Marilyn was only 6 years old when this took place.... crazy. Jean was the platinum blonde "blueprint" , so was Mae West. And Veronica Lake, who is ridiculously underrated.
I colorize her photos you brought her to video she's beautiful, I see the details of the clothing great. Thank you for all your color enhanced videos from the past.
I enjoyed this very short video very much, nice to see Miss Harlow having a relaxing day. I did'nt know how young she was when she passed, I'm not of her generation. ❤
She is beautiful, love the bob haircut and the palazzo pants ,styles come back over and over again, she was sick as a child , caused her kidneys I believe to be damaged, she did bleach her hair with double the amount of actual bleach ,which was very unsafe, her last movie she started making she had to have a double ,she was dying of kidney failure,so horrific, but the golden age of 20’s and 30’s was quite glamourous,I find it quite classy and gorgeous for the people who had money etc.
wow! This was so incredibly joyous to watch in color. I could literally imagine her just being a normal girl that exists in our modern day times - like someone i would go to high school or college with. it's quite interesting... to see what marilyn monroe would see and eventually become inspired by!
They used a caustic cocktail of chemicals (peroxide, ammonia, Clorox, and Lux flakes) on her hair to make it "platinum blonde". We are told that these chemicals didn't cause her death, but it's hard to imagine the chemicals didn't at least contribute to her internal organ failure.
Yes, I read a New Yorker article that talked about that chemical haircolor stew and how at one point there was even a contest across the country to see if anyone could recreate her exact shade of platinum; no one won. That's probably a good thing, in retrospect. There are a lot of people who agree with you, that the hair treatments may well have contributed to her death. She also had a mother and a studio that would not let her stop until she literally collapsed. RIP, Jean.
@@jasher2847 Actually her bout with Scarlet Fever at 15 years old damaged her kidneys. She had no idea they were degenerating until her diagnosis two days before her death. It wouldn't of mattered. There was no dialysis or transplants at that time. RIP
You blurred the footage (0:05)? People think the "current day" is so much more sophisticated, and people in the past would be "shocked" by what we do and see today. Not really, as demonstrated here were 90 year old footage is to risqué to be shown without censoring.
Progress in healthcare which would have saved Jean Harlow's life ( dialysis machines, kidney transplants, antibiotics ). Progress in social supports from FDR's social security act on that provided safety nets for many Americans. Progress in civil rights that improved the prospects of many Americans.
Actually, this little golfing session was and is still noted for Jean going braless, as was often her inclination. Her costumes would be daring, even now, particularly what she wore in Hell's Angels, which seemed to be frontless, backless, and sideless. The major "progress" now is that Jean's lovely, natural figure would get her nowhere in today's culture of excess.
She likely had little make up on and was out in the bright sun which will wash out someone with very pale skin. I still think she looks pretty and her personality shines through.
You brought her back from Yesterday, Thanks.
The film restoration is amazing. I wish this clip was longer. Thank you for this terrific channel and all your hard work.❤
She was so young when she died but here we can see her full of life nearly 100 years later. Wonderful video, thank you 💚
She had scarlet fever as a child and it damaged her organs
You feel like she's right in front of you in current time. 😍 Thanks for Upload Sweetheart!💕
I watched Platinum Blonde, Three Wise Girls, and a documentary on Harlow in the last week. So, this is extra special.
She was a stunning lady looking beautiful in her palazzo pants !! ❤❤

You would be over 100 years old if you were. She was born in 1911
@@SoCalRegisteredNurse Yikes! 😂
@@ritarodriguez4845 I’m curious how she had kidney failure at such a young age. Diabetes type 1 maybe?
@@SoCalRegisteredNurse
Jean got rheumatic fever at a summer camp that, unbeknownst to anyone, irreparably damaged her kidneys. 😢
@@EYE_GOTCHA That makes sense. Thank you
Wonderful actress, and a great young lady, gone to soon❤.
The colour is amazing.🥰
It’s the little details like the added voices that match perfectly. Omg this channel is such an amazing treat ❤❤
Looked a very decent swing

Kirsten Dunst should play her in a biopic!:)
Jean was beautiful, inside and out. Her stepfather, Marino Bello ( 0:26 ) was a greedy, smarmy creep.
I love her outfit! Those pants are amazing❤
Jean Harlow is Amazing, her work is Legendary, Sad she didn't live long to build her career further 💝🌹

I think what contributed was the fact she haven't seen a doctor throughout her career...

Baby Jean ❤❤❤
Wow she was only 21 here and looks double that age. The aging process has slowed down immensely.
Would love to know where this was shot? San Fernando Valley perhaps?
RIP Jean Harlow, there’s something relaxing about the sound of the tapping golfballs
I actually met jean Harlow in the 30s when I was in my late 40s...

Dressed modestly, no tattoos, decent swing. Progress isn’t always progress.

Looks very old money
Bell bottoms in the 1930's ??? Who knew ??
And the boomers all like to act like those types of pants were a fad from the 70's. My dad still tells me stories about his elephant pants.
You can tell those guys didn't like the idea of women competing in golf. They uncomfortable.
