen S15 SILIVIA in GRID 2 , just shocking to know that it was produced before 2000. stunning styling looking car ,really cool ,like mazda 6 ,timeless design , still catches the vibe . I wonder what was NISSAN doing when they pass 2000, "shift the way move" ?
Doug is the type of guy who sells Fast and Furious cars on Cars and Bids.
The s15 is my favourite car. The drifting and JDM history these chassis carry is worth the price. The fact that there is one out there that is unmodified is shocking to me, when typically either the spoiler, steering wheel, or hood would be changed almost as soon as it leaves the lot. the s15 is really a stunning car in a simplistic sense.
Doug the type of guy who has an angel and devil on his shoulders when he doesn't know what to do
Never thought I'd see Doug review a Silvia. This, alongside the S13 are my favorite personally.
18:15 52 out of 100? Come on it deserves more
Damn this car has a timeless design. Always fancied one and considered under rated.
Years ago i was vaction mode with friends in Jamaica. Coincidentally a car race was happening on a Sunday. Guys, this tiny country is thousands of miles away from Japan and yet they have several amazing JDM classics including the Sylvia, rx7s, skylines, supras
The Silvia looks sweet 😎. It's in good condition and mostly unmodified, truly a special imported JDM vehicle.
