Angling armor effectively increases its thickness with a head on strike. There is more material from front to back in the straight trajectory. So there is less chance of penetrating it. That's why armored vehicles often have sloped armor.
I'm just going to assume that zebra round was some wonderful Frankenstein of a Russian 12.7 HE round of some sort loaded into a 50 casing and not ask questions. ;)
@Jaiden Smitt nah they spliced that footage - if you go frame by frame you can definitely see a block of explosive in front of the brick before it goes to the stop sign shot. It's pretty shoddy editing too so idk how you missed it
I really wish there was a big mine near me. if they arn't using a ceramic wear liner, they are using something like 4" AR steel (pretty sure it's more like 550 or 600). so offcuts of that would be fun to shoot for sure.
That Russian round was insane!!! I shot a lot of .50 BMG in my days in the Corps, but nothing compares to that beast... yeah, what are the Russians putting in there? Whatever it is, I LIKE IT!
Good work! Especially with the last round, how did they managed to put so much explosives in a bullet? Inconceivable! And I hope your car has a heater :)
