im getting ready to downsize my setup. im rocking a BE100Dlx im about to trade that beast in for the mercury edition and a blubox. i can't belive how good this amp sounds without heavy transformers!!!
Thanks to your reviews, I got the AMP1 and now even the Blubox. Both fantastic and do their job. Now I can play more without fiddling around with tons of menus and parameters of a modeler :)
I just did my first outdoor gig with the Iridium thru a Laney 4x12. More than kept up with the 100W Marshall my bandmate had and our drummer. I was -too- loud at 7 and just right at 6 on the dial. Euge isn’t kidding about these being more than enough. Thank you Euge for showing us the way! Fast setup too.
Oh cool man! You used it live before me 😎. My latest show was in London on Feb 2020 and we were supposed to continue our touring for ’No Halos In Hell’ but still waiting for that to happen. I haven’t seen / played the guitars & gear I use (used on that tour) live with Cyhra since then ’cos we keep them at our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden 😎.

I never even considered BluGuitar as an option until I saw your vids on the Amp 1. Another impressive one by the way. I was wondering if you will be able to demo the Amp X when it’s released. That’s the one I’m interested in the most.
They went under my radar for quite a while too and then when I finally tried one out I was hooked up immediately 👌😎. The X one will be a gamechanger too.
Now that is great product from people who know their job well. Cool playing and demo. there is some difference but without reference sound aka to compere it side by side it would much harder to say that is not ''real tube amp'', i did try Mercury which is grey and i liked it, didn't try out that one so thx for the demo.

They thought us in electronic schools that transistor amps can sound good as any tube amps, i made some as well my colleagues. 1st great transistor ala tube i heard was ''Award Session - Sessionette ''- they are a bit forget brand but they still make an amazing amps. Sounds so good! BluGuitar seems to really know what they're doing, and you're an important part of the signal chain. I've been wondering for a while how close your pickups are to the strings. You get such a dynamic, aggressive sound, and I think pickup height is an important factor in getting that sound. I hope you can specify the measurements of your pickup heights, and share any insights you have about that. Thanks for posting such interesting, informative, and great sounding videos! 😎🤘
Thanks! They do indeed. I don’t know any measurements; I just find the sweet spots for them where it just feels right so it differs from guitar to guitar. One factor for the dynamics is that I use quite a lot less gain what people think. Usually the first thing when someone is playing with my rig is like: ”man, where’s that gain of yours?”. It’s there but you just gotta own / command it. Play soft, it’ll sound soft. Play hard with big balls, it’ll sound hard and badass ballsy 😎💪. I don’t wanna lose my sound & dynamics of my playing by adding tons of gain 😊. And thanks again man! Really glad to hear that you’ve liked them 🙏.

I thought about that but Suhr & St.Rock are reactive loads with a possibilty to load any IRs and with St.Rock even creating your own IRs & mix any IRs etc. and it’s also a cab attenuator etc etc. BluBox being ”just” a device with pre-set IRs by BluG (which are really good) and not a reactive load there isn’t basically anything to compare since you need a load (a cab or reactive load) with it to be used with a tube amp (except BluGuitar AMP1 which works without a load ’cos of the Nanotube technology etc.) 😎 So yeah there isn’t really anything to compare 😊.

Thanks! The amp has one built in IR but I didn’t like it that much so I bypassed it and ended up actually using the Neunaber Iconoclast which I’ve used many years.
Amp 1 seems to be something like the final solution (and it sounds really fine) but when I searched for more information I found this review on Thomann site: "It will be undoubtedly a trend in the future. Heavy transformers, etc., there is technology today to eliminate this. BluAmp is almost perfect, but I returned it for two reasons: 1. There is permanent background noise. It is not a loud sound and it is not affected by the volume, but it is annoying if you use it at home or when recording. I have tube amplifiers (Bugera, Orange, BlackStar) and none do that. This noise passes to the recordings regardless of whether the sound is clean or drive. If you use it for rehearsals or with high volumes it can be indifferent (maybe...). 2. There is an error in the design regarding the position of the Noise Gate and the Reberb. If you use the Gate in the Metal position, the reverb is useless, as the high gain noise will appear for a while ruining the effect. With pedals positioned before the Gate and then the reverb, it doesn't. Corrected that, for me it would be a great amplifier with a highly modern and innovative design. I hope that the new AmpX from BluAmp does not have these rather amateurish problems." Did you notice those 2 "problems" ?
Hi, what worked best for you after all this time for live performances (without load attached)? Blubox, Iconoclast, something else or maybe nothing at all? On the video Iconoclast was much better (I own Iridium myself and it sounds crap without load honestly), but it's not available to buy anywhere, any replacement recommendations? Maybe idea for next video?

Line out. I used the speaker out only to connect / disconnect the reactive load when I demonstrated how a load (negative feedback) affects the tone & behaviour of the amp.
Dont know if this is a silly question. But can you mix a Cab Sim IR pedal, WITH the Iconoclast Speaker Emulator pedal? So the ICO acts like an added “EQ” if you will? Ive got a Jens Bogren IR that id love to mix with the Neunaber. Much like what Euge did with his Suhr loader.
Yeah why not. I’d try to put an ABY pedal before Iconoclast & the other pedal to split the signal to both 👌. Then you’d have two different cab tones and could mix them according to taste.

I dont know man, after the JCM800 era Marshall wanted yo shift from tube to transistor, they heavily invested in R & D to create the solid state jcm800s which sound like this but even better with out tubes, but the demand for tube amps became a marketing trivia, but that demand was based on the fact that the solid state amps where only good for home volume levels and break up if users turned up the volume, but pro guitarists did not fall for the scam, they knew marshall and fender where trying to take advantage of solid state technology cause Marshall’s jcm800 solid state amps sounded as good as the tube amps so they where suspecting that the reason marshall wanted this was so they marketed one amp for Profesionall’s who needed to play at low volumes and another who needed to crank it up all while both the jcm800s heads and combos sounded like jcm800 tubes on all volume levels…so marshall immediately introduced valvstates, then the rest fallowed…now we all want nano tube amps in pedal forms or software.. So the amp1 is a solid state jcm800, we have a number of solid-state marshalls in pedal forms, including some that claim to capture plexi tones.
@@theophany1770 Run on Sentence? modular amps suck, they are over priced, to professionally record you still need aux-bus and share time based effects across the board to sound "in the mix" unless you intentionally want a bathroom verb effect . The only reason I would even bother with amp1 I for the Marshall tone, Marshall tone is the most desirable rock tone there is but there is no way this feels the same as a real 1984 bad boy...live anyway. The closest to John Syke's bad boy was the Marshall JCM800 Combo 5210 Solid State combo (with Greenbacks) ...used on White Snake and early Zakk Wild Ozzy recording sessions by Kieth Olsen.., Marshall later tried sneeking in the solid state amps with valve-state (little tube like amp1) 8040/8080/8100s which is now available in a pedal format called the Martyre., Kurt Cobaine used a Solid State JCM800 head which he then replaced with a JMP1 as a dream section then to a Messa Boogie power amp. I would try this Martyre 8100/the brown sound or a plexiglass pedal into an amp before spending thousands on Amp1, Helix or other modular junk with extra tones your never gonna use, if its Marshall you want in a small format Amp1 its not the only solution. But if you want Fender, etc then Amp1 is good..for its size factor you still need blah and blah to sound as close to a Kemper set up

I dont know man, after the JCM800 era Marshall wanted yo shift from tube to transistor, they heavily invested in R & D to create the solid state jcm800s which sound like this but even better with out tubes, but the demand for tube amps became a marketing trivia, but that demand was based on the fact that the solid state amps where only good for home volume levels and break up if users turned up the volume, but pro guitarists did not fall for the scam, they knew marshall and fender where trying to take advantage of solid state technology cause Marshall’s jcm800 solid state amps sounded as good as the tube amps so they where suspecting that the reason marshall wanted this was so they marketed one amp for Profesionall’s who needed to play at low volumes and another who needed to crank it up all while both the jcm800s heads and combos sounded like jcm800 tubes on all volume levels…so marshall immediately introduced valvstates, then the rest fallowed…now we all want nano tube amps in pedal forms or software..
So the amp1 is a solid state jcm800, we have a number of solid-state marshalls in pedal forms, including some that claim to capture plexi tones.

@@theophany1770 Run on Sentence? modular amps suck, they are over priced, to professionally record you still need aux-bus and share time based effects across the board to sound "in the mix" unless you intentionally want a bathroom verb effect .
The only reason I would even bother with amp1 I for the Marshall tone, Marshall tone is the most desirable rock tone there is but there is no way this feels the same as a real 1984 bad boy...live anyway.
The closest to John Syke's bad boy was the Marshall JCM800 Combo 5210 Solid State combo (with Greenbacks) ...used on White Snake and early Zakk Wild Ozzy recording sessions by Kieth Olsen.., Marshall later tried sneeking in the solid state amps with valve-state (little tube like amp1) 8040/8080/8100s which is now available in a pedal format called the Martyre., Kurt Cobaine used a Solid State JCM800 head which he then replaced with a JMP1 as a dream section then to a Messa Boogie power amp.
I would try this Martyre 8100/the brown sound or a plexiglass pedal into an amp before spending thousands on Amp1, Helix or other modular junk with extra tones your never gonna use, if its Marshall you want in a small format Amp1 its not the only solution.
But if you want Fender, etc then Amp1 is good..for its size factor you still need blah and blah to sound as close to a Kemper set up
