    Liking your weird cheapo build style here and your chill demeanor.
    And for Halloween, as per the last eight years, I'm running a community haunted house out of my barn. I use some pseudo-retro tech to do projection effects and moving portraits... I'm hoping to get some of these old systems controlling the lights, triggers, and music a bit more interactively in the future, but it is just a charity home haunt for our local Humane Society. This year has been a bit rough, as I've transitioned through three kitchens as a chef in the last 12 months, trying to find a sane way to do that and have my life intact.
    I also build weird PCs on the side, so high five to you brother in arms!
    Edit: This could take a much better GPU obviously, but keeping it real (cheap) - I'd recommend bouncing up to a more recent Radeon, as the whole r7/r9 series is pretty much dogwater prices now. I have a great love for HD era Radeons - I kinda collect them, but this ain't one of the better ones... and the good ones cost too much (my absolute beloved one right now is a 5870 Asus Matrix with 2 GB of VRAM, I'm hoping to eventually find the 7000 series one at less than 200 bucks... Damn collectors, LOL).

      Thank you so much, and that haunted barn sounds dope honestly. I hope it gets smoother for you in the near future, and always cool to see another cheap or strange tech enthusiasts. I was thinking along the lines of a rx 560 to probably max the system out

    There's something about smaller tech UA-camrs that makes them interesting for me to watch. I've watched your other videos and I can happily say that I'm excited for part 3 if it comes out, lol. Keep up the good work, man ✌️

    Excellent build! Make sure when applying thermal paste to avoid air bubbles, the pattern you did isnt bad, but it isnt ideal. The best shapes are either the dot, or spreading method. Still a very good video, and honestly a pretty capable pc.

    the cpu you pulled out is definitely not a core 2 duo lol core 2 duo was LGA 775. you had an i3 or a pentium

    Just a note, it does appear the GPU is the bottleneck, since its usage is at 100%. This is of course fine, as you do not want the CPU to be what is holding back your system from the performance you want. At one point you said you wished to see higher CPU usage in game, but high CPU usage in game is not ideal. With the overlay though it's best to have it display the usage of each individual CPU core, not only overall CPU usage, because it's possible that 1 core could be at 100% utilization but overall CPU usage is not unless all the other cores are also at 100%. In games, you do not want any of your CPU cores to hit 100% utilization, if that is something you find, then your CPU is holding back the rest of the system.

    Maybe Tiny10 would help this, CPU bottlenecked certainly on the 2core part1 one. My 2nd gen just does HTPC stuff on Linux nowadays. I think older games would work, just how old ;) .

      Ghost spectres builds are far superior over tiny 10. Tiny 10 is missing a ton of critical components that makes it lose functionality and breaks or doesn't load.

      @@stoney42a 580 would be better on this system, I know amd drivers are less taxing but a 10 series GTX would be the best here

  • @PricklyPineapplesProductions

    what is the cooler btw? Using one from a dell inspiron but it sucks. Running minecraft it gets up to 75 degrees and with only a browser in the 60s.

      You don't need one it's just to remember any programs or tabs you had open last, basically it's a cache for basic information that helps your computer remember where you were last and it's unnecessary for actually using the machine

    • @PowerRider16
      @PowerRider16 Рік тому +1

      @@stoney42 the CMOS battery is for keeping the system clock and BIOS settings saved, not a cache. But, you don't really need it if you don't care about the clock or don't make changes to default BIOS settings, though on some PC's it will put up an error before booting warning if the CMOS battery is dead (or not present)

    • @stoney42
      @stoney42  Рік тому

      @PowerRider16 yeah it's unnecessary for a system with the specs that I have and unnecessary for most older hardware available, it's the newer systems with the cmos batteries that have a chance of erroring out

    • @stoney42
      @stoney42  Рік тому

      @PowerRider16 also it is a cache that holds the info you just explained that's what a cache is

    • @tronalddump8776
      @tronalddump8776 9 місяців тому

      @@stoney42system clock and bios settings aren't stored in a cache. They are stored in a memory or rom chip but that's not the same as cache and the only thing they have in common is the term memory does apply to both.

      4th gen Lenovos and Dells matched up to RX550 or 1050 or 1060 all come into this price range. Granted you might have to settle with a HDD if you don't wanna go beyond $85.
