You may have seen some recent news article claiming there are up to a million new hives in the USA! Unfortunately, that isn't the case. Blake breaks down why that isn't so and explains that bees are still in trouble!

My last Winters loss was around 60%, it's great that new beekeepers are joining but the numbers sound off.
We always have the influx of new keepers every year but how many stick with it past their 1st Winter let alone 2nd or 3rd after they discover how difficult beekeeping can be. Spread the Truth! 👍Blessed Days...

They must have ask a small sideliner that then went to 30,000 hives. A few of those and you're at a million new hives pretty fast.

So, were the surveys from different years done at different times?
If surveys were done around the same time using the same methodology the result would have some credibility.
From your perspective, why are bees in trouble?
Props to you. The logistics to manage 30,000 hives is no small feat.
