      Envelo Envelope It sounds interesting but I doubt it work, either it would act like an oxygen balloon and sink normally or sulfur hexafluoride would make a stronger downward force then the upward force of helium. Pretty much, it would most likely sink. But it might just float around not going up or down who knows??

    • @the_wombat_goat3368
      @the_wombat_goat3368 4 роки тому +6

      It would sound the same since the gas inside is SF6 not the gas outside. That means the travelling sound does not interact with SF6 very much. So, slightly, yes, however not noticeably.

    • @the_wombat_goat3368
      @the_wombat_goat3368 4 роки тому +3

      Also, it would be different sounding if the gas outside was to be more or less dense, obviously. The only reason that the balloons filled with helium and SF6 would sound different is if some got in front of the sound waves as they travelled from the balloon to your ear.

    • @applefan6558
      @applefan6558 5 років тому

      Yes. Regular air has weight that can be measured in grams in a full balloon vs an empty balloon. No balloon needed for sulfur hexafluoride since it's heavier than air and can be contained in a open container.

      The air in a balloon has mass, but it displaces just as much air as you put in the balloon.
      The buoyancy from the air it displaces cancels the weight of air inside, and if you weigh it you'll just end up with the mass of the balloon.
      Helium has mass too, but weigh it on a scale, I'll wait.

    what probably caused those balloons to bust is the difference in pressure between the outside gas and any inside gases eventually overcoming the material strength of the balloon itself as even when are seems completely still there is still some pressure differential between various sections of it which causes a increased pressure which can rip through lighter lighter things as though it were being pressed on by something more solid

Maybe some type of depth buoys floating on the different layers, maybe colored fogs of each gas forming a stratum? I don't know how feasible it is but it would be neat.

    At 10:07, I feel the reason about why the balloons randomly exploded, is probably because they were sitting in the bin with the Sulfur Hex-a Fluoride for awhile and all it needed was the slightest bit more of pressure to make them explode (because as soon as Nate threw one balloon in the bin, it popped the one it hit)
