    I'm Chickasaw and I recently got to go to our ancestral homelands. I met this woman when I went to Moundville and she was just the sweetest. She showed me around the site and showed me her living history stuff. It was really really cool and I'm glad I got to experience that.

    Awesome! I have been there at night and the stars were amazing. The fog cover was also very eerie. Lots more to learn about that location. The recovered adze and original wooden handle they have displayed there was really cool to see. Thanks Chase

    They used houses that stayed cool all summer long by not having walls on the houses and the air flow was great , they had walls around the entire area though. Also they kept forests clean and burned so no bugs

    Would have liked to see more museum pieces...! We're any of the mounds excavated??? No info on that here...

    • @ChasingHistory
      @ChasingHistory  Рік тому +1

      We would have liked to have shown more, but we were very restricted in what we could show in the museum, out of respect for the current native tribes & for items that were on loan and not apart of permanent display. which is completely understandable. best way to see it is to go visit yourself! its a Great site with Great people!

    You should cover the legends on Giants. I've been to these sites as a fellow utuber. Might find the videos I got interesting.

    • @ChasingHistory

      not a bad idea.... it would be a great commentary on how newspapers in the mid to late 19th century created legends to sell newspapers that still negatively effect us and native American groups to this day.... thanks for the idea!

    Here's a thought, these aren't simply mounds but earthen pyramids. Secondly, our European ancestors were responsible for the destruction of approximately 90% of the total mounds that once existed.

    • @ChasingHistory
      @ChasingHistory  Місяць тому +1

      that's a good thought. and yes the colonist of north America have and still are destroying native sites at an astonishing rate! its important that we do not forget that!
