Taylor GS Mini | Top Shelf Travel Guitar | Acoustic Review & Demo

This video is a first for my channel. It's an acoustic video and my first "manufacturer" review. That's right, no DIY, rebuild, or pedal. This week, it's a quick overview and demo of my Taylor GS Mini in Mahogany. I have playing this guy so frequently lately that I felt the need to tell you about it. It's my go-to guitar for the couch and traveling. A reduced size guitar that is great for fingerstyle and can hold up strumming with any full sized beast.
This video will take you through the GS Mini construction, and provide a brief demo of different playing styles, as well as, the ES-Go pickup add-on. I also threw in a quick head-to-head test for volume with my full size Taylor 114ce.

Wow the GS mini sounds identical to the full sized Taylor. And the Mahogany has a nice slightly mellower tone that I like a bit better.

Is the 2 decibel difference between the mini and the full-size noticeable or significant? And have you tried to fly on a plane with it

I would say noticeable volume change, but not significant. I can still easily play along with a full size guitar. Haven't flown with it, but I do believe Tony Polacastro has a video where he does.

Can this thing be plugged in? Pickup?

Yes. This one has the GS-GO pickup installed. It's passive and ok, but the better option is likely to be the GS Mini-E. It has the gsb preinstalled preamp/pickup

why in your version mahogany is so dark?

I don't think it is. It's pretty similar to other gs mini mahogany guitars I have seen. I will say some of the newer ones are bit lighter than mine though.
