Short notes/Summary - 1. This Video is aimed to help you reach peak productivity, so stay focused and stop scrolling the comments and/or the recommended videos. 2. DISCLAIMER[Not from jspark] - Please, please, please do NOT get distracted by his editing skills or the references you know of, you're here for a reason, so stick to the reason. 3. The actual notes begin now -> 3.1. The 55-minuterule -> 3.1.1 -> You don't procrastinate a task, you (99% of the time) procrastinate starting a task. Eg -> getting up from a comfy bed in winter to a study table with maths on it. 3.1.2 -> When you actually start, it's not that bad. It's just uncomfortable at the start[Newton's law of inertia/1st law of motion]. You can leverage this by using the 5-minute rule 3.1.2.1 -> In the 5-minute rule, force/convince yourself to do a task for 5 minutes. Chances are you won't feel it as bad after the first 5 minutes. Explained with the Zeigornik Effect [annoying, I know. Sorry] 3.1.2.1.1-> Zeigornik Effect- Somehow waiters can remember what the table ordered and the changes they did until the customer leaves. It's a difference between the open loop [eg. customer there] and closed loops[customer not being there]. Your brain hates open systems, yearning for closed and complete loops. By using the 5-minute rule, you create an open system. and your brain'll tend to close the system. 3.2 -> Accountability buddy - Sharing a goal with someone committed to a mutual success keeps a positive influence. 3.3 -> Deadlines. 3.3.1 -> Deadlines create a sense of urgency and a need for your mind to focus and get a task done. [eg -> when you suddenly become the honoured one[yes, a gojo reference] and manage to do a10-hourr task in 2 or 4 ultra focus, your brain knew it had to lock in and complete or else it'd not be in a good position] 3.3.1.1 -> Don't set hard deadlines[* read note at the end], just set soft deadlines so that you're still accountable for them. For example, if you have an exam in Feb, set a deadline that by the new year, I will be done with my exam prep. And if you have Feb exams like me and still haven't revised ANYTHING, buckle up, because we have to follow the rules from NOW. NOTE-I don't believe in "soft deadlines" as recommended in the video. I've tried this a lot and failed because my brain knew there wasn't real harm in it. If you face this issue like me, just set hard deadlines or add physical restrictions to your favourite activity UNLESS you have done your goal or studied for what you need to.
Thank you so much! This video might actually help me. I accidentally became addicted to my phone over the holidays and started procrastinating. But I have an exam due in 5 days, and French isn't my strongest subject. Maybe using these methods can help! I'll update you, but thanks a lot!💗
I've been binge watching jspark, I unfortunately once my grades got higher I stopped watching spark and my grades dropped again. Spark, you are literally carrying my grades right now.
I really needed it, perfect timing, Only today I was scolded for getting locked in social media, and I literally din't know how to get out of it, this literally helped me so much, Thank you soooo much.
1:17 this is true , i was studying and i said, "let me see what it is about so i have an idea of what its about (it was too long)" and i ended up reading all of it
bro ngl i'm in year 11 right now and i'm hella inspired by you jspark how you got all 9s. i wanted to ask you what kinda of grades should you get in mocks to get all 9s in your actual gcses?
flow state isn't reliable unless you're doing a task that's fast paced, for slower paced tasks try making consistent systems and set up things that might motivate you incase you aren't feeling like doing anything
Just me watching his videos with only 5% syllabus memorised and an exam this morning at 1.07 am God help I hope 5 mins thingie helps me rn before I sleep 😴
1:09 omg kyo kaneko? anyway, i already get decent grades, but i defo need this cuz i think id be cooked anytime soon if i keep being unproductive, so thanks for the vid!
Hi there. After the second semester of seventh grade I realized I can’t slack off no more, it feels like deep hell. May you give an advice for me for how do I prepare for exams and get straight 100 marks on each of them? I’m from South Korea (though an immigrant). Please, share your experience of being a high school student, I’d be grateful.
Thank u soooo much❤it was on the perfect timing I realized I have social studies exam for midterm and u came out of nowhere to help me 😅u are the best person giving advice 🫡✨
Well at least u studied. Not a small thing to study for 10hrs. Prolly next time instead of doing 10 hrs for one day, u can study for smaller durations but consistently over a longer period of time (like 2 hrs per day for a week, instead of 10 hr in one day) all the besttt!!

Thank u soooo much❤it was on the perfect timing

I studied 10 hours in a single day for a biology test and got a C 🥲
Damn that sucks
@ yea but to be fair it was pretty hard, like even the straight A kid who never failed a single exam found it hard
I feel bad bro but study smarter not harder
Well at least u studied. Not a small thing to study for 10hrs. Prolly next time instead of doing 10 hrs for one day, u can study for smaller durations but consistently over a longer period of time (like 2 hrs per day for a week, instead of 10 hr in one day) all the besttt!!
