Hey Euge, Thanks for this awesome review. İ actually loved the sound of the amp alot. This is by far the best amp voice i have ever heard on youtube. Your playing is just awesome. When we have Euge , amps sound like Friedman! Thanks man!!!
The Amp 1 is the real deal. I remember when I first got mine I had doubts but was blown away when playing next to my friends real JCM800 it sounded the same!
I have the original THR100 and for what it was designed for, its perfect. It is a 3rd amp. Bedroom jams, living room noodling, etc. I feel like Yamaha is capable of anything they want to do, but they are trying to push this model line TOO far beyond what it was intended. I personally went with the Headrush Pedalboard and I do not regret that decision. Playing in isolation is way different than in a mix. When in a band setting, a lot of our bedroom ears lie to us. Thanks for doing this Euge!
Euge your bluGuitar amp demo about 6 months ago ABSOLUTELY made me purchase the amp, when you compared it "back-to-back with the 800 big boy" made me say wow! it hung in very close with the big boy as far as tones, (shocked me how close they sounded, sooo damn close!!) your reaction on that video is priceless and truly a honest reaction/surprise from you and thats what these demos are all about IMO............ I have owned at least 8 tube Marshalls over the years (2 JVM, SLX, 3203 Artist, 2 DSLs, etc) and the bluamp is as good if not BETTER as ANY of those amps. To be honest i only "jam with buddies" and play at home but for what i do, it is the best sounding of all the Marshalls i have owned and that is the absolute truth, its that damn good. The Yamaha is "ok but the blu just sounds better, more organic and overall is the clear winner.............. Keep up the great demos Euge your doing a great job
HEY YOU. Would super like you to do more overdrives with your amps. If you can bounce between room mics and what ever your using as a IR loader so we can get a sense of "in the room" amp sound as I would love yer take on that. Enjoying your material mate!!
Sounds Great Euge! I have the Yamaha THR10X and it is the tightest, gainiest little practice amp on the market. It also has built in effects, interface, and through headphones or your computer the stereo spread is unreal.Give a listen to Cameron Cooper’s channel,he records everything he does on it and it sounds unbelievable. Plus his playing is right up your alley.
they also had a unit in the 90s that was designed by Mike Soldano, could have been the late 80s...probably designes after the famous slo circuit, but I havent heard a good example in the flesh
Can't say I was a fan of the tone to be honest. The 6L6 setting sounded a little better, but it is still a solid no for me. Thanks for the demo Euge 🤘🤘
Yeah. Old skool Euge. It doesn't go down his throat.... I want to believe in the modeled sound, they have a practical application on stage, maybe in bedroom, I use plugins ...but ... I fire the tube amp + 4x12 and I have full satisfaction... and it will never go away. Thanks for not cheating on us Euge... youngsters, do not be deceived, you have to try REAL (analog) half stack.
He should try the FM9, but it's a "computer Star Trek thing". It has a learning curve. It has great presets, but unless you like tweaking a bunch of settings all day.... it's not for you. Euge likes to plug in, and twist a few knobs. He's old school.
Since I already have a Boss Katana head.... I have no need for a THR100 head. You need to get your hands on one of those new EVH ICONIC heads. Everyone is still trying to figure out if it is any good or not! Hehehe! You will tell us the truth about it!
Euge you are a real guitar player extraordinaire I’m with you Plug in turn it on let it warm up and boost it with sd1. The Blu Guitar is an exception it is the closest thing to a real tube amp in my opinion
thr100hd is much more fun. The hd version allows the upper and lower heads to sound together. You can use modern mode for both heads, or one for modern and one for crunch mode, etc. It sounds much more powerful.
it sounds like an old tech plugin: a lot of compression, notes have no attack and also dont decay, amp models have no depth (i tested it against plugins for 2 weeks).... The THR10 does the exact same thing but it has the excuse of being a small home amp. No wonder the THR100 got discontinued relatively fast.
I liked the cleans on the yamaha. That is a great company and has been in the buisness a long time. My first bass was a yamaha BB 300 and it was awesome. I guess they are trying to keep up with everyone else with the digital stuff. Not sure why its priced so high when you can get the blue for less. The BB300 i had was made in 1983. I don't know what they are like now. It was also made in Japan.
@@EugeValovirta230V yes I like your yamaha monitors. I have to get new frets on my LTD I'm just gonna pay someone to do it. I also got locking tuners for my SG. I hate re stringing a guitar without them.
I could put up with those sorts of tone in a practice amp (the THR10X is pretty gnarly, all things considered...the THR30II also rocks...) but compared to an amp at the same price point, it doesn't hold up at all well. Not sure how Reeves Gabrels makes his sound so good but whilst it's not awful....it's not really my bag.
Yamaha is kind of a tough nut to crack. I’m not a big fan of their THR100. But, heir little THR10X is hands down the best small bedroom practice amp on the planet, and it’s a great recording tool in a pinch. But, I agree with Euge….for a lightweight, powerful, portable guitar rig for roughly the same price, that BluGuitar AMP1 simply can’t be beat. I still don’t know which one I want though. I think I’ll wait for the new model to come out, that will be all inclusive…….LOL.
The Amp1 sounds so much better and is so much more versatile, the Yamaha just doesn't even compare. The Amp1 also sounds like it likes boost pedals much more than the Yamaha.
Its a shame they dont take the desktop THR, and put it in a small cab with a footswitch and compete with the Katana.. I don’t understand why they havent yet. I know they have a market niche. But the Katana for budget home rig thats gig ready, is totally dominating the market. But if they were to just put the THR desktop with FX into a cab up the watts to 50-100w they would have the perfect companion amp for their revstars. I would grab a revstar and yamaha THR combo for 1k and use for practice at home and the bar and keep my good gear at home protected. Why Yamaha ? Give us a combo like a Katana!
I've been trying to squeeze an AMP1 into my arsenal/budget for a long time. This just reinforces that Thomas built a very smart device that sounds really great. I have a couple amps that I don't use much anymore, I just have to get around to cleaning them up and transform them into something I can buy the AMP1 with. Time of course...lol it's always time isn't it?
My new favorite channel, thanks for all you give us!
Glad to hear! Thanks!

Btw. it’s ’The Bad Boy’ 😎😉
My 25-year amp journey ended with the Yamaha THR100HD. After 6 years, i haven't looked back. 😌
you got a great mix tweak ear brain going on :) i got the iridium after your other vid dude, happy guy on my rockerverb aby dual rig

The Amp1 killed the Yamaha the Amp1 is killer sounding WOW!!Thanks for your honesty in all your videos!Much appreciated 🤟🏻🤟🏻🎸🎸

@@EugeValovirta230V please try thr10-II we very would like to hear your opinion on it.
These digital amps sound how analog stacks sound in a final recording mix. That is why it all sounds quite similar on UA-cam.
one and only guitar peace I regret selling. And maybe Gibson SG ;p
I like the sound of it a lot. Is like best amp you ever played
Can’t argue about personal preferences 😎.
Is the BluGuitar Amp a modeler?…I am not familiar with that one..it sounds great though, nearly identical to the 800..
Nope. It’s a 100 watt amp using nanotube technology 👌💪.

Hahaha. Love what you’re doing Euge. 😎🤘

The Iridium just goes BOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!
The Yamaha tabletop practice amps are fun but for a real amp the Blug is very hard to beat.

That blu is just killer. One of the best modelers I've heard. What's your typical sd1 settings?
It is. And it’s not a modeler; it’s a 100 watt amp using Nanotube technology 👌😎.
Level - 4 o’clock, tone - 1 o’clock, drive - 8 o’clock.
it's seems that on your settings you put more master than volume I have a better sound with max volume and less master
That’s great! Whatever works the best, works the best👌😎.
Yeah you are absolutely right amp one sounds way better, and it’s funny when you’ve meant at least it chugs 😂🤣.

Should try a fractal fm 3 great tones ,it computer,Awesome

I bought thr100 years ago and returned it. The main reason was it was as loud as 20W tube amp.
😎
@@EugeValovirta230V To my knowledge, the THR 100 has 100W, 50W and 25W mode. You mean the 100W mode sounded like 20W tube amp?

Yep. It lacks 😎.

This is digital modelling vs true analog. The Yamaha is more convenient but I'm sure in real life the Amp 1 sounds better.
