Having used my 600 for over 2 years now i can absolutely confirm that it's large tolerances do help with dirt and such. I recently bought an OHT with the intention to replace my 600 with it and switched back after a week. OHT's sliding mechanism gets stuck on everything. 600 just doesn't care.
I have carried and used my 600 pro scout for 25+ yrs and it is as good as new. I also have several other Multi tools, including a LM Wave. The Wave is nicer overall, but the Gerber is the one that gets carried. Nice video. Thank you.
Best tool they make by far. I've carried one now for over 25 years and nothing else I've tried comes close. As fisherman, the file and scissors really come in handy.
I carried one since 2004 and have bought five for family members. Is it the greatest of all multi tools? No but it never has let me down. I now carry a Center Drive as my everyday carry.
At 6:59 I blew on my screen to get the hair off my phone. Then I realized the hair was on your table. 😂. Great video brother! I served overseas with the model without the removable saw blade. I never had a problem with them.
excellent review - your use of qualifiers indicates superior discernment. You also make a lot of detailed observations missing in other reviews. There is a conspicuous lack of fluff - all to the good. Subscribed
sometimes it just needs to work, this tool nails that. I've never owned an AK-47 but I've shot a few, hard to argue with it based on it's target market.
I have the MP600 bladeless because I can't EDC a locking blade here in the UK, I thought that instead of a blade it has scissors so was surprised to see scissors on the scout too...I like these Fiscars scissors, not as precise as Victorinox but more robust. Anyway it seems that the blade is replaced by a larger flathead on the bladeless so it has 3 not 2. In any case I don't miss the blade which looks a bit weird on the Scout, because I carry a folding (slipjoint) knife anyway.
I'm surprised they don't supply a non-locking blade for UK versions. That said, the locking blade in a multi tool makes a poor weapon anyway considering how long it takes to deploy it.
@@mehardin The legislation is really ridiculous anyway. No self-respecting ''roadman'' (street thug) is going to carry a multitool anyway. Their preferred weapon of choice is kitchen knives.
1:13 no nail nick to open the blade 2:43 Velcro on a military tool? Velcro doesnt last long. $74.69 on amazon as of Oct 11, 2021. 5:08 That is one stubby screwdriver. 5:47 Where can I find a replacement blade? 8:04 No mention of the lanyard loop on the scissor handle? I would't mention it either except that is too tiny to secure it with 550 cord. Can't find anything small enough to actually fit that hole while being strong enough to secure it.
If ya want a replacement saw blade it's a standard saw blade fitment, like you'd put on a jigsaw power tool. So doens't even have to be remgrit, it can be anything you want that fits inside the multitool
No !!! government is cheep and refused to pay what Leatherman wanted so Wala you get a Gerber issued instead, trump would have payed for Leatherman contract ........$$$$$$$
Appreciate the review-- good info. I must say, though, that it isiaibit disconcerting to hear the reviewer repeatedly mispronounce the word "especially." He pronounces ir "exspecially", and it just adds a slight tint of being uneducated to what is otherwise a solid review of the Gerber.

Just like an AK-47 :)
My dad gave me his he brought to Iraq in 2001 works just like new

Same here. I've been gifted and won (think safety bonus) many other brands but the one I depend on and carry every day is my Gerber.

Nice! yeah this isn't as "refined" as some of the other option but for a hard use tool it's hard to knock it.
Thanks for watching!

Haha yeah I have dogs
The hair battle is real

Crazy that I found this tool landscaping one day. Once I lost it, now I just want to replace it.
Sasquatch strikes the GNT channel. Happy New Year everybody!!
Once the tool is broken in the fact it doesn’t have a spring I think is a positive.
it keeps it simple and less likely to bind up. I just like the spring loaded function for when you have gloves and stuff on. all in all a great tool!
Digging on your content my dude. Got yourself another subscriber!
Calling it an "AK-47" seems pretty accurate. Not the best, but interesting and decently reliable.

You obviously haven't been in the military. Velcro is on everything.
Cool
Man now its 70 gezzz
So the US military use the AK-47 of multi tools. 😉👍
They use the multitool but the Al-47 is battle tested, hard to argue it!

just bought the pro acout with bits kit for USD71.xx before shipping. Supposed to be USD81.xx. Can't wait for it to arrive in couple of weeks.
The leatherman is so much better.
There junk compared to Leatherman!!!
If by “ak-47” you mean “overhyped and disappointing” you are correct. The military gets those because the USG won’t pay for Leatherman.
I think for the price it’s pretty solid.
